My wife and I were traveling through and stayed the night. We were made to feel so at home, and the personal touches were just wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer and we will stay here again.

Perfect location in charming, historic Chesapeake City. Captain Ed and "Aunt" Susan had every amenity for us to feel at home and comfortable. The only thing better than the presentation and table settings at breakfast was the food itself! I have allergies and Sue went above and beyond to find gluten and dairy free options to incorporate into the full... More

My husband and I would highly recommend Doc Smithers. The gracious hospitality coupled by the facilities made for a wonderful retreat. Could not ask for more kind and interesting hosts, Ed and Suzan are delightful! Top it all off with a delicious breakfast!

We have visited Chesapeake City, MD, many times; this was our fourth visit to “Doc Smithers.” Ed and Susan are now like family. The B&B is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and shops. The breakfasts, snacks, and evening “ice cream Sundays” are delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms are spacious, clean, and interesting. Ed and Susan have an... More

An absolutely wonderful place to stay in this historic town. Doc Smither's B&B is an historic house but, in this case, there are more antiquities inside the house than most medium sized museums. A library of books too, with a wonderful lounge for the few guests - never more than one family. True luxury from the four poster bed, grand... More

My husband and I highly recommend a stay at Doc Smithers B&B. The beautifully restored and decorated historic house is set in a picturesque town a short walk from Chesapeake Bay. The views around town and of the bay and marina are breathtaking and are truly like something out of a dream. We spent our days visiting local shops and... More

An old house with a fantastic atmosphere and best of all: a couple that makes everything for you with wonderful breakfast mornings in the old fashioned dining room. They are soo keen that you feel at home, which made my stay so nice. Just like coming home! Visitor from Sweden

Ed and Sue are the most Gracious of hosts, offering up well apointed rooms, in this beautifly restored 19th century home. A perfect mix of Modern facilities and Historic charm. A short walk puts you to shops, restaurants and activities offered in Chesapeake City.(You do not want to miss Susans' French Toast.) The sign by the back door says 'Come... More

Its difficult to find a hotel or B& B these days that take care of your every wish, impressively, Doc Smithers B&B not only anticipates your desires but also fulfills them immediately when expressed. There's absolutely not one hotel or B&B that can " top" or compare to Doc Smithers B&B.

Back again for our second visit. The innkeepers, Susan and Ed, not only spoil you, but make you feel like you are their good friends. The breakfast is the perfect balance between gourmet and comfort foods. The suite is spacious, comfortable and beautiful with pieces of art from around the world. We highly recommend this B&B in Chesapeake City and... More
