This was my second visit to this hotel. I liked it and the hotel is an excellent value for quality and location. I ate at Morton's again which is consistently good and I had breakfast and coffee form the Starbucks which was also good. I was dropped of so I did no have to deal with parking. The rooms are nice and the hotel is well maintained. I have had problems both visits with room key operating elevator. It may just be me but problem either way. My biggest issue was at check in. I am hearing impaired and the young gentleman behind the desk was wearing a mask making it impossible to read his lips and hear him. My son had come in with me to assist me and he couldn't hear the guy either. I politely told him I couldn't hear him and he still didn't make any effort to speak up or pull mask down and none of the other desk agents offered to help out. I didn't have this issue at check out because Marcello was unmasked and annunciated clearly. I understand I am a little extra work to communicate with but the young fellow didn't seem to care at all. It wouldn't have been that hard to speak up or pull down his mask. I had the same experience in Starbucks with a masked woman who took my order. No effort made to speak up or pull down mask when I politely told her I don't hear well. Another guest asked me if I am XXXXX when my food was ready because I didn't hear them call me. It is sad other guests have to help because staff can't. I still enjoyed my visit very much and I would return. I just wish that some of the staff who deal directly with guests were more cognizant of their guests needs. It is a shame to leave a sour taste and poor first impression on something so easy to handle.…
The Hyatt is in the center of downtown Bethesda where you can find many good restaurants within a short walk. Ruth Chris is three blocks away. French bakery Tatte is two blocks away. The facilities are up to date. The whole place is clean. The staff is very professional. Most guests seem to be business travelers.
Great gore experience. I’ve stayed at a couple of hotels since the pandemic and this was by far the best one. The check in process was quick and easy. They sent me an email beforehand to check in and that really sped up the process. The front desk was actually staffed and the agents were courteous and polite. They even gave us suggestions on some local spots to visit while in town. The room was clean and well stocked. All-in-all this was a very good experience.
The front desk staff was very accommodating, I got a quiet room away from the elevator where I can focus on my work. The room was also nice and clean like every other Hyatt hotel I've been to. Will definitely go back.
From check in to check out, all staff that I encountered with were simply amazing. Very comfortable accommodations and special shout out to Gilbert for helping me with my luggage and providing local eating suggestions. Will come back!
I reserved a 1 King Bed Room with Balcony through AAA. Every subsequent communication from both AAA and Hyatt confirmed that I'd reserved a 1 King Bed Room with Balcony. Upon check-in, I was told I'd reserved a standard room, and that no balcony rooms were available. I called AAA, and an agent confirmed that the reservation was sent from AAA to the hotel as a 1 King Bed with Balcony. When I relayed this information to the Hyatt manager on duty, I was told AAA would have to call the hotel directly with the information. I called AAA once again, and a second agent called the hotel, only to be told by the Hyatt manager that because the reservation was still showing as a standard room in the hotel system, nothing could be done. And nothing was done. Absolutely no effort was made to compensate for a mistake that certainly wasn't mine, and, per the AAA Terms of Service, was absolutely the hotel's. No late check-out was suggested. No free bottled waters appeared. No housekeeping was offered despite that I had to call down after returning to an unmade bed to learn that none was included for my length of stay (surprise!). Housekeeping wouldn't ordinarily be a big deal to me as a solo traveler, but since there's someone else's lipstick or worse on one of my pillows, a bit of attention would've been nice. Not that anything could really make up for an alleged four-star property making a paying customer call AAA twice because "we don't have AAA's number" (or Google, apparently), but any effort would've been greatly appreciated. Regardless, I chose this hotel specifically to enjoy the balcony on what turned out to be an unseasonably warm weekend. I gave up the opportunity to stay at the hotel across the street, where I'd have enjoyed status, for that simple pleasure. Hyatt not only failed to provide the room I'd obviously, clearly booked in good faith, based on a listing for which the hotel itself is literally legally responsible, but then failed, at every opportunity, to provide the bare minimum in customer service. I won't ever be back. And you can be darn sure I won't be recommending that any of my friends, family, or colleagues give this poorly run establishment a lick of business, either. There are far too many superior hotels in the DC area to be treated like a quick buck by this one. …
The stay was perfect, from arriving to have the valet park our car (he offered self park if we wished) to the check in process, our stay was excellent. The staff were all courteous, the room nicely appointed and clean, the bed comfortable, the linens were quality, and everything in the room worked well including being able to regulate the temperature. We ate at the on premise restaurant, Morton’s Steakhouse and had wonderful service and a delicous meal.
Hyatt Regency Bethesda is conveniently located, easy to get around. The staff members are very professional, hardworking and helpful. We were treated like real gusts. I will share my experience with all my friends. Definitely, I'd like to stay at this hotel again every time when I come back to the capital city.
Close to transit, shops, and restaurants. The staff were very attentive. 20-minute Metro ride to Union Station. and closer to other DC attractions. Try the Pancake House that is a couple of blocks away - good bargain.
Be prepared for: 1) lively conference attendees, 2) relatively expensive parking ($24-$38 per day), 3) no housekeeping unless you request it. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and the convenient location.
