We came here for the July 4th weekend and opted to camp in tent. The place had everything we need including clean bathrooms and shower. They even had a great barbecue dinner and breakfast. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. Cant ask for more!

Loretta is a great host, and the Civil War dinner on Saturday was one of the best meals I've eaten in a while! Mmmmm! We came here for Columbus day and hiked Maryland Heights and Loudoun Heights along with walking around the sites. Here's a little tip.. if you are coming in on the train, you can cross the bridge... Thru hiker Spark here: One of the nicest and most generous women I've ever meet runs this hostel with a fine tooth comb making sure your stay is totally ultimate. I opted to tent and get breakfast for two nights and denied a shower till the owner threw in dinner and ice cream! A full course meal at that! It's... More

It was a great experience to stay here on this AT, near to harper's ferry. So clean, affordable price, nice chats, warmhearted host, close to a river, you can either stay in a special room, or in hostel bunk bed or put your tent in the yard and use all the facilities! highly recommended...

I recently stayed here for a girls' trip. We were going tubing the next day at Harper's Ferry and needed accommodations for a larger group. I found this place and I am so glad I did. The woman who works there went out of her way to make us for comfortable and accommodate us. She had a huge feast prepared... More

There was something magical about this hostel that I can't quite put my finger on. The primary staff member (lady) was really friendly, everything was very clean, wifi was good, but also - and it appealed to me - you can basically go to this hostel without any food and leave crazily overstuffed! I stayed here for two nights, one... More

This is easily the best hostel I ever stayed in. Loretta, the owner, made us feel truly like we were in a home from home with cup cakes, a fantastic breakfast spread of pancakes, blueberries etc. The location is stunning: fabulous views over the Potomac and pure rural tranquility. This is genuine value for money.

I'm primarily a road cyclist who took advantage of the mild early Nov weather to do an overnight cycling trip from Frederick to Harper's Ferry. Cycling was fun, and I took advantage of the dry weather to include part of the C & O Canal. Great fall folliage. I hung around Harper's Ferry a couple hours seeing the film of... More

The hostel has a nice open floor plan in the common area between the kitchen, dining area, and hang out space so everyone can be doing different things but still all in the same room, which was good for a group. The hostel manager is incredibly nice and makes you feel at home. She spent an afternoon making cupcakes and... More

This is a small (33 beds plus campground) seasonal (spring, summer, autumn) hostel. Groups can rent the entire hostel during the winter as well as during the "season." Clean, good hot water, and comfortable beds. The kitchen is immaculate. The common room/living room is comfortable and inviting. A computer with free WiFi and board games are available in the common... More
