We went down for the Air Show on the beach and this was a great location. Eric was excellent and tried to get us in our room early. He was very accommodating and answered all our questions. We had an ocean view room that was clean and looked recently updated.
Location is the best thing I could say about this hotel. Large spacious rooms. First floor view of the ocean was top notch. However, the shower was disappointing (no water pressure) and the service was subpar. No room service due to Covid19 (um it's April 2022, the emergency is over). We asked for trash removal and got a new garbage bag (hanging from door knob) in return. This hotel fits the classic saying "you get what you pay for"!
It was a big disappointment the hotel was very creepy with the price i paid and i have to request 3 times for a better room and still not clean and the noise road with old elevator created a lot of noise and on the booking shows ocean front but gave us another room next to the old elevator even i told the front desk i am very senseless to the noise and he still put me to one of the worst room and than the other staff moved us away from elevator but the room full of dust and the toilet is yellow and bath tube has mold and cause me sneezing all the time. I ended up cleaning myself . And they left the vacuum outside the hallway and the trash everywhere in the elevator or in the lobby? Breakfast is cold without egg and beacon only muffins! Gee its a worst hotel i have ever been to and its not cheap either…
If you get an oceanfront room, it isn't too terrible. You're waking up to a lovely view so that good. The rooms need a serious update. End up in a city side room, ugh. Those rooms are extra small and reek of depression and sorrow. The breakfast was a lot of packaged stuff, muffins, cereal, pastry. Not worth it. Their COVID "precautions" involve rooms not being cleaned and you have to request towels, trash, etc. But I didn't see staff wearing masks or doing any extra cleaning of high contract areas. This place is too expensive for what you're not getting. Bright spot, the hotel is a about a block from the end of the boardwalk and lots of places to eat.
I booked the Econolodge for myself, my husband and our 3-year-old. We stayed for 3 nights, Fri-Sun. When we arrived, the front desk made for a quick and easy check-in. We stayed in the non-oceanfront building. We had a door facing the road on the bottom floor. The room was as basic as could be. Very small. Two double beds, a (large and nice) TV, mini fridge, microwave, small table with two chairs that barely fit, and bathroom. They said due to covid, there would be no room service, so we had to keep our room clean. They gave us a door tag to hang if we need new sheets or towels and they left them in a bag on the door. Our room became sandy quickly. The "grab and go" breakfast was a few packaged pastries: cereal, muffin, mini cinnamon rolls. Hardly anything. I picked this hotel because of 1) the price, 2) location to beach, 3) near the boardwalk, and 4) indoor and outdoor pool. Those 4 things did not disappoint. We loved being right on the beach even though we weren't in the oceanfront building. It was just 2 blocks for us to walk to the end of the boardwalk. The indoor and outdoor pool were just fine even though we barely used them. It ended up being $200/night, but for OCMD, that wasn't bad. Would I stay here again? Probably not. We were only in the room really to sleep and shower, so it was fine for us. Would I recommend it, also probably not. They could use a renovation and cleaning the room daily would help.…
Customers beware! I checked in here on May 31st for my memorial day vacation with my family. The reception person was extremely rude and seemed like he wanted to fight. I kept quite instead of escalating the situation. The next day I went to the office and tried to complain to the manager. He introduced himself as Don Wooten. Instead of listening to me he said "This conversation is over. You are complaining about my best employee." Then he wrote his name on a post-it note and gave it to me and said "This is a privately owned hotel." Amazing that a manager would treat a customer like that. I have never seen something like this. This is considered a hospitality business. Econolodge needs to do better. Unbelievable. Future customers steer clear of this place. You have been warned. PS: Rest of the staff was great and kind and they did a good job.…
Do not stay. I’m not picky but I do expect a clear room! The rooms were dirty, a pee bottle outside the door and a joint left in a room and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere!!!
Please avoid this hotel if you want to enjoy the beach! Thankfully we were only visiting for two nights. We were joined by nine other guests and no one was satisfied with their room or service. I understand that we should expect less service due to the pandemic; however, I was at least hoping the rooms would have been cleaned prior to arrival. The fridge in our room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks or a month. There was hair all over the the bathroom that surely didn't belong to me or my family. It looked as if the mop used to clean was either soiled or no sweeping was done prior to mopping. It's obviously that the cleaning staff know that supervisors aren't checking behind their work so they are milking the system. I've been to hotels in the midst of COVID-19 and had way better experiences. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the sleeper sofa was the same. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.…
Pros: Location, friendly repairman, 2 pools, price. Cons: Filthy, many broken items. Bathroom was the absolute worst I have ever seen. Long dark hairs on every white surface. I can't imagine anyone cleaning could not see them. Sofa bed was broken and sheets were dirty with pieces of cereal. Caramel corn and crumbs in between broken fridge and cabinet. Melted ice cream or something on the balcony. Air conditioner points directly at the head board of one of the beds. I didn't post any pics of the hairs because they make you want to vomit. Our fridge was not working properly, I called the desk and they replaced it the next day almost 24 hours later. Even after several complaints, there were no apologies or attempts to make things right. I get that there is no in room cleaning during your stay under current conditions, but the place obviously is not cleaned up to standard between stays.…
Unsatisfied. The service was poor. The room smelled awful. The outdoor pool water level was so low that the pumps and filters weren't on and it wasn't filtered. There was a transient sleeping on a bench outside our door one morning, then sitting in a chair by the elevators another morning. The price was high too. I won't be going there again.
