Supposed to have celebrated a special birthday and anniversary in Europe right now....but due to Covid, looked for a safe getaway not too far from home. Liked the idea of separate cottages. We also got lucky with a beautiful fall weekend so we took advantage of what huntingfield creek could offer - kayaking (life preservers and paddles are in a building near the cottages; kayaks were by the water), biking (they had bike helmets and 3 bikes available, first come first serve), hiking, and sitting on the Adirondack Chairs on the dock, enjoying the peaceful quiet and the warm sun. Phil took us to our cottage and reassured us of their cleaning practices. He did not touch the doorknobs or anything, but guided us through the place with verbal instructions. Warm cookies were on the counter, and a bottle of merlot welcomed us as well. The woods cottage was very spacious and comfortable. It wasn’t a stand alone cottage like I had expected, but part of 3 connecting ones. We met our neighbors while walking outside, but didn’t hear a peep through the walls. Enjoyed our back deck to have coffee - dressed in the oversized robes, felt cozy in the evening with the gas fireplace, and the beds were so comfy we slept 11 hours our first night! Since they couldn’t serve us the breakfast part of the B&B due to Covid, we were offered $25 vouchers for breakfast at java rock, the cafe a couple miles away. Breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, muffins, coffee - all were tasty. (Don’t forget to visit sweet cheeks, the bakery next door for a cupcake, lemon bar, or dog treat.) Our neighbors had brought their dogs with them - not easy to find dog friendly inns. I think I’d bring our dog on our next visit. The owners, Jim and Joanne had 3 dogs. One was so friendly, he’d hang out with us on our deck so we could tickle his belly. Grounds are nice for walking, and the property sits on the water, and is not far from a wildlife refuge and the shops on Main St. I think even if the weather was terrible, we’d have been happy just relaxing in our cottage or taking a short drive to Chestertown to explore their shops. Lots of restaurants nearby too. We enjoyed eating by the water and watching the sunset at waterman’s crab house.

Peaceful respite. The hosts were very accommodating and met our every need. Enjoyed the beautiful private cove that fed into the Chesapeake bay. Their thoughtful measures to keep us safe from COVID-19 were especially appreciated. We plan on doing it again

Enjoyed our two night stay in the Farm Cottage. Very private, quiet, charming country decor, comfortable bed and nice toiletries. The grounds were peaceful and we took a quick walk to the little dock to catch a glimpse of Baltimore across the Chesapeake Bay right before sunset. Easy check-in/check-out process. Due to the pandemic we could not have the breakfast at the inn, but were instead given vouchers to the nearby town's local coffee shop. Plenty of outdoor seating at the cafe to enjoy our breakfast sandwiches, tea, and danishes. The cottage itself has a little kitchenette (no oven, no ice maker), but we were able to enjoy dinner in on our first night. The only downside was poor internet signal from very weak WI-FI. All in all we had a lovely stay, and appreciated the extra touches like complimentary cookies and wine in our room. It was a great base for our exploration of the Chesapeake Wine Trail.

Thank you! The only thing we'd like to comment upon is that with the amount of internet usage everywhere in Covid times, our decent wifi service has been less than great. But luckily, we are getting a hi-speed fiber optic wifi hook-up in the next few weeks which will make our lives much easier (and guests even happier)!

Our stay ticked all the boxes from the ability to be isolated to the need for nature and peaceful surroundings. Our lovely cottage was spacious and had everything we could need. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and sitting on the dock, and Chestertown was a quick ride up the road.

The Inn was as close to perfect as you could get. The cottage was so comfortable and extremely clean. The robes! Jim and Joanne and Phil made us feel welcome and at home. The grounds were so peaceful and relaxing, and the whole property so well-run! Everything was so easy-going from check-in to check-out. We were very impressed with our first stay and are looking forward to going back!
