My husband and I just came back from celebrating our anniversary over the weekend at this Inn. We had the absolutely best stay, from the cozy, welcoming and relaxing room to the FABULOUS breakfasts. Tara is an amazing cook, even though she doesn't think crab cakes are for breakfast!! ( She made a crab cake eggs benedict our first morning that was out of this world.) The area is gorgeous and the Inn is part of Historic St. Mary's city, the first capital of Maryland, plenty of history also. We will definitely have to plan another visit to this wonderful Inn and the amazing Innkeeper.

It was a very relaxing and quiet stay, exactly what we needed. The host was amazing. We did some local sightseeing and this location was ideal for the weekend. The breakfast was delicious and the room was large and comfortable overall.

We arrived at the Inn at Brome Howard after a long day of driving down the Western Shore of Maryland. We were welcomed by Tara the innkeeper as we were parking our car and that first friendly welcome set the tone for our overnight stay. The Inn is architecturally wonderful, with beautiful open rooms and an amazing setting. Although the building has been moved from it's original location in Historic St. Mary's City, the new siting is so well done you might never know. I particularly liked the alle of trees at the entrance. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we loved that the furniture, while not original, was much more interesting that standard hotel issue. Tara was very helpful in giving us recommendations on where to have dinner, though we ultimately found something on Yelp. Finally, we had a delicious hot breakfast the next morning b.fore heading on our way. We really enjoyed our stay.

We were looking for a quiet, no stress getaway for our anniversary weekend and we were NOT disappointed. We arrived on Friday night to find our room waiting for us. The room was so beautiful and very much in keeping with the 1800's time period that it dates to. We had a wonderful evening and slept soundly on the comfortable bed. In the morning, we met our hostess, Tara and her adorable children. Tara served us a breakfast that was delicious and plentiful and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our visit. We also enjoyed interacting with her beautiful children. The room was very comfortable and the grounds were well-kept. The air conditioner was new and worked great, especially appreciated since it was such a hot, muggy weekend. The WiFi was strong, which was a huge plus, and we didn't even miss the lack of a television in the room, in fact we appreciated no television. If you want a loud, party place, this is not for you, but if you want to truly get away from it all, while enjoying comfort, and a friendly hostess in a simply stunning place, you will definitely enjoy your time here. I could not possibly recommend this place more!

My husband and I stayed at The Inn at Brome Howard for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The innkeeper was warm and friendly and the room was absolutely beautiful. It felt like being able to spend the night in a house museum--and the views of the river were to die for. I could have sat up looking out the window for hours. The one problem we had was that the heat is currently having problems and there was a cold snap overnight that the space heater in the room couldn't handle. They were very apologetic and gave us a discount for the trouble, but it seems that there's currently an issue as far as getting the built-in heating to work again and that leave the rooms VERY cold if the outside temperature drops too much. If you are planning on booking a stay over winter, definitely call first and see if the heating issue has been solved. Other than that one problem, however, it was a perfect, lovely stay. I'd highly recommend it for anyone traveling through St. Mary looking for a relaxing, romantic place to stay.
