I stayed here for two nights. The location was great— convenient to everything without being too close to the boardwalk. Walk to the beach was less than two blocks— there are crosswalks so it was a short and safe walk (unlike what one review reported). I loved the pool and pool area and the bay was beautiful to look at and hear while enjoying the pool. I had no issues with noise or people smoking on balconies like some other reviews reported. I will say at check in they addressed both of those things and had you sign a separate paper for each saying you understand the rules and the consequences. I like that they are addressing things that were issues. I booked through the Hilton directly and got a fairly good deal. Upon check in I asked about getting a King instead of two queens and I was upgraded to a king suite. Made it an even better value. Regardless of kind of room, request bay view. Bonus is that the balcony has a roof (the balancing above) so I even sat out there when it was raining to do work and have coffee each morning. My room had great AC. The location, amenities and my room are what had me rate as 4 I stead of a 3. Areas for improvement: - While the staff I dealt with were nice, they weren’t overly welcoming or friendly. I came and went for 2 days and nights and only once did the front desk person greet me. Even upon check in, there was no greeting, just down to business. - the direction was to put trash and dirty towels in the hall and then would be picked upas their was no mod-stay house keeping die to COVID. I saw both sit in the hall from 6pm until I left at 10:30am the next day. If maid service is cancelled for the rooms, they should have someone walking the halls each hour getting those type things. Also makes me assume that no disinfecting took place on frequently touched surfaces in the halls and on that floor those 15 plus hours. COVID Related Items: - Masks were required in all common area. Adequate signs and reminders posted and all guests I saw wore them. Fellow guests were also respectful of not crowding elevators and giving extra space. - While you had to check in at the front desk to use the pool (to keep track of capacity) I never saw anyone disinfecting the chairs or having items for guests to use after using. Also, you didn’t have to let them know when you were done w the pool. Felt a little like they were going through the motions but not truly following the mitigation efforts. - For the breakfast besides cereal, breakfast bars, fruit, and yogurt, they also had one hot meat and egg dish each morning which a staff person served to guests. - Staff wore masks. I will say that on two or three occasions the staff I saw the hallways and coming out of rooms, while they had masks on their face, they weren’t wearing them properly (ie. It was on their chin or around their necks). Again, I felt they were going through the motions of meeting the guidelines but weren’t taking them seriously. Personally, I felt safe and didn’t totally care— even the CDC admits that not one case of COVID has ever been spread through a contaminated surface and close contact (less than 6 ft for more than 15 mins) is responsible for the large majority of spreading. I know the masks and disinfecting are really just to make people feel better and be reassured. I just assumed the hotel would have done a better job at it. …
Good view n clean its just one thing you have to worry about it’s the floor so slippery because they wiped it with the wood milk think for wooden table , we had to clean it again we couldn’t walk on it so if you put on socks or you have kids or elders be extra careful not to fall n break ur bones Thank you thats all I have to say
Loved our stay while in Ocean City! Yes, during Covid needed a get away for daughter's 8th birthday. Only 3 hours from home and everything about the trip was just what we needed. Online room selection and check in was simple. Front desk team was very helpful. Even assisted me with getting my little one out of her room so I could decorate. The outdoor pool was great (except for the biting flies, beyond hotel's control). Breakfast was not the same, and get it due to Covid-19. The quick grab of fruit, cereal, milk, coffee and/or tea was good. The cleanliness of room was good, we brought our own cleaning supplies to use while there, as we understood staff wasn't cleaning daily during this time, unless requested in advance. We were close to Jolly Roger @30th St, had perfect view of the Bay from our balcony.…
The best hotel I have stayed in this year. I was afraid to stay in hotel due to the current pandemic. But the great staff totally put my mind at ease. They even gave me resturant recommendations and help with reservations. Each room comes with an assurance that the rooms have been cleaned well. Then when you walk in to this awesome smell of cleaning products you know all is well. Myself and my family will be back.
I have stayed at this property a few times for a few nights at a time - usually on the street side because there was more availability. I wasn’t sure how all of this would play out during COVID, especially because I booked ten nights, six of which were with points. Would I be comfortable? As it turns out, yes! I arrived and Chelsey and Dustin immediately placed me in a king suite with a bay view (I attribute this to good karma or perhaps my Diamond status). I had a terrific time, and would like to weigh in on some of the prior concerns: Masks - everyone wore one unless one of the employees was in the laundry room by themselves. Cleaning - it’s true that housekeeping (led by Melinda) couldn’t service the room. That said, if I left a trash bag or towels outside of the suite, it was collected within an hour, even at night. I also saw something that I hadn’t seen in a long time - even the parking lot was swept regularly. This tells you how much pride Nilson (houseman) has in everyone’s work. The lobby area was so clean, I could have sworn it was unoccupied. Breakfast - Very efficient and easy (you get in a short line for breakfast and coffee). I happily ate my weight in Lucky Charms. Noise - I stayed over the bar (Chelsey had made this clear to me when she gave me the upgrade) and I couldn’t hear a thing. The sliding doors blocked every little sound and I’d buy them for myself if I could. The only thing I could hear was if someone above or next to me closed the sliding doors. Other than that, it was as quiet as a tomb. Other - Trish (front desk) and team made sure I had everything I needed, from forks to towels to whatever else my boyfriend and I needed. Management - all of the above is attributable to strong management. I was lucky enough to be able to talk to Chelsey (GM) and Morgan (manager) about the hotel over the last few months. I learned that Morgan really enjoyed spending time on the little upgrades that we take for granted. Chelsey gave me some tips for parking during the impending storm. Apparently, she knows all of our license plates and is constantly making sure that we are parked and safe. There are five star properties that wouldn’t do this. All in all, I was blown away this time, so much so that I asked the front desk team to give me some names of Hilton execs so that I could tell them about the stay myself. This is a budget-friendly hotel with luxury service, and it’s important that this team be rewarded for its hard work. …
