This Marriott location only takes business meetings and events. I was a guest as part of a business retreat. Pros: Sleeping spaces are in cottage-type buildings. I only stayed in one of the cottages and it was extremely clean. The main area contained casual seating, a baby grand and a mini fridge with several bottles of water so guests didn't... More

The conference center is great for retreats and activities that require quiet indoor and outdoor spaces. It is a beautiful environment surrounded by gorgeous trees and nature, and adjacent to the river. The rooms are spacious with great natural light. The surrounding area is great for running, walking, and riding a bike (bicycles available fro free) If you are looking... More

Once again we brought faculty from our University to have a 3.5 day immersion retreat. This time, we only used Houghton House and we were 10 total. The hotel staff are amazing in trying to meet our needs. The chefs prepared amazing meals and breaks for us. We started the day with yoga outside (contracted with a yoga instructor from... More

This beautiful Georgian mansion is kept in all style and luxury, surrounded by beautiful gardens amidst a gorgeous landscape of farmlands, wood and rivers. It presents all the facilities and advantages a conference must have, plus the tranquility and beauty that invites to reflection, peace of mind and positive atmosphere. A perfect place in every sense.

I attended a wedding at this beautiful location. The hotel is run by Marriott and I was able to collect Marriott points for the stay. There seem to be different levels of accommodations; I think mine was on the lower end. Check in is at Houghton House which is a beautiful property. It seemed totally up to date and absolutely... Stayed at the Houghton House property and had a great experience at the conference hotel. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and pampered. The grounds are beautiful. The food was out of this world...try the hot mustard barbecue sauce!

I was recently here for a conference. The property is beautiful especially that it was October and the leaves were wonderful fall colors. I think that as a retreat location it is fine but for a meeting with people traveling from across the country it is far removed. I had come into BWI and then took a $160 cab ride... More

We are happy to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, especially our beautiful setting. We do understand that our location is not suited for all types of meetings, but for retreats we are very popular. As a group only conference center, we are utilized by Meeting Planners that wants a distraction free environment, allowing their attendees to... More

Great location...right on the Wye River. Beautiful property. Wish I could buy it and update all of the hotel rooms. Outdated, cold, bugs in the rooms. The conference rooms and staff were great. With some work, this could be an exceptional property. I have so many ideas for this place now that it's for sale.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed our location on the Wye River. It appears that you stayed at the Wye Woods campus of our conference centers. This campus was the first portion of our property to be utilized for conferences, and as such, the oldest. This section is now permanently closed. Our two remaining campuses, The Houghton House, and... More

I stayed in the conference area by the late that had separate groups of cabin like rooms (299 i think was the address). There was no drink machines, ice, or alcohol available at most... More
