Inn at Huntingfield Creek, an historic, waterfront farm-estate in quaint Rock Hall, Maryland features upscale and romantic accommodations, family and pet-friendly cottages and private-event retreat facilities. Situated on Kent County's oldest land parcel, Huntingfield Manor was the hallmark of a 1,200-acre estate deeded by Lord Baltimore to the area's original settler, Thomas Ringgold. Ideal getaway from 'big-city blues' and the perfect setting for country-chic weddings, group meetings or reunions.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
The Inn is beautifully situated down a long drive , among soybean fields and with beautiful grounds. Jim and Joanne are wonderful hosts. Breakfast buffets were delicious and varied-poached eggs and hash one day scrambled, with roasted potatoes another, all beautifully presented. Bacon the best I ever had! Home made coffee cake, fresh fruits and Keto granola! We loved their dogs who greeted us every day-Maggie, Baylor and Rosie! The pool was perfect size and temperature, just the leaves needed to be removed . Comfortable beds and the softest pillows made sleeping come easy. Sitting in the library , perusing their books and reading our own on comfortable sofas. Nice choice of free beverages. They have a beautiful piano in the front room and I enjoyed playing songs on it every day. So happy you sang, JoAnne!

it is gorgeous, spacious and very much like a private resort. our inn keepers were wonderful in every way and many extra touches abound throughout the property. we could ride our bikes or theirs and we used the kayaks in the bay and loved on their beautiful loving exceptionally trains pups which was so lovely. breakfast was delicious and plentiful. they provided small fridges and coffee makers in each room which was so appreciated as well as water bottles, beer, wine and the most delicious huge salted chocolate chip cookies in the library gathering space. there were multiple locations to gather and relax inside and especially outside. all beautiful and so comfortable. we will definitely return!!

Lucky to spend one night in the Pond Cottage. Nice size, extremenly clean room providing a coffee maker and fridge.which we put to good use. The purpose of our trip was to visit the Eastern Shore Wildlife Center but the highlight was our stay at this beautiful inn. The owner Jim was very friendly and gracious. Their 3 dogs greeted us upon our arrival and one of them, Rosie, became a wonderful companion on our walk through the property and while having morning coffee on the deck of the cottage. Fresh baked cookies and wine are available throughout the evening and you can use the beautiful living room area which is stocked with books, games and puzzles. I think this will be a wonderful place to hunker down during the colder months. Since there was only one other couple staying while we were there, we were given a voucher to Java Rock, a coffee/breakfast/lunch venue in town. The voucher was generous so we were able to enjoy a lunch sandwich instead of breakfast which was a good size serving to hold us until dinner. Will be recommending this inn to my friends for a place to have a great, relaxing stay.

No breakfast on 3 of the 4 days we stayed. We were given "coupons" to drive into town and get an "build your own" egg sandwich at a coffee joint owned by the innkeeper. When I asked about this, innkeeper Jim said it was an "issue of energy" (too tired to do what he's been paid to do?)
Pesticides sprayed around guest cottages. The inn's grounds are fields that the innkeeper leases to a local farmer. These fields are next to the guest cottages. On the second morning of our stay, the farmer drove a truck up and down, spraying pesticide over the fields. The pesticide was still in the air when we left. When I expressed concern, innkeeper Jim shrugged and said these are farmlands.
The main house is lovely. Little touches like reusable water bottles, fresh baked cookies are nice. The cottage was clean, bathroom is nice, furnishings are basic. We used the pool once (before the pesticide was sprayed) and it was nice. We did not use housekeeping.
Sadly, we were ready to leave at the end of our stay. There aren't a lot of upscale lodging choices in this region. More competition would be a good thing for this inn.

We are so sad that your stay wasn't up to expectations. We do try to use the synergy of owning a coffeehouse cafe to give us a little break when we only have a couple guests. Most guests truly enjoy the experience at Java Rock and getting a slice of small-town life. The Eastern Shore is a major agricultural area and though we work closely with our farmer, we can't always control when conditions will dictate the application of herbicides. They are aimed at weed containment and pose no harm to guests. Though we were referred to as innkeepers, we are actually inn-owners and take our business seriously. We extended these guests a gratis gift certificate as a way to apologize for their unhappiness and hope they will consider a stay in the future.

The property and the owners were lovely. The breakfasts, free wine and cookies were the best. The walk to the dock and free kayak use was very appreciated. However, the room was not up to par. Used soap left in the shower. Items left on the floor when we checked in. Shower and tub were not cleaned well, we were afraid to use the tub. To top it off, there were several chipped coffee mugs and plates. We left them out so they could replace them and were hoping they wouldn't call to try to charge us for leaving broken mugs and dishes that we took out of the Frankly, the decor and quality of the furnishings were more like a rustic retreat than high end. Overall, we don't think the accommodations were a pleasant experience and would not go back. I hope they address their cleaning and maintenance of their rooms. We were a bit afraid to report issues at the time as the staff had access to our room and seemed not happy when doing their work.

We must admit being a bit taken aback by comments by this reviewer. Not only are our housekeepers well aware of our cleanliness standards, we also have our manager check each and every accommodation before guests check in as a matter of protocol. I immediately went into this cottage after reading the review and found all supplies to be well-maintained, but was surprised to find 2 decorative coffee mugs (not ours!) with store tags still attached that indeed were chipped. They were clean and stashed towards the rear of the china cabinet. I can only guess that they were left sometime the past, washed and tucked away. On another point, I can't begin to imagine how both a trained housekeeper and our manager could miss a used bar of soap and if so, we humbly apologize. There was ample opportunity to express their concerns with us, the lovely owners as we are always available to our guests. Lastly, this cottage is a heritage piece of the property, the old caretaker cottage that we have brought up to inn standards. it does have a homier feel than all the others that we have since built. Many guests request it for that very reason. This was a local triathlon weekend here and we had a number of early bookings...I truly wish this guest had another option here that they could have enjoyed more.

