#1 of 9 B&Bs / Inns in St. Michaels
Travelers' Choice
The Parsonage Inn (1883) provides a striking example of the late Victorian era with its unique brick inlays and center tower with steeple. What makes us unique? First, we NEVER charge resort fees! The little things! Log burning and gas fireplaces, coffee, tea and bottled water available 24 hours a day, an ice maker for your drinks, active wine chilling sleeves, wine glasses and a corkscrew in your room, great bikes, freshly baked cookies,a three course, truly amazing, breakfast and we cater to all types of dietary needs. Then there are the big things that aren't readily visible; Cleanliness, attention to detail, extremely comfortable bed, lovely linens, expert knowledge of the area and restaurants, and our very friendly staff . These are just a few of the many, many things that our guests love and why they come back - frequently!

Our host Anna was the best! She made sure everything was just perfect! Her conversations and suggestions were spot on! Her breakfasts were delicious! Our room decor was a little dated, and old, but the linens clean and comfortable .

My wife and I have spent many evenings at B&Bs and the Parsonage was one of the best. It is ‘as advertised’ a vintage B&B. The room we stayed in (#1) was a vintage stay in a classic 1800’s room. Nothing fancy, just a well appointed period room. The best part of the Inn is the Innkeeper Anna, who took care of our every need. She’s the best!

Thank you for posting a great review. A vintage home built in the 1880's and restored in 1985 isn't for everyone (some people want modern rooms with a sterile decor), but we are pleased that you can appreciate the old "Pastor's Study". Anna started with us about a month ago, and we clearly made the right choice in hiring her! She is attentive to the guest needs and your review certainly reflects that a really good inn is much more than some fancy rooms.

I mentioned the evening before to Melissa that I'd be biking the following morning at 5am. As we had 915am breakfast reservations, she put out a basket of snacks for me in the lobby that night so I'd have something to eat beforehand. Really considerate (see photo)... The service was great and it's a superb B&B on the edge of the town so quiet, but no more than a 10 minute walk to anywhere in St. Michael's you'd like to go to. We stayed in Room 5 which was nice and right off the back parking lot.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. This was our first stay in St. Michaels and the Parsonage Inn B&B exceeded our expectations. It was the off-season time of year, so the streets were not crowded with people. The Innkeeper, Anna gave outstanding service. Her breakfasts were delicious and she made sure all guests had enough to eat. When we told Anna we’re prediabetic, she paid special attention to our dietary needs by preparing food for us that was low in sugar. Shout out to Julia who helped Anna in the kitchen. If you get a chance to meet Will (the owner of Parsonage Inn), ask him to tell you the story about “the unofficial mayor of St. Michaels who sat in the saloon” and other Parsonage Inn history. We stayed in Room #5 (in the rear) and did not have to carry luggage far because the car could be parked right in front of the door. Room was cozy with a working fireplace, TV, and private bathroom /shower. The queen-size brass bed was comfortable. WiFi service is available. There were Makeup Remover towelettes in the bathroom. Thanks to reading an earlier trip advisor review, we knew to bring bar soap. So that guests can have a contactless stay, the housekeeper does not go into occupied rooms. We love the elegant look of the Parsonage Inn and liked the feeling of being a guest in someone’s home. Our three-night stay in St. Michaels was memorable. We highly recommend the Parsonage Inn and plan to come back.

The Parsonage Inn was built or restored n 1985 when my Dad retired and moved from the Philadelphia suburbs to St. Michaels. He wanted something to do . . and the builder suggested we convert the residence of the Methodist Parson to a Bed and Breakfast Inn. The rest they say . . . is history. The interior of the building was completed rebuilt with new electrical, plumbing and zoned heat pumps. We tried to keep the historic character of the building by carefully removing the wood trim and pocket doors and restoring them. We are pleased to see that this guest and many others find the results pleasing to the eye. If you want a comfortable inn . . not too fancy . . and with real historic character, the Parsonage Inn may be your best choice. And as this review and other recent reviews points out, our new innkeeper, Anna, is really making guest stays something special.

Thanks for posting your review. Anna started just ten days before your stay, so it is apparent that she knows what she is doing! The inns with great innkeepers, not necessarily the most lavish decor or furnishings, often are the top rated inns in any area. We are very pleased to have Anna join us and provide great innkeeping for our guests.
