An amazing getaway with superb hosts. We absolutely loved the story telling about the history of the B&B. However, Maggie, Rosie and Baila stole our hearts. Their (house dogs) were great hosts as well & they gave us personal tours of the property . The food was delicious. Can’t say enough about the exceptional quality of service. Thank you for everything! Rock Hall Rocks!!
Lovely Inn situated on 40 peaceful and meticulously well-kept acres. Nice walk to the water, lovely yard with hammock, swing and outdoor furniture. The breakfast is great and the owners are jovial and full of information. Bonus are the three friendly dogs following you around the grounds! JoAnn and Jim have nice little touches like the free beer and wine in the library, welcoming chocolates on the bed and robes to use after you use the whirlpool bathtub. Nice overnight visit! We will be back!
Lucky to spend one night in the Pond Cottage. Nice size, extremenly clean room providing a coffee maker and fridge.which we put to good use. The purpose of our trip was to visit the Eastern Shore Wildlife Center but the highlight was our stay at this beautiful inn. The owner Jim was very friendly and gracious. Their 3 dogs greeted us upon our arrival and one of them, Rosie, became a wonderful companion on our walk through the property and while having morning coffee on the deck of the cottage. Fresh baked cookies and wine are available throughout the evening and you can use the beautiful living room area which is stocked with books, games and puzzles. I think this will be a wonderful place to hunker down during the colder months. Since there was only one other couple staying while we were there, we were given a voucher to Java Rock, a coffee/breakfast/lunch venue in town. The voucher was generous so we were able to enjoy a lunch sandwich instead of breakfast which was a good size serving to hold us until dinner. Will be recommending this inn to my friends for a place to have a great, relaxing stay.…
Iconic country setting with beautiful, manicured grounds located just outside downtown Rock Hall. Upon arrival, we were greeted and treated like family. Loved the charming labs who were friendly and roamed about. A beautiful tour with a bit of history was learned as we strolled to our private cottage. We had an opportunity to relax, explore, and meet some remarkable people. Brunch was lovely. Highly recommended and would absolutely stay again. Thank you.
We stayed in the quaint Garden Cottage that offered everything we needed. The retro kitchen was delightfully useful, the bed was comfortable and we loved sitting in our backyard relaxing under the shade trees! Our hosts Jim and Joann were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The property is stunning, the staff is so friendly! I am looking forward to another visit in the future!
We stayed for one night at the inn. We stayed in the Zen room, one of the cottages on the property. The room is clean and very well appointed with a kitchenette with coffee, tea and a refrigerator, a small patio outside overlooking the fields, a comfortable bed and separate airconditioning system. For us the coffee maker and separate airconditioning were great features, as we have our room warmer than most in the summer, and coffee first thing in the morning is a must. The property is tranquil, and very well maintained. It’s lovely to take a stroll around the fields and to the dock by the water. Breakfast is very good, you can sit outside or inside. The 8.30 start time was a bit rough for us. All and all we had a fabulous stay and will be back.
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and ended up extending our stay by an extra day! The property is absolutely gorgeous, the Innkeepers (Jim and Joanne) are very friendly and hospitable and the room/cottage that we stayed in were clean, quiet and comfortable. We originally booked a room in the main house where we stayed for two nights. After one of the cottages opened up, we moved into the Farm Cottage for two more nights. Both accommodations were great, but we really enjoyed the cottage as we could cook our own food (if we wanted to), have a little more space to spread out and the best part - we could host the Innkeepers dogs - Rosie and Bayla! My husband and I are very much animal people, so we really enjoyed having the dogs around! There is a third dog, Maggie, but she keeps to herself. Breakfast was delicious as were the homemade chocolate chip cookies!!! We hope to get back to this Inn again.....SOON! We absolutely loved it! Thank you to Jim and Joanne, the housekeeping staff and to the pooches!…
Enjoyed an incredible stay. My husband and I were looking for a relaxing weekend away with our 6-year old son. The inn fit the bill perfectly! The property is very large, quiet and private. The property is very well-maintained. We stayed in a cottage, which was great with a kid as we had a very large bedroom and separate living room with pull-out couch. The cottage had a kitchenette and gas fireplace that you could enjoy both from the whirlpool tub and living room. It also had a small deck with two adirondack chairs. The cottage was beautifully decorated and very clean. A great escape from a hot summer day. As we went in July, it was buggy at night on the deck - so definitely bring bug spray! Complimentary water, soda, beer and wine and chocolate chip cookies were all available in the main house and were a very welcome addition to our stay. The saltwater pool was so pleasant and where we spent much of our time. It was great for our son as he could stand in the shallower end (3 feet), but it went all the way to 9 feet, so a range of depths to please everyone. Towels are provided at the pool which is very convenient. We borrowed the kayaks one day and rowed up the creek to the bay - really enjoyed it and the kayaks were in good condition and easy to access. Breakfast was included and served buffet style. The food was all homemade and there was variety in the main dish each day. Although there were different places to sit (inside at main table, outside on patio, inside at living room table), my only one minor complaint about the inn is that the tables are set up so you likely have to sit with others (assuming the inn is fairly full). Some people love this, but I prefer choosing whether I want to eat with others or not. As we brought our son, we are well aware that there are likely others that may not want to share a table with another person's kid (as we would not want to have to do if we were traveling just the two of us!) And we often enjoy a relaxing breakfast instead of having to make conversation. Just a personal preference, but something I think people should be aware of when booking their stay. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to those looking for a relaxing stay near the Chesapeake!…
Joanne & Jim are wonderful hosts of their beautiful and spacious B&B. It was truly the best weekend away! The house & grounds are so tastefully appointed with a country elegance that is also easy & comfortable. Looked forward each morning to the delicious & abundant homemade breakfast too! We enjoyed strolling the rambling grounds, heading into nearby historic Chestertown for the Saturday farmers market, hanging out & listening to music in the house library with complimentary wine after a day out, & soaking up the sun & shade in and around the lovely pool. Highly recommend Huntingfield Creek, and Rock Hall in general, and will definitely be back again! Awesome B&B experience!
What a great place! Beautiful grounds and accommodations, great breakfast, very peaceful and relaxing. The owners provide everything you could possibly need, including great conversation. Can't wait to go back.
