My husband and I stayed over Labor Day weekend to celebrate a birthday. We chose this Inn because we like to travel with our large dog and we find that innkeepers who welcome dogs are few and far between. Not so here! Innkeeper Will designates one room for well-trained dogs and it was perfect. It is a first floor room with private patio overlooking the pool and pretty landscaping. We were intrigued by the history of the house and enjoyed learning more about it and it's renovation from Will. The pool was a lovely place to relax after a day spent out and about. Breakfasts were delicious, and we felt very safe with all the Covid precautions put into place. All in all, a very lovely stay and we hope to come back!

Many thanks and kudos to the Will and staff for making our stay even better than we remembered from the last time. The updates were intentionally noticeable. After ALL of our cancelled vacation plans due to COVID 19 this was a welcomed get away. I felt safe and was very appreciative of the all the pre-cautionary measures taken (masks, sanitizer everywhere, clean pool and bathroom - crucial for me!) as well as the choice to be socially distant. As always Will was readily available (even made special scrambled eggs for hubby), after an already scrumptious birthday breakfast, and led us to a fabulous special dinner at The Bistro along with pre dinner cocktails at Foxy’s. He’s knowledgeable, discreet, talkative when warranted - the consummate host. We’ve been coming since 13 years ago and plan to always come back. Thanks for making my 50th a memorable one. Hope to see you guys soon!

Repeat guests are the backbone of our B&B business. It is always nice to welcome guests back, update them on the "restaurant scene" and this year - how the pandemic may impact their plans for exploring the area, sailing, etc. We really try to make guests feel safe with extensive sanitary procedures and social distancing inside the inn and out at the pool. If you have any dietary issues or preferences, please let us know in advance so we can see how to accommodate them! And to these special guests - thanks for always being so gracious and considerate > > Will

We happily anticipated visiting the George Brooks House; and when the chance finally arrived, the Inn-keeper went to extraordinary measures to attend to our every comfort, need, and preferences, almost as if we were his parents! Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control prevented our travel at that time, but we are eager to reschedule in the near future and enjoy the gracious and generous hospitality previously extended.

This guest was coming in from out-of-state (North Carolina) for a 5 day stay in St. Michaels. Initially she considered staying in town at our other inn (the Parsonage Inn), but the allure of the extensive gardens with swimming pool and the quiet setting of this inn moved her to book 4 nights here and the last night in town. Since we own two inns with completely different settings, we can assist the guest in selecting the room and the inn that would best match up with their preferences. At the last minute, her plans fell apart and we cancelled her reservation with a minor cancellation fee as we had other rooms available for others seeking lodging. We try to put ourselves "in the other persons shoes" to understand the circumstances for why a guest may have to cancel their reservation at the last minute. Over the years we have implemented "the Golden Rule" and think it pays off in the long run with guests that will come back to us when their travel plans call for a visit to St. Michaels.

My husband and I were desperate for a weekend away and were very happy with our stay at George Brooks House. We were looking for a dog friendly destination with a pool in the St. Michels area. We couldn’t have been happier with our visit. We felt comfortable the whole time we were there. We had a first floor room with a walk out patio overlooking the beautiful pool area. The innkeeper Will was interesting and welcoming and we enjoyed speaking with him about many things including the history of the house. Breakfast was a true treat! We all were separated by more than six feet and we felt truly comfortable. We look forward to a return visit.

It is a pleasure to host guests with an interest in the history of this area and the story about George Brooks. I was fortunate to find this property in 1999. I discovered historic artifacts that were left at the house by George plus the photos and stories from relatives and friends - it painted a picture of a truly remarkable man. This is the only black or African-American residence designated as an historic site by the Talbot County Government. You can read about the history of this house and George Brooks House on our web site. During this pandemic, we work hard to provide six feet or more of separation between couples visiting our inn and wear masks when interacting with guests, at check-in, and while serving breakfast. So for my new friends from Philadelphia, thanks for posting a great review and we look forward to seeing you next year.

I booked over the weekend of 8/22 - 8/24/20 for a weekend getaway for my wife's birthday. The Innkeeper, Will, went out of his way to make our experience special. He reached out to me prior to our arrival to suggest we move to a larger room with a hot tub overlooking the pool (great advice). He arranged a beautiful big bouquet of roses and bottle of top champagne for my wife upon our arrival. I was very impressed with the safety precautions in place to address the current pandemic. Disposable masks were available at the entrance for any guest that may not have had their own, hand sanitizers were available throughout the property along with social distancing markers on the floor to remind guests to respect the CDC guidelines. Our meal times were staggered to reduce guests seated at any time and all guests were seated at socially distracted settings spread out across the dining spaces both indoors and outdoors based upon your preference. Each breakfast was an impressive culinary experience! I particularly enjoyed the breakfast on our last day, and when I complimented Will, he took the time to engage in conversation with us and shared his "secret ingredient" of the dish. The outdoor area is peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful pool, hot tub and gardens. This was our third visit to the George Brooks house and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in St Michaels! Thanks to the staff at George Brooks House for another wonderful getaway. For anyone considering a trip to the Eastern Shore, I highly recommend you pay a visit to Will and the staff at the George Brooks House B&B!

This guest like so many others find what we do to provide an exceptional B&B experience sets us apart from other inns. We are not perfect - but we strive to be perfect in the most important aspects of an inn - the comfort of the bedroom, the breakfast, the pool, hot tub, bikes and "the little things" - cold drinks and coffee service available around the clock, York peppermint patties and chocolates, and extensive DVD movie library. Our housekeeping at times may not be perfect (cobwebs can pop up overnight) and we may not be able to pick up pool towels and coffee mugs around the pool until after breakfast. But we provide pool towels and replenish the bottled water and sodas several times each day. Not many inns have all of these amenities, and there is a limit on how often during the day we can go around tidying up the pool area. We try to cook "from scratch" every morning - from stove to the plate and served. We don't prepare most food in advance and refrigerate for hours. We try to use local peaches and grow our own tomatoes. It is nice to see some guests can tell the difference! Thank you for the great review > > Will Workman, Innkeeper
