This is the 6th year we've used the 4H Center for our youth group visit to DC area. The staff is phenomenal! Large campus. Many room options for groups. Great food! Especially love the breakfast options. Buildings are older but the 4H Center updates some each year instead of closing down for total re-do. If there is any problem, they are quick to make it right. If you're looking for a high end hotel, this isn't it, but if you're looking for comfortable sleeping, good food, and terrific staff and you have kids or students in tow, this is the place! 4H caters to the youth. It's part of their mission!

If I could rate this hotel as a 0 I would, but there is no option. I came here on a class trip this past weekend and the place was absolutely appalling. I am thinking about reporting this place to the Department of Health because I was so disgusted by my experience. Firstly, let's talk about the rooms. The bunk beds were about to break. I thought I was going to kill the person underneath me. Not only was there mold in the bathroom but the toilets looked like they should be in a public restroom, not in a hotel. My sheets were yellow and gross and the bathroom vent was black with dust. Also the furniture in the room was very uncomfortable and the TV was close to broken. This place also had lousy WiFi and you could hear everything that happened in the room next to you, which was annoying. The sheets also didn't fit the bed so they were slipping off while we were sleeping. The rug looked gross and I didn't even want to get into the shower because the shower was so gross. That's just the rooms. Now let's talk about the cafeteria. IT WAS SO DISGUSTING; I REFUSED TO EAT THE FOOD IN IT. I was just to put a spoonful of food into my mouth when my classmates and I saw a mouse run through the cafeteria. We had to order pizza because some kids didn't feel comfortable eating the food. The water tasted contaminated and I couldn't use the water fountain, causing me to spend at least $10 on water bottles. To add to this, before the mouse incident I did eat the food and it was disgusting. It didn't have any flavor and the lucky charms were definitely stale. The cake was also stale. The cafeteria was just as gross and the rooms or more. This place should be closed down and investigated by the department of health. If the owners actually want to keep it open, they should make sure good service is actually provided.

Thank you for the feedback. Safety & Healthy Environments are a priority at the Center. All of the commercial grade furniture is assembled to specification; any furniture suspected of being faulty or unsafe is removed. We have 24hr engineering coverage and if at any time a safety concern is reported it will be investigated and appropriate action taken. There was water main repair work off property we were not notified of in advance during your stay to plan a proper flush of our systems. Although water was slightly discolored for a day or two at no time was the water contaminated or unsafe for consumption; however it did result in some discoloration of our laundry. Complimentary high speed wi-fi access to over 500 concurrent users across the entire campus is provided. Menu offerings have been refreshed this year receiving many compliments from both adult and youth guests.

Hi all! I would like to start off by saying I am an 8th grader that lives in NY. On March 20-22nd my school visited DC and we slept here. This was the first time my school had tried out this place, they changed it because it was cheaper and out of traffic. I and my classmates were curious and decided to search up the reviews, we were VERY WORRIED. The reviews stated there were bed bugs and horrible conditions. We did not want to sleep here. I am here to state the WHOLE TRUTH and nothing but the truth. This place is NOT a hotel, it is a conference center. There is absolutely no room service. the beds were not made and the room was not cleaned, which is ok I guess if you don't want your stuff stolen. When we arrived 2 girls apparently had bed bugs and were moved to different rooms. Another boys room had horrible conditions and too many things broken so they were moved as well. One girl found a roach in her room. I found a bug in my shower!! BRING FLIP FLOPS IF you are GOING TO SHOWER. there was a weird red light above my shower as well as a vent FULL OF DUST(shown as the photo attached). Lots of the things in my room were rusted as shown in the photos. My bed bunk railing was rusted and not nailed in and was like about to fall off. In my bed there were a bunch of black dots, I'm not sure if they were just dust or ACTUAL BUGS. The walls are also very thin and you could hear right next door. thank god for my water wasn't yellow. In the morning there is breakfast. It is set up as a cafeteria type and it has ok food. The donuts were fire and about the only good thing. They had cereal like lucky charms and they had a bunch of drinks. They had like bacon and pancakes but they were deadass gross. Overall These rooms were livable for a couple of days, if you have to stay here you must get lucky and not get in a bad room. I am praying for you. Also, there was no wifi.

Thank you for the review. We are sorry that you felt your stay was unsatisfactory. We are in the process of guest room renovations which addresses many of the room conditions you reported. You are correct that this is a group conference center and not a hotel; we do not offer nor promote room service. We do provide a safe and hospitable environment for groups in a beautiful and upscale neighborhood, just a few minutes proximity to Washington DC. Complimentary high speed Wi-Fi service is provided across our campus and no outages were reported on the dates of your stay. Our café & catering offerings have been refreshed this year receiving positive feedback from both adult and youth guests.

While the property and furnishings may be outdated, I love staying here and have 6 times in 2018 alone. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the neighborhood is impressive, to say the least. The staff is also very helpful and friendly - really make you feel at home and part of the family. They all seem to work here because they believe in the mission of the National 4-H Council charity org. More important than all of this is the cleanliness of the rooms (albeit slightly outdated). I would recommend staying here to any group interested. ROOMS ARE VERY FAIRLY PRICED TOO!
