This was our first time visiting Oxford, Maryland. My wife and I are very glad we chose to stay at Robert Morris Inn. From check-in to check-out, the front desk staff and their restaurant employees treated us with exceptional hospitality. They are all very friendly and helpful! They upgraded our room to a cottage adjoining the main hotel building, since...

My husband and I had a relaxing overnight stay at the Inn. We had a charming room featuring a comfy King size bed and water view. One of the highlights was dinner in the Inn's restaurant. We enjoyed the crab cakes and Eastern shore favorite Smith Island cake. Although it was not on the menu we mentioned that we had...

Weekend away with husband in early March 2017. Staff was fabulous and very friendly, food at dinner and breakfast was all quite good. Spent 2 nights in Bottle Cottage Suite 2, spacious room, great views, but really needs some help. Looks like Grandma's 1950's lake cottage, fabrics faded, wallpaper peeling in spots, just looking tired. Two quick fixes would make...

We found a Living Social deal for this inn. Since it was my husband's birthday, I thought this would be a nice getaway and a chance to visit the Eastern shore. Meals in the tavern were wonderful and the staff was very attentive.

Great place to stay. The building is historic and dates to the colonial era. The food in the dining room is delicious and shows off Chef Mark Salter's international flair. He routinely utilizes the best from local farmer's markets. On this trip I took advantage of one of Chef Salter's series of Cookery Demonstrations (with food!). Oxford itself is interesting...

This is a great place to stay! The service was excellent. The restaurant was absolutely delicious! Very historic. Beautiful view. Rooms are historic. No TV and no telephones. This really added to the history of the inn. All rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Restaurant on the 1st floor. The town is beautiful!

We stayed here for our honeymoon in 1976, and returned for our 40th anniversary in December 2016. The new owners (since 2010) know what a treasure they have in...

From the moment you drive up to the Robert Morris Inn in historic Oxford, MD, you feel like you've stepped back in time. Checking in: "I'll get your credit card when you leave, I don't need it now," then you get your room keys - actual keys kept in little cubby holes behind the desk; just like you see in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. More history is located here. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming. Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service. ... more   less
