We’ve been BnB enthusiasts for three decades and our wedding anniversary weekend at the Antietam Overlook Farm was easily the best ever! We booked the General’s Quarters (highly recommend) and so glad we did. This room is spacious and offers spectacular views of meadows, mountain ranges, wood lines, and wildlife. Very clean and comfortable. The inn keepers rock! Mark, Tina, and Betsy made our stay a special experience. They provided us with a thorough and entertaining orientation - we felt like family from the first minutes after arrival. For anyone with COVID-19 concerns, no worries - they have CDC mitigation protocols in place and follow them. At no time did we ever see an employee unmasked during our 3 day stay. We met the parrot and General Lee (the kitten) also known as Lee Lee or Mister Meowser, both of whom are characters. Breakfast exceeded expectations, with wine, coffee, snacks, and beer on tap rounding out the available victuals and libations menu. We loved the serenity, scenery, and superb hospitality!…
To be honest, Antietam Outlook Farm is a beautiful Inn with its cozy charm and country views, giving attention to detail right down to warm daily cookies. The two female staff members are friendly and hard working, maintaining the Inn’s immaculate condition and preparing tasty breakfast. If not for the Inn’s owner, our plans had been to return seasonally to experience nature’s changes from the view of the Inn. Within five minutes of our meeting, the owner’s lack of professionalism and poor business decorum became clearly evident as we shockingly fell victim to his statements related to Covid as “Those people were going to die anyway”…” My rights are more important than your health” and “If you don’t like it stay home.” … and upon his advice, we will.
I would highly recommend staying at Antietam Overlook Farm for your stay to the Antietam area. The location is amazing, the staff very friendly, the accommodations beautiful and the food delicious. The inn sits on top of a hill and provides gorgeous views. From the time we arrived till we left the staff were very friendly. I have dietary issues and the staff were very accommodating to provide a breakfast that I could eat. The next time we are in the Antietam area we will definitely stay here.
Always a pleasure staying at the Antietam Overlook Farm. This was extra special for an anniversary celebration and we couldn’t wait to drive out to the country and get out of the city, this is just what we needed! We stayed in my fav, the Generals Quarters, and would highly recommend it. Plus at the Inn there are plenty of places to social distance, they are COVID clean and following the guidelines to slow the spread. Everything in our beautiful room and common areas were white-glove spotless! (so important in the COVID world) We love watching the sunset and then stargazing around the fire pit afterward with smores. We’ll be back soon because we can’t wait to see the fall colors.
The location is perfect if you enjoy civil war history, hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, or just simply being somewhere in nature. The room was very large, comfortable, clean and the bed was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There were many small touches throughout the Inn that added to the stay. We enjoyed having a fire in the evening, getting carryout dinner and sitting outside with a bottle of wine and taking in the scenery, having a cold beer from the Kegerator in the country room (first one free, then $3 per drink, with chilled mugs in the freezer), and sipping a little Brandy for a night cap. For dining out, Shepherdstown WV is about 20 minutes away and has a nice selection of authentic restaurants currently open at I believe 50% capacity.