I would have loved to give this place a 5 rating. It is a beautiful property and makes for a relaxing getaway from the city. There are bikes to cycle around town, a private sit out on the bay, grounds to walk around or just relax on the hammock and listen to the birds. The eastern neck refuge is just about 10 mins away and makes for a nice low key outing. Our experience however was marred by the work that was being done on upgrading the internet while we were there. We stayed in one of the cottages, and on both days we had the internet technicians knock on our doors in the afternoon, just as we were trying to get our little one to nap, asking if they could do some work inside the premises. We could have of course told them to wait while we spoke to the manager, but on the first day we were already too frazzled with everything going on with our toddler to think on the spot and instead told them to come back later at a time when we knew we would head out. They worked for a while right outside a window and then when we headed out, did the work inside, probably with a window by the router open, as we got back to a cottage with several flies in it. They were back again the next day, once again in the afternoon, asking if they could work inside the cottage. This time we were better prepared and spoke to the manager, who dealt with it promptly. While I do realize we could have done this the first day, it was just not something we expected and would have been nice to just not have to deal with all of this while on vacation, especially during the pandemic.
Also while the website still says that masks are required indoors in the common area where breakfast is served, this was not the practice while we were there. None of the owners /staff/ guests were wearing masks indoors. This was not an issue though as they do have outdoor seating as well.

You have a legitimate complaint! We have breathlessly been awaiting a high speed internet connection for over 3 years. The couple days we were given for final hook-up was mid week when normally the Inn is not too busy (not so this year however). We specifically asked the installer to consult with us before entering cottages. One of the guys disregarded this and went ahead into this guest's room. We sincerely apologized and made sure it didn't happen the next day. Had we realized how disruptive this was, we would have offered some kind of compensation. As far as Covid measures are concerned, we are allowing people to decide whether to mask or not. We encourage un-vaccinated guests to mask and have installed sophisticated filtration systems in the main Inn as well as hand sanitizers pump bottles. Additionally, we have been fully vaccinated. Again we apologize and want everyone to know this was truly a one-off.

So we were once again in Rock Hal making a visit with our son who attends Washington College. Again we chose the Inn at Huntingfield as our last experience was top notch. This time however we decided to stay off property at their private 2/2 Apartment which is situated over the Java Rock Coffee shop in quaint downtown Rock Hall. Like their other choices the place was spotless and with all the amenities as advertised. We needed to cook for a pot luck event and having a full kitchen complete with mixing bowls, pans and all other major items was a must for this trip. Everything was in great working order and with grocery store within walking distance this greatly simplified our long weekend plans. The floor plan is super with a large open concept that has kitchen with raised bar, full 4 seat dining area and a great room all in one. Both bedrooms were well appointed and the Queen beds were super comfortable. Bathroom was super having a double vanity, shower and nice soaker tub. Bottom line is this place is a winner and the Coffee shop below is an added bonus. Your coffee and breakfast was free each day with the stay ( Owner of Inn own the Coffee shop and Sweet Delights shop next door) and the quality of coffee and food is on par with everything from the Inn. Jim and the team are best in class and I highly recommend this unit and all the others at the main Inn property. Thanks to Amy for making sure everything we needed was on hand! Rest assured we will see you all again soon.

Our family occupied three beautiful cottages at the Inn. The cottages had everything we needed, including good coffee. The Lavender Cottage was perfect for a couple with a baby, as a separate bedroom area was ideal for putting him down to sleep. I loved the double sided fire place in the Zen Cottage. The Farm cottage was the best place for us to gather around the big table within baby monitor distance of the Lavender Cottage. The library gathering place in the main house was beautiful and comfortable with lots of games for group diversion. What a wonderful treat to have cookies and adult beverages offered there after a long day. The breakfasts were also delicious and plentiful. Our hosts Jim and Joanne were so welcoming and personable, and had great stories about the area. My family adored the resident dogs, who loved to accompany us out to the pier overlooking a beautiful lagoon complete with a great blue heron occupant. Our stay was too short! If we lived in the area we would totally take advantage of the short commute from big city hubs to hang out often at a relaxing and peaceful getaway, especially in the quiet off season. Many thanks to our hosts for providing such a comfortable getaway for us.

We stayed for one night at the inn. We stayed in the Zen room, one of the cottages on the property. The room is clean and very well appointed with a kitchenette with coffee, tea and a refrigerator, a small patio outside overlooking the fields, a comfortable bed and separate airconditioning system. For us the coffee maker and separate airconditioning were great features, as we have our room warmer than most in the summer, and coffee first thing in the morning is a must. The property is tranquil, and very well maintained. It’s lovely to take a stroll around the fields and to the dock by the water. Breakfast is very good, you can sit outside or inside. The 8.30 start time was a bit rough for us. All and all we had a fabulous stay and will be back.

My wife and I stayed a weekend in May 2022 at this calm and serene 70 acre soybean farm B&B following an enjoyable VBT bike tour through the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland. The location was superb and the Innkeepers personable and helpful, outdone only by the welcoming committee of three family dogs that reach out to guests as they arrive, stay and depart. The ambiance is peaceful and quiet, interrupted occasionally by the sound of chirping birds and fish jumping in the still waters surrounding the Inn's rear dock facing Baltimore in the distance. Breakfast is delightful and the far sitting room holds a box of complimentary chocolate chip cookies, sodas and water for afternoon or evening snacks.
