For our 48th anniversary, I booked three nights at the Robert Morris Inn. We love history and portions of the building were built in 1710 and ooze history. We stayed in the main building and the rooms and attached tavern are very nice. A very nice breakfast from the menu is offered in the tavern eat morning. A couple of... More

Nice place; had a glitch at check-in (the office staff leaves at 5, leaving late check-ins to deal with the restaurant staff, who are very nice--especially Abby--and used to checking-in guests), and they gave us an upgrade to a King size room. A couple of surprises; the halls on the second and third floor are not air-conditioned, and it gets... More

We stayed at the Inn this past weekend for our 33rd. Anniversary celebration.I can't say enough good about our visit! Eleanor was amazing, took care to make sure we stayed in Bottle Cottage 1, as stairs are difficult for me. She even gave us suggestions as to where to go in Easton. Don't miss The Hatchery, an amazing artistry shop.... More

We were touring Oxford and needed to cool down. We stopped in for some beer which hit the spot. It was too hot to sit out. The bartender was attentive and my husband's joke caught her by surprise. He drank his beer fast and I commented with him saying he had a holes in his glass!!

What an amazing place. So full of history. Eleanor checked us in and was so nice and helpful. She made us feel very welcome. Stayed in Room #5. Small room but we didn't care. We were going to be out exploring all day. Food was really good...had breakfast and dinner there. Cute little town. Went to The Masthead at Pier... More

For most of us who experience the fast, congested pace of life, we have an appetite for a break. The Robert Morris Inn is extraordinary. It is a remarkable place ... rich in history and beauty ... and has exceptional food and ambiance. Situated on a glistening, gorgeous river, it is unmatched in its' invitation to a more peaceful state... More

I love staying at this place. This year they couldn't have been better. I bought a cooler of crabs, and they helped me keep it cool til the next day. The young lady at the bar admitted she was new, but made up for it with her charm. The young fellow at breakfast hauled my crabs to the car. In... More

We stayed the night in the Admiral Bottle cottage and it was really nicely laid out and comfortable, with a good mattress. Great uninterrupted view to the bay! The included breakfast was excellent and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant short getaway. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Robert Morris Inn for one night and really enjoyed it. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and wanted to just get away for a day/night. We both love history and had never been to Oxford so it seemed like a good choice. The Inn is fantastic - clean, charming, maintains its historical... More

What an opportunity to stay at a 300 year old property in such a beautiful settling. However, to enjoy your stay at the Robert Morris Inn you must be both a flexible and forgiving guest, because the property does show its age. It will neither be the cleanest property at which you have ever stayed nor the quietest. "Pristine" is... More

Vacance2006 Thank you for choosing to stay in our Historic Inn, it is indeed rare to find such a building relatively unchanged save for some modern necessities. Many of those upgrades include our fire alarm system and we are not sure how you missed the permanently lit Fire exit signs. In a 1710 hallway they are pretty glaring and are... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. More history is located here. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming. Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service. ... more   less
