Susan and Ed could not have been more inviting. The accommodations were excellent, the breakfasts very tasty, and the afternoon snacks and evening ice cream sundaes were just incredible! They are both very interesting people and have traveled extensively themselves. We were able to share some time together and our conversations were never dull. They recommended places for us to... From the time we arrived until the time we left with a tupperware container of homemade baked goods Susan, made us feel like we were family. Cute rooms, super clean, easy parking and such a beautiful wuaint little town, off the grid!! A perfect nights sleep and awoke to a homemade breakfast of blueberry french toast!!! This place is the... More

My wife and I spent three nights and Ed and Suzan couldn't have been any nicer or accommodating. They were wonderful. As for the parking problem mentioned in a previous review, it was the week-end of the car show. They provided parking in the rear of the B&B because the town didn't allow parking on the main roads for one... More

Our hosts were very attentive to our needs, and the accommodations were very nice, and things very clean and tidy. The parking accommodations were lacking however, some later arriving patrons had to park blocks away.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your accomodations and our service. We work very hard to maintain our 5 star rating which we have received from every guest who have stayed with us. Our guests have never had a problem with parking as we have private off street parking. As to the parking during your stay, you were aware... More

My husband and I and three children visited Chesapeake City for a wonderful boating extravaganza. The Bed and Breakfast experience at Doc Smithers became the most memorable part of our stay. Susan and Ed made our visit feel warm and welcome. They breakfast was delicious and my children looked forward to the ice cream social time every night at 9:00.... More

My wife and I were traveling through and stayed the night. We were made to feel so at home, and the personal touches were just wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer and we will stay here again.

Perfect location in charming, historic Chesapeake City. Captain Ed and "Aunt" Susan had every amenity for us to feel at home and comfortable. The only thing better than the presentation and table settings at breakfast was the food itself! I have allergies and Sue went above and beyond to find gluten and dairy free options to incorporate into the full... More

My husband and I would highly recommend Doc Smithers. The gracious hospitality coupled by the facilities made for a wonderful retreat. Could not ask for more kind and interesting hosts, Ed and Suzan are delightful! Top it all off with a delicious breakfast!

We have visited Chesapeake City, MD, many times; this was our fourth visit to “Doc Smithers.” Ed and Susan are now like family. The B&B is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and shops. The breakfasts, snacks, and evening “ice cream Sundays” are delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms are spacious, clean, and interesting. Ed and Susan have an... More

An absolutely wonderful place to stay in this historic town. Doc Smither's B&B is an historic house but, in this case, there are more antiquities inside the house than most medium sized museums. A library of books too, with a wonderful lounge for the few guests - never more than one family. True luxury from the four poster bed, grand... More
