We stayed in the main house, in the Country Inn Queen room, a quaint and cozy room - very clean and classic Maine oceanside decor. Although our room was small it was just what we needed for our short stay. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The complimentary buffet breakfast was wonderful. We also enjoyed dinner at their main restaurant “1637” restaurant. My entree was the Roasted Maple Chipotle Salmon and it was fabulous! Our hotel rate was very reasonable given we stayed in mid-August which is considered high season. The location is also unbeatable. There's a wonderful, dramatic cliff walk that starts in the park across from the hotel. And there is a lovely beach also across from the hotel. It also a short walk to the main Harbor and the Wiggly Bridge. I highly recommend staying here.

I loved this place. It is located right across the street from a garden park and then down the hill is a city beach. So once you get yourself checked in, head over across the street. Beautiful dining room has views of the water. One drawback is that many of the rooms have to be reached by stairs, and there are no elevators to reach them. So not good if you have difficulty climbing stairs. Not recommended for people with arthritic knees and hips.

A wonderful first stop on a driving tour of Maine leaving from Boston. This inn is beautifully maintained. We stayed in the Chapman Cottage and had a very large accommodation with fireplaces in both the bedroom and the huge bathroom. We walked the half mile to the main inn for breakfasts and enjoyed the scenery and gingerbread homes. Dinners at their main restaurant “1637” were fabulous! We enjoyed hiking the Cliff Walk and the Fisherman’s Walk out to the Wiggly Bridge and then into town. Loved our stay here!

We try to make it here every late summer or fall. There is absolutely nowhere we'd rather stay. The rooms, the atmosphere, the dining options, the views, the proximity to beaches and activities - all beyond excellent. And what really puts YHI over the top is the staff. You will not find friendlier, more helpful, more accommodating folks. We were married here in 2017 and our guests still talk about how much they enjoyed it (especially the food!). Being able to bring our dog is also a huge plus - she's feels right at home here, too.

We booked this hotel after finally figuring out it had been renovated. It was a very nice, to quote a friend from NE, wickedly awesome stay. The rooms are renovated, food and staff are great. Be patient, given the supply chain issues EVERYONE, are having a few things are off. But the new owners are motivated and highly engaged. You can’t say that about other places. The room was clean, bed nice a fluffy, perfect view. Mentioned the room needed a few more shelf spaces and that’s when found out about the supply chain. Honesty…big points from me. Even despite that, the room was great. We made do with it and no complaints. Highly recommend booking with them. The staff will make up for ANY of your “but” thoughts. Service trumps all

Have stayed here multiple times, most recently almost exactly a year earlier. YHI’s restaurant has also been a regular lunch stop over the years while traveling from my home in New Jersey to destinations further up the coast. This is a venerable, comfortable classic New England inn in a peaceful corner of southern Maine yet easily accessible from the highway. WHAT WAS GOOD: My room, Number 8 in the main inn, was quirky but comfortable. It had a gabled ceiling with just one window offering limited natural light. Furnishings were simple but nice. Bedding was very good….York Harbor’s crescent-shaped beach is just steps away….I always enjoy being able to leave the car and dine on site. The main dining room and downstairs tavern offer excellent meals and a really nice environment….The hot buffet breakfast included in the room rate is very good and a nice bonus. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: Every time the compressor kicked on, the in-room AC unit was as loud as a jet engine. It meant repeatedly having to raise the TV volume several notches and was at least a slight nuisance at bedtime. THINGS TO KNOW: The main inn is in a very old building and as such the accommodations there come with some oddities. (You really could use the word charm.) Second floor hallways, accessed from multiple staircases, are arranged like a maze. I eventually got the hang, but got lost several times at first trying to find my room. BOTTOM LINE: Stay here to be near the beach and enjoy the charm of a classic New England inn just a short distance from the Boston metro area.

We had a small company offsite here, and everyone gave it a 10 out of 10. Setting everything up was easy and professional, the staff is very personable, and the food was ridiculously good. The Inn is adorable, the rooms we had were stunning, and its location - right before the touristy hustle of York is perfect. Jake and Liam provided impeccable service before and during.

Celebrated our anniversary at the 1637 restaurant. We had a window table with a lovely view of the water. The service was excellent! We had salmon and a ribeye steak with a salad to start. Everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend

York Maine is just stunning in the summer and staying at the York Harbor Inn was PERFECT. From the friendly and accommodating service at check-in, to the quaint, updated room and comfortable bed, to the 'breakfast included' yummy start to the day, to the beach towels (so didn't need to bring our own) to the perfect location across from the beach and beautiful water view from the Inn's dining room, we will be back!
