The George Brooks House is a beautifully restored home mixing the charm of an old home with many features you'd find in a modern home ... and that's because it was such a MAJOR restoration. The photos from pre-2001 look like the house was hit by a hurricane. Our room and maybe all the rooms have your own bathroom and large Jacuzzi. The bed and furnishings were really nice. Breakfasts were delicious and the location prefect because it is a large property with cottages, pool, terrace, parking and large hot tub (which we used as biking). Will is a great host and expert in hospitality. He went above and beyond. We had a great time there and in town.

Thank you for your very positive review Frank! We love hosting people that appreciate the pool, hot tub and gardens along the B&B you would expect as your wife put you on long bike rides (an endurance test?), to see you enjoying our hot tub after those bike rides makes all the work we do worthwhile.

We enjoyed immensely our stay at the George Brooks House B&B, which is very well appointed with excellent bedrooms, each graced with a jacuzzi. The B&B also has a very nice outdoor pool and is dog friendly. Breakfast is personally prepared and served by the host and owner Will Workman, who is very knowledgeable of all the tourist attractions in the St. Michael's area.

One of the things that experienced B&B guests notice is the interaction with the innkeeper(s) and how they assist with dinner recommendations, attractions in the area, bike routes, etc. You don't get that level of service at a chain hotel/motel! This guest also noted how we work with guests that have dietary restrictions (gluten free or vegan) or special dietary requirements. B&B Inns often have a "set breakfast" to serve all of the guests at one seating, but you can ask for a special breakfast - just let the innkeeper know in advance.

We spent 2 nights and found every aspect of the stay over the top. 3 course breakfast ( regular and vegetarian) were great. 24 hour cold sodas, water and coffee perfect, not to mention the many bowls of candy around the inn. Beautiful rooms, ours was a king with pvt bath. COVID rules enforced but replacement towels always available. Dog friendly. The tiled 25 foot pool and hot tub were welcomed after a hot day in town. The inn-keeper Will was great. Gave us a lecture and showed video of this remarkable historic home that he renovated. Even had electric car charger available. Discount tickets for local activities were offered. Don't miss this hidden gem. We'll be back.

Thanks for your great review! I go through a lot of candy - York mint patties at the coffee bar and a large bowl of assorted chocolates on the table in our parlor near the entrance. Seems that our guests like to dig their hand in our candy bowl coming in and going out. I wonder what I spend in a year on candy? Our outdoor pool is 20 by 40 with a 5 foot depth in the center and large set of steps at both ends. The in-ground hot tub has a 10 foot diameter with the same decorative tile as the pool Lots of teak furniture to relax around the pool and enjoy our sunny weather. We often show the "Home & Garden TV' video about this house and George Brooks - make sure you ask me to show it to you and share some of the remarkable stories about George. We are pleased to recommend restaurants in this area and to provide discount tickets to two of the major attractions in our town. Come stay with us when your travels bring you to St. Michaels and see what this guest felt sets our inn apart from the others.

The Inn feels like home, very warm and welcoming. Our room was wonderful, the breakfast were excellent. Will the innkeeper was wonderful and took the time to acquaint us with the inn and the history. The surrounding gardens and pool were beautiful.

As this guest noted, we are much more than your typical B&B. Sitting on 8.5 acres of land just 1/2 mile outside of the town's historic district, we have a lovely pool and hot tub with extensive gardens. The history of this house and George Brooks is an inspiring story of a descendant of slaves from the plantation at the end of our road. George scraped together enough money as a teenage to start his own business with a horse and wagon. When the local dairy was started in the late 19th century, George started delivering milk, eggs and ice to the homes in this area. When trucks became available prior to WWI, George buys a truck and convinces Mr. Green who had the ice house across the road to award George the exclusive contract to deliver ice to all the seafood packing houses in town and out at Tilghman Island. George had two strong cash businesses that carried his extended family and friends through the depression.

A perfect getaway My wife and I decided after a terrible 1 1/2 years pretty much home bound we needed a little change of scenery. We didn’t want to travel longer than 2 hrs from home and wanted a place conscious of virus precautions. Making the reservation was very easy. The innkeeper had even provided his cell phone, Assyrian easy reservation process. We asked for the 1st floor and the photo did not lie. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Pool was lovely with a covered porch. All day access to cold drinks and coffee. Breakfast was casual but very tasty. Almost to order. No complaints at all. Only reason not 5 stars shower floor a little slippery. We would come back if we return to St Michaels. It was an ideal getaway

Almost perfect . . .we use mosaic tile on the bathroom floors (lots of grout joints) and our showers have mosaic tile or a molded fiberglass pan so you can walk on them with wet feet . . . but this guest found their bathroom shower (tile) slippery. Whenever we get a complaint (constructive feedback) from a guest, we investigate and determine what needs to be done to "fix the problem". In this case, the mosaic tile floor was not a problem. If you are older and "nervous about slippery floors", ask the innkeeper for a second bath mat to cover more of the tile when you get out of the shower or a special mat for use in the shower itself. So Howard, we are ready for your return visit with an "anti-slip" mat for the shower!
