We stayed here for one night and the pictures on the website i must say are very very generous. Location is good but the room we had and hotel are dated and employees seem to be “mailing it in”. The breakfast was at best one of the worst Ive had at townplace suites across the US and the hotel is noisy. Guest coming in/out all hours of the night and talking loud and making noise. Regardless, the hotel was clean and comfortable but we will definitely be looking at other options when we come to this part of Maryland on our frequent trips here.
We had a wonderful wonderful stay at your hotel. All of your staff were fabulous especially Laura. I cannot say enough good things about how accommodating how clean and how wonderful our stay was. The amenities at your property was wonderful, and staff were extra-ordinary!
This is a decent hotel, and it would have been a 4 star review, except for a few things. The pluses: it's in a great location, near the highway and the mall with lots of food and shops. The room was well equipped, especially if you were planning on an extended stay. There is a 3/4 fridge, microvave, small stove, all the dishes etc that you need, plus a dishwasher! The desk set up is also good. The negatives were the following: the rooms we had (1 queen bed) was very small, the room had some improvements, but there were also things that were tired, particularly in the kitchen area, there was a transient person in the gazebo both in the evening and morning, leading me to believe she had slept there over night. Last but not least, the front desk staff was wearing her mask improperly - it was completely under her nose and barely covering her mouth. There is a mask mandate indoors and she was not following the mandate.…
This particular TownPlace Suites carries the Marriott name but not the quality. It's very difficult to write a bad Marriott review but this location has a long way to go before it will have you Marriott satisfied. Most of the staff is very nice, I actually stayed for a week last month and locked my keys in my vehicle the day I was to check out. The front desk went out of the way to give me extended access to the room until I was able to gain access to my vehicle. I returned the next week to a completely different experience. There was a fill in staffer that was unable to create reservations and check in guest. I had to remain in my vehicle from 3 am until 7 am when another front desk agent arrived. I asked to use the bathroom in the lobby since I had to wait outside 4 hours. I was told only registered guest could use the lobby restroom. I would have been a registered guest with a room if they had adequate staffing. I literally had to argue with the woman on duty to allow me to use the bathroom since I had to return to my vehicle to sleep. Marriott? Not. I checked out after getting some rest finished my week stay at another hotel just across the street. Better price and better service. But since I am and always will be a Marriott guest, a month later I came back. I reserved for three nights. I always arrive early in the morning and this time I arrived at 3:30 am. The front desk was downloading it's computer so again, I had to wait for service.... Instead of booking my three night reservation I was told to book for one night then rebook the rest of my stay the next morning. The next morning I was advised the hotel was completely sold out and I would not be able to complete my reservation. Asking for management only made the situation worse. All kinds of excuses but no customer service. No accountability. No accommodation. In 30 years I have never called corporate but I had to this time. Then, the general manager started backtracking. Then a room became available, she moved some things around. 30 minutes later too many excuses later... no thank you. I was told I had half hour to vacate the room or I would be charged an additional day as a threat against me contacting the corporate office. To make matters worse, the same general manager modified my folio receipt to make it appear I was checked in for 3 days/2 nights although I was only there 8.5 hours. How was it resolved? Not with more service but with more excuses. I went to a Hilton and finished my reservation. Better price better service and the tvs work. If you are reading this you have been warned. This property does not operate at Marriott level standards. Go anywhere else if you want to be treated like a paying guest.…
When I say basic is good that means business was accomplished with minimum problems and maximum help or assistance from the staff. I used a one bedroom suite to conduct a series of small business meetings. The room was clean, the heating and air conditioning work just fine and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I needed some Scotch tape and a few other office essentials to repair a couple of presentation envelopes. The staff was Johnny on the spot and provided me what I needed. The location next to the Bowie Town Center allowed visitors to grab a bite to eat was just a short walk from the hotel. Basic is good.
Last night I got a low $79 rate for a suite with a full kitchen. I had stayed here about 6-7 years ago and it was nice then. But they evidently renovated it because it's even nicer now! Great location with lots of shopping and restaurants in walking distance. The front desk agent SHAWN was super friendly. I got a free upgrade and a late checkout. What more could you ask for?!!!
Stayed at the TownPlace Suites in Bowie recently, and was very happy with every aspect of this hotel. For a pet-friendly hotel, the room was absolutely lovely. Quiet, super clean, well equipped, and everything was new. A very comfortable bed with great pillows! Lots of towels, great shower, and the kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything I needed. And the windows opened to shady trees. The staff were very accommodating, especially Laura, who was so friendly and sweet. The hot breakfast was delicious and plentiful with eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, etc. The hotel is situated a short walk to two shopping areas, with many restaurants and high-end stores, but also nestled in a quiet neighborhood and lots of large grassy areas for walking my pooch. They have a very nicely tended dog walk area in the rear of the hotel, something I have never seen anywhere else. When I arrived in the room, it was so clean and the carpet had been shampooed, so it was nice and fresh. Their pool was immaculate and looked super inviting. They have a small area to purchase drinks, snacks and food, making you feel very welcome and catered to. I was alone with my dog, and felt very safe and sound at this hotel. I can’t say enough about my stay at the TownPlace Suites. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. …
After having read the previous reviews, I was on the fence but decided to give this place a go! Overall, the room was clean, nicely appointed with a small kitchenette and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly! The breakfast area is very small and can be crowded at times so I skipped breakfast. People seemed happy enough with the spread though. The set up of the property is a little weird - sort of disjointed and broken up by weird doors etc but other than that, it is perfectly fine. I would definitely stay here again!
I stayed here for a business trip and booked in advance over the phone with the companies corporate rate. I arrived at 11:30pm and my reservation was wrong, booked for the next day. They said no problem, there were plenty of rooms so they rebooked it and gave me a key. I trucked my luggage all the way upstairs only to find the chain lock on the door locked and an angry half asleep customer already in the room. I had to go back to reception and get assigned yet another room and I'm sure the other customer was less pleased. This was summer 2018 so maybe they were having a bad week with their software, but I dont think I will go back.
Towne Place Suites is close to the shopping center yet far enough for you to enjoy the tranquility. Breakfast is served on time and is satisfying. The room is reasonably large with a kitchenette at the entrance. I used the fitness room which is small but I was the sole user, it is clean, smells good and has a filtered water cooler. The hotel staff did their utmost to make my stay a pleasant one. They loaned me a phone charger to replace my European phone charger. When I was checking out a guest told the front desk staff that I was her kind angel because I placed her heavy bags in her car. And that was an excellent way to leave after a pleasant stay.
