When you meet Carolee and Phil, it's like they've known you all of your lives. They could not have been more gracious of hosts. Their home is the oldest house in St. Michaels and they know the history of, not only their home, but the town also. The house is located on Cherry St., which is right up the street from the dock where the maritime museum and the famous Crab Claw restaurant is located, which is a must to visit while there. Great breakfast and great conversation in the morning. Carolee and Phil just love to hear about your lives and stories, and don't mind telling you about theirs. All in all, you will have a memorable experience at the Snuggery..
This absolutely charming little B & B is off the main street, nestled among other homes. It is less than a block from everything, yet the location is quiet and peaceful. We were greeted by the owners, Phil and Carolee, who are just the sweetest folks you could ever meet. The home is lovely and immaculate. Our guest room on the 2nd floor was beautiful and comfortable. The rate for our stay was quite reasonable and included a delicious breakfast prepared by Chef Phil. Of note was his attention to my wife's allergies, which we had conveyed to him prior to our stay. I simply can't say enough good things about our hosts - they go out of their way to welcome you and ensure that you have a great visit. They make you feel like family! There is only one place we would ever stay on a return trip to St. Michaels - The Snuggery.…
My wife and I stayed at The Snuggery for our anniversary and it was an absolutely amazing stay! The owners, Phil and Carolee, are some of the best hosts you could ask for. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom, which has a private bathroom as well. Perfect amount of space and everything was 100% clean upon our arrival. The breakfast each morning was absolutely amazing - Phil, you are one great cook my friend! If you are looking for a nice weekend getaway with your significant other, friends, or family, I would highly suggest St. Michaels. The restaurants/bars are fantastic, the shops are great, and everything is walkable. We can't wait to come back.
What an amazing experience! I traveled with my Dad to the Eastern Shore for the Waterfowl Festival in Easton. We happened upon this lovely Bed and Breakfast in historic St Michaels. Not only was it within a short walk to the town center, we could also walk to the harbor which was a few minutes walk in the other direction. We walked into The Snuggery and it immediately felt like home. The rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Phil and Carolee were wonderful hosts. They served us the most unbelievable breakfast each morning. The toiletries in the bathroom like makeup remover, etc were a nice touch. We liked the fact that we had our own space and privacy as the hosts did not enter our rooms once we checked in. However, if we needed extra towels or anything else, Phil and Carolee were right there to accommodate. I can't say enough about our visit and our wonderful hosts. We can't wait to go back next year with the entire family! June from Atlanta, Georgia…
We decided to take a trip to St. Michaels to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary this past weekend. Unfortunately, I waited until the week before to find a place to stay. The first several places I called were booked, but fortunately, one of the other B&B owners suggested I call the Snuggery. Since I hadn't contacted them yet, I gave it a shot...and they had a room available! Whew. My wife and I really had no idea what to expect since we'd never been to St. Michaels before, but I can honestly say in hindsight that our trip wouldn't have been nearly as special if it weren't for the hospitality and local knowledge of Phil and Carolee, the Snuggery's proud owners. Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast that took into account the dietary restrictions we shared ahead of time. They also provided a nice little fridge full of beer, water, and soft drinks, which I thought was a nice touch. We took Phil's and Carolee's advice several times on which restaurants and/or activities to check out, and were never once disappointed. The Snuggery is the oldest house in the town, and perhaps the most centrally located. Everything we wanted to do was within a short walk. The room was very comfortable and private (we stayed in the room downstairs). Carolee and Phil did NOT enter our room at any point while we were there...which I considered a major positive, not a negative, in contrast to the review a previous guest left. That same review also mentioned that the room wasn't clean, and based that opinion partially on their observation that some cosmetics from a previous guest were left in the room. Our experience and impression was much different. The room was spotless, and we got the sense that the cosmetics were left by the owners, not a prior guest, as a convenience to guests. This was confirmed when I asked the owners about it. Anyway, it was an amazing, magical weekend, and we feel that the Snuggery, Phil and Carolee (and their lovely niece Audrey who was visiting for the weekend) were a wonderful part of the experience!…
