I had a room booked at the Hilton ocean suites in Ocean city, MD. I called day of checkin to see cancellation options as I wasn’t going to the beach during the hurricane and my mother lost her home in Port Charlotte, FL and I need to go help her salvage belongings. I first called at 1:00 and was given three options: stay at hotel, pay for one night ($330) as a penalty, or call back after 3 hours to see what they will offer after they’ve made a decision on the hurricane. So I called back around 6pm and was told my only option was to pay the one night penalty. I asked to switch dates of stay, and they wouldn’t even entertain the idea. The manager even said it was already 2 hours past check in, to which I told him I was told to call back after 4 to see what accommodations they were making due to the hurricane. He told me they weren’t making any exceptions, not even for visitors who we’re supposed to be coming from FL. That is horrible customer service, and he had zero sympathy. Many people were affected, and they should be trying their best to alleviate a financial burden on those impacted. I would never stay at this hotel due to this stance. Disgusting management. They should be ashamed of themselves. Needless to say I booked with Marriott for my stay in FL while I help my elderly mother whose roof is currently in a tree.…
We visit this property every year and have been doing so for over ten years. This is a full scale resort where all rooms are full Ocean Front suites with huge living spaces, full kitchen, and Balcony. The only thing you will hear at night when the door closes is the Ocean. The housekeeping and maintenance staff that is second to none. The food options here are amazing and priced right. This is Hilton Honors property that treats its members right every time. An outdoor pool for the adults with a swim up bar, another for the kids, a hot tub and indoor pool. Every member of the staff is on their game, welcoming and will help in anyway they can. From my favorite Bellhop, Phillip who greets our family every year and we share a laugh just about every day during our stay. You could pay less and stay somewhere else and not get a quarter of what you will receive here in OC MD. But the “real story” is the man that you will find at the Concierge desk. Frank B. is one of kindest gentlemen that you will find here with a rich history that will go far beyond his capabilities to make a local recommendation or restaurant reservation. Take some time getting to know Frank and I promise you will come away with far more than a great vacation, which for us and many happens every time we visit this amazing property.…
The hotel is in a great location with a spacious beach. The view from the oceanfront room was very nice. The staff was attentive and friendly. The room could use some attention: bathroom door didn’t close and the sliding door was very hard to slide. And it could use a really deep clean.
We have been traveling to the Hilton Ocean City for a 1 week vacation every September for the last 15 years but missed the last couple of years because of the pandemic. We just returned and are so pleased with the room renovations done recently.
We saw “Uncle Frank’s” pic on Trip Advisor for the Hilton OC MD. We have been fans of “Uncle Frank” since meeting him years ago at the Marriott BB - we followed “Uncle Frank” to the Hilton OC knowing that if “Uncle Frank” was at the Hilton OC this was the place to be. “Uncle Frank” is genuine, knowledgeable and ALWAYS points us in the right direction - whether fun activities or awesome dining. We were not disappointed- the accommodations were A+ as well as the entire staff. Looking forward to returning!
Rooms are always clean and comfortable, great breakfasts, bar has an amazing amount of bourbons alone to choose from, food is always well prepared and delicious. The only downside is that this hotel definitely needs some refreshing. Lobby furniture has been around for years and it shows. The living areas in the rooms are also pretty outdated. That saying, I will still stay here and I do recognize the cost that would be associated with doing over some of the worn out items. Also, wish there was an area for sitting outside to watch the ocean, not just at the pool. We will be back.
We visited the hotel for my daughter’s 16th birthday not knowing that it was bike weekend and really busy. She really wanted to eat at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, but they were booked solid. The concierge, Frank Barranco - “Uncle Frank” called the restaurant and was able to get us the reservation for my daughter’s birthday dinner. It was so nice of him to make this happen for my daughter. He went out of his way to call the restaurant himself instead of just recommending a different restaurant. Thank you, Uncle Ftank!
Uncle Frank is a highlight at the Hilton! As first time visitors to Ocean City, his approachability and knowledge of Ocean City, Cape May, and the surrounding area were thorough and varied. His recommendations of restaurants, activities, and happenings have proven exceptional. He really listens and provides thoughtful recommendations based on your unique circumstances. While we’ve enjoyed the Hilton, a well-kept lovely property, Uncle Frank helped make our time here easy to navigate, memorable, and full of fun.
Beautiful hotel and suites with so much room to spread out. Well stocked kitchen. We had an awesome time watching the moon rise every night from our balcony and the sun rise each morning as well. We ate a lot of our meals at the hotel and the food was top notch and the staff very attentive.
I called the hotel before i came for help with restaurant reservations... I was connected with Uncle Frank... The concierge... He was very helpful... A throwback to great service the way it is supposed to be. And when we got to the hotel he was extremely friendly and welcoming... And very helpful... A great representative for the hotel.
