We thought this was the place for a weekend get away, how wrong..Our first room was missing some essential items but we didn't realize this room was only half clean. It didn't have towels, that we had to ask for and the bathroom had items left from the previous customer. The most disgusting thing was the bed....THE SHEETS HAD NOT BEEN CHANGE....we would have left but it was to late at night to find another place to stay. They did put us in another room, the room had been tended to but things where only a little better....The internet was awful, the furniture was old and worn out, none of the lamps in the living area had turn on switches, the entire shutter slide door was broken to the balcony, the towels were old and worn out and the noise from the people up stairs was pretty unbearable.....The only good thing I can say about this experience is the view.....I will never go back or refer anyone to this property.…
Every room has a view of either the Potomac River on one side or St. Mary's River on the other. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Internet access was sporadic and TV reception not clear on several channels however these "issues" were worth tolerating because of the views. The breakfast had very limited choices and one morning there was no milk.
Friends invited us to birthday party that included overnight stay at the inn plus dinner next door. We were surprised to find good accommodations in this remote area. Positives: water views on both sides, upscale free breakfast, large rooms, HVAC must be on the roof so very quiet, rooms clean. bed very comfortable, towels brand new, rooms very clean. Nitpicks: furnishings old. Bedside table lamp wouldn't plug into three prong outlet (lamp two prong). Room had strong disinfectent (clorox ?) order. Thin walls, neighbor conversations heard.
The sofa bed had seen much better days. I sat on it and I had to struggle to get up out of it because the springs were soooo worn out and it was so DIRTY. It looked as if it had never been cleaned. The roll out sitee looked the same but it was still solid to sit on. The kitchen area had not been cleaned. There was sticky residue on the counter and filthy dirt in the crevices on the outer refrigerator door. Nothing that Windex and a paper towel or cleaning cloth wouldn't take 5 minutes to clean. The far side of the shutter slide door was broken to the balcony. There was no sink stopper top in the bathroom sink. thank goodness from years of travel I carry my own rubber stopper since most don't still work in the sinks in most hotels, I could hear a water drip in the wall from the bed at the bathroom. AWFUL INTERNET! because it was none. Husband was told it's always breaking down. I submitted my concerns to the reception on duty Wednesday the 13th at checkout but she was too busy on her personal call to discuss my concerns. The bad part is, it’s a great place to stay for its water views and photos. I would like to return if they would get these thing and other complaints fixed. The main 2 are extreme lack of cleanliness and the INTERNET.…
The view is amazing you can't get a bad room in this hotel both sides are water front and you can either wake up to a gorgeous sunrise or go to bed with an equally beautiful sunset. The staff was very nice. Also a decent breakfast in the morning. The room was very clean loved the shampoo. The floors were a bit squeaky but I'm assuming it's from the water that sometimes rises on the peninsula. We woke up early each morning the sunrises were worth it. There were nice chairs to sit on out on the balcony and a fishing dock on the back half of the hotel. Also with a really good seafood restaurant next door this was a nice retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Definitely will come back.
