My girlfriend and I took a drive up to the Old Orchard Beach area for the day and then drove along Route 1 looking for different places to stay. In August, I'm sure you can imagine everything was no vacancy. We found Hoyts and they had an opening in the main house, quiet little 1 bedroom. We arrived late (after... More

The new owners have plans to make this an even greater experience for more families I look forward to returning here My only suggestion would be to have a coffee house or meeting area on site that people could get coffee tea socialize maybe even a continental breakfast

We come to Maine every year but this was our first stay at Hoyt's...And we LOVED it....I had seen some bad reviews of the old owner, but I can't blame him...I could see where dealing with people day in and day out for years and years can burn you out and make one very cranky.. but no worries, the new... I've been going here for years and always enjoyed my stay. The place has new owners and it's been spruced up a bit with some nice landscaping, new loungers at the pool, and some junk that was hanging around is gone. They have wifi, but we had trouble getting it, but I find that a lot in that area in... More

We spent a month (Sept 14-Oct.14,2012). As usual, we enoyed Hoyts and Maine. Hope to return next year! Bob and Pat were and are very gracious and take care of their property and your needs. If you "need" a 400 dollar room and valet parking then go elsewhere. We recommend Hoyts Cottages based on our on experiences of the last... More

Now if you are picky about where you stay and are looking for luxury, DON'T STAY HERE. If you are looking for something very reasonably priced, fun, fairly close to Ogunquit and don't mind staying in cabins that look like they haven't changed since the 70s, STAY HERE.

Stayed there with my mother for a few days because she had stayed there before on other occasions. Was one of the nicest, peaceful vacations I've had. You want the Hotel Ritz, then go stay at the Hotel Ritz. The owner was very nice and takes care of needs. I don't know what others are talking about, but the owner... More

Cottages were not available as we booked last minute from the road. We were told by management that only a room in the main house was available. We were shown the room before anyone asked any questions. To our delight, the room was decorated in colonial style with antiques, poster bed, rocking chair, and a beautiful brick fireplace, Very cozy... More

The cabins are poorly maintained and the attitude of the owner is crass and unwelcoming. We were a military family on vacation opted not to check in at all due to the poor treatment we recieved.
