The property was extremely well maintained. It was very quiet and peaceful. Connie made check in very easy and was extremely attentive to make sure that we had everything that we needed. My husband had the pleasure of meeting the owner Rodney. He was very touched by his vision for the property and his commitment to financially help St. Judes Children’s Center. If you are looking for a quiet getaway we would highly recommend this place.

If you don't like feeling uneasy or threatened, do not come here. Originally planned out a nice getaway for the weekend with my lady for 3 nights, which turned into 2 after a disrespectful run in with the actual owner Rodney. Checked into the property and met Connie who was very nice and situated us in. We stayed at The Loft and cozied in no problem. Two nights pass, and we decide to invite over two friends that we went to college with out there in Western Maryland. I had set up some chairs from inside around the campfire (with atleast 6 feet of distance from the fire) for a post pizza dinner relaxation with our friends. Upon our friend's arrival and properly parking behind us leaving enough room for other guests to move around the lot, Rodney instantly came out of his cabin irritated without any previous run ins with them. He instantly stated that we where overcrowding and remained irritated with no calming manor. He was partially upset that I had brought out the chairs for extra room for our temporary guests, and continually grew hostile without respectful and professional conversation after I repeatedly told him "I apologize that this happened, and I respect your property". He DEMANDED my guests leave. So after we ate pizza up river, my lady and I decided to come back, pack our things, and leave that night completely avoiding refund for our third night simply to prevent any other run ins with Rodney. Mind you, there are no check in templates on how to work anything inside, especially no rules stating Rodney's own "personal preferences" on how his business is run. I agree with previous reviews about the owner being the only and LARGEST downfall of this property. It is gorgeous and calm, until Rodney comes barrelling over to your property and essentially threatens you until you have to leave.

Very nice cabins. Clean with everything they said would be in it. Close to the river for fishing or just sitting and watching the world go by. Very peaceful. Very close to many restaurants and local attractions. Favorite part was visiting the Fruit Stand at the top of the mountain. They have a lot of the penny candy I enjoyed as a kid.

A beautiful area on the Casselman River. We stayed in The Roost. While not our first choice, it turned out to be very pleasant. Host was very welcoming and laid back. Enjoyed it a great deal and definitely plan to return.

Everything about this enclave is unique and thoughtfully planned. Paths groomed through the trees, fire pits, picnic tables and swings all designed for rest and connecting. We enjoyed all of the conveniences while being steps from the river. The surrounding ski/summer sport resort and fun brewery restaurant with views of the valley add adventure for those who want added events. However, the porch swing and large boulder I found for yoga in the river were the highlights for me.
