Great location right on the Delaware line. Lots of parking and easy access to the beach. Very friendly staff! The rooms are nothing amazing but it works for a short stay. The rooms were clean for the most part but the kitchen wasn’t the best. Dirty dishes and broiling pan was left with food on it. There was also food left in the cabinets and freezer from previous guest.
When we arrived at the hotel we were given our room we went directly to the room. First problem : when we tried to open the door it was very difficult. Seems they had put some new card reader system on the door and didn't fit it properly. My 9-year-old son couldn't open the door. Problem number two : in room safe was not operational. Problem number three : The patio door was hard to open my wife and nine-year-old son could not open it. Later that night the patio door became unoperational nobody could open it.Talk to maintenance about making the repairs they came the next day which was great but. Whatever lubrication they used on the patio door was very obnoxious and made my wife ill. My wife asked several times to be moved which they would would not do. Finally at 10:30 p.m. that night they got us another room and we got to move to a new room. Pretty much the same problem with the entrance door sticking The in room safe again didn't work. in our room was supposed to be a kitchenette which was supposed to be fully stocked which it was not. For the money that we paid we should have gotten much better service and a much better room. Very disappointed.…
Pretty much what you except at an older Quality Inn. Nothing fancy, but good size rooms, clean, and decent breakfast (though you have to take it with you for now). The hotel staff is very friendly, and the location just a block from the beach is terrific. This hotel is right on the border of OC and Fenwick so good can visit both. Good size pool with a outdoor bar attached. Hotel was not over crowded mid-week. I got a very good rate so for me this was worth it over staying at a higher rated place for $100/night more. Not quite 4 stars but if i could give it 3.5 I could.
We as a family of 6 (3 adults, 3 children ages 7-11) were very pleased with our 6 night stay at the Quality Inn & Suites Oceanblock hotel. We were attracted to this hotel because of the great location on the MD/DE border, an easy walk to the sand without crossing the highway. We also were happy to find one room to accommodate the size of our family. Our room had 2 queen sized beds plus a queen sized sofabed. There was a small kitchenette that included a small stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and a full sized refrigerator/freezer. Our room was located on the 1st floor, and found the room to be clean and fresh smelling upon our arrival. The decor is somewhat outdated and simple, but that was fine for us. Our room had a balcony with a small side view of the ocean to the right, and you could also see the Fenwick Island Lighthouse looking to the left. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. On our first night, we realized the need for additional bedding for the sofabed. My daughter called down to the front desk and within 10 minutes fresh bedding was brought to our door. Since we booked one room, we were given one free parking pass. We traveled in 2 cars, so our other car was parked on the street where there is free parking. We never had a problem finding a parking spot. The pool was enjoyed by the kids and the tiki bar was cute. There were plenty of restaurants, amusements and stores in the area. The hotel normally offers a free breakfast, but due to the current pandemic situation, the only offerings were coffee, juices, milk, some pre-packaged muffins, yogurt, cereals, etc. The hotel staff we encountered always had masks on, and most of the hotel guests did too. This hotel stay for us definitely met or exceeded our expectations. When we go on beach vacations, we typically are out for most of the day, so something like a roomy condo was not necessary for us. I would suggest bringing your own soaps/shampoo/lotions etc, as the small ones supplied by the hotel are very tiny...even for one person's use. We always bring our own, so it wasn't an issue. Also, the mattress in the sofabed could use a replacement. It worked out fine for the 2 smaller children in our family to share, but I don't think an adult would have been too comfortable on it. We would definitely consider staying here again.…
We liked the location of the hotel in proximity to the beach. It was also close to some restaurants, grab and go taco, mini-golf, shops,etc.. The pool & tiki bar deck area was very nice. Parking was easy. Food at the tiki bar was good. Pool was clean. We didn’t like the room that much because the sofa was old and had stains on it. The bathroom had a hair on the door by the towel hooks. The kitchen was dated. The hotel had a fire alarm go off at 11:15pm so we had to go outside in our pajamas for 40 minutes until the fire department came and cleared the area for occupancy. The pool patio was very rough on your feet!!! My credit card kept getting extra charges from the hotel (over $900 worth) and when I asked the front desk about it, they had no clue. My bank fixed the charges but it was very odd. I think they were understaffed because of Covid-19. I might stay there again if they update their rooms and resurface the pool area. …
