Stopped here after a challenging climb up the 16 miles uphill from Cumberland. The switchback up the steep hill was another challenge, but worth it for a beer and a bite. The owner was extremely kind and attentive. We had some beers and chicken fingers - they were fine but nothing special. I can't comment on the lodging or camping.... More

The camping area is up a steep ramp and and a few levels as it used to be a vineyard. Camped here with the Boy Scouts and had plenty of room for our tents and gear. There were other campers here too (bicyclists). We had to haul water up the ramp which was tiring. Tent areas were flat. Had the... More

From outside appearance I was skeptical , but the room was very nice, clean and the bed was comfortable! A lovely breakfast basket was delivered to our room! John the owner was very friendly and he was our shuttle for the bike trail, since we choose to begin our trip in Meyersdale.

The hosts are just delightful and very helpful. They really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was heated up when we arrived. Very clean. Hot showers. Comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was offered to us in a basket to take to our room - muffins, yoghurt, granola bar, juice, and banana. Have covered area for bikes.

If arriving off the Western Maryland Railway’s steam journey from Cumberland, then make a beeline for the Café as soon as you arrive. We made the mistake of going around the Thrasher Museum first and then taking the Allegany County Trolley into Frostburg before coming back to grab a quick bite before re-boarding the train. Despite arriving back at the... More

This motel is a bit off the beaten track (though still very close to the center of town) and humble looking from the outside. But the couple that owns the place obviously takes great pride in offering a good product. The room I had (#5) was quaint, attractive, and clean, and it included all the basic amenities one would expect... More

John was very hospitable and helpful. We chose this establishment due to location. John accommodated us with transport to the GAP after we rode the train with our bikes from Frostburg. Breakfast basket was a quick nice way to start the day. It contained enough food to serve as a great halfway snack for our ride that day. We felt... More

There are several other campgrounds in the area. You will have to carry your items up and down a very steep hill. You will be in the backyard of a restaurant and neighborhood. There is no electricity. the bath house is half way down the hill. The manager is a very nice guy though.

I have stayed at the Trail Inn on 3 separate occasions. I believe every time I have been in the room on the end. This is a nice place to stay if you are visiting Frostburg. It is located down the hill from the main part of town. The rooms are small, but I usually just use them for sleeping.... More

As many of you have read in the following reviews, there is no one nicer to deal with than John and Beth Sayler at the Trail Inn B&B. In the past some of the reviews have been about service in the Trail Inn Cafe. Not the food! But the service and how the staff performed. 2015 will see NEW management... More
