Property's Favorite Review
One of my favorite places to stay in New England. I am a traveling wedding vendor and I go throughout New England every weekend throughout the year. I stumbled upon this place about 8 years ago while working a wedding. I have came back every year since. I have enjoyed watching it develop and expand. The rooms are immaculate and every single one has a beautiful view of the Nubble light house. You can walk down to the light house or drive. If you’re looking to get married, this is definitely one of my all time favorite spots, I would suggest any bride to come here !
Perfect for Couples wanting a romantic get away, or even friends wanting a large space to settle in after having fun in Ogunquit.
(Ogunquit is about a 10-15 min drive)

If you are familiar with the New England coast, you know there are precious few properties that are modern, clean and actually located on the water. This property is all that and then some. These owners have created something special that is clearly aimed at those with a more youthful attitude. It was always pretty cool but the new rooms they’ve added this year are unmatched on the New England coast in terms of style (it’s an updated, hip new take on Mid Century) and view (unobstructed lighthouse views from everywhere in your room including the bathroom!). They serve an elevated high quality limited menu from food trucks on the property complete with an outdoor dining space lit with string lights and fire tables. To be clear, this not a Four Seasons. No one is going to follow you around and kiss your butt. What it is, is an amazing location with well appointed rooms and an unforgettable view. We’ve stayed three times in two years and we’ve found the staff to be very pleasant and responsive. I am young and retired and my wife and I spend a significant amount of time hunting for properties like this one from Connecticut to Maine. I’m telling you, this a Gem and it would seem these owners have more coming soon. Stay Tuned!

I love the Nubble Lighthouse and chose The ViewPoint Hotel for the direct view of the lighthouse. Because you are able to choose your room, you can have an amazing view (though I suspect that most of the rooms have amazing views). We arrived after dark but had no problems finding the location. We were offered a beverage during check-in and the friend clerk walked us to our condo and gave us a quick tour. The units are completely updated, beautifully decorated and the views everything that we wanted. At checkout, we were afforded to ice-cold bottles of water. The rooms are a higher priced than some but so worth it!

At first glance, the room seems very comfortable with a beautiful modern coastal vibe, but as it revealed its secrets, I was truly surprised they charge what they do!
Spacious bathroom becomes a room with absolutely no place to get ready! Double dog dare you, to try and curling iron your hair!
The rain showerhead bathtub becomes a place of utter sadness when the water runs out in less then 10 minutes!
The Kitchen is decorated with the Dollar Store picture frames with scapbook crafting paper in them. In addition, there is a large fake, rubber, potted cactus and huge wooden embroidery hoop with an ugly blue cloth stretched across it! I can't believe someone finished that DIY project and was pleased with themselves.
In juxtaposition:
The stunning recycled wooden barn beam, made into the Nightstands, TV Stand and Desk was so stunning, why the "finish decorator" chose the remaining embellishments and cheapened the room, I'll never know?
Last, but so not least...crappy cheap coffee pods, with the harshest coffee, EVER!
Yup, just another mediocre overpriced hotel!

Thank you for the feedback regarding your stay at the ViewPoint! We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay, and really wish you had told us about your discomforts so we could have addressed them. Certainly, if you’re running out of water that is highly unusual and something we want to rectify immediately! You booked our Accessible suite, which is designed for those with limited mobility who may be using assistance such as walkers or wheelchairs. With that in mind, it was important to make sure there was ample space to move around, and that the sinks are able to be used with a minimum of effort. As such, there is no cabinetry in the bathroom to hinder accessibility. We take a great deal of pride in being a green hotel and do choose to upcycle vintage fabrics and wallpapers in our décor, however, we realize that aesthetic and taste are personal preferences and not all people feel the same. As a green hotel, we have taken great pains to find sustainable and ethical sources for all our products. The coffee we provide is sustainably farmed, organic, fair trade, and 100% compostable. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it!

Million dollar views and a low key luxury atmosphere!
We stayed in Room 104, which has two bedrooms with king beds, two full baths, a small kitchen, a living room and a balcony with room for four. The views are breathtaking - the pictures don’t do it justice. Close, unimpeded views of Nubble Light House and the ocean. If you never left your room and just sat outside admiring the ocean, you’d have a great trip.
This is not a traditional hotel - it’s more of a blend between an AirBNB and a hotel. I like it - but if you need constant amenities like room service, this may not be for you. The decor is minimal coastal - perfect for the setting. I had no problem getting help from staff if we needed it - all were very friendly and happy to take care of whatever we needed. The saltwater pool was just steps away from our room; there are pool towels and pool noodles available to float. We did not eat at the hotel or sister hotels, but everyone who did said food was good. The hotel is in close walking distance of several places to eat - and within a mile of Long Sands and Short Sands beaches. Loved having an in room washer and dryer. There were cool offerings like morning oceanside yoga, private art lessons and a complimentary wine tasting (with non-alcoholic options - which is very thoughtful).
If the only complaint is the coffee offering - it’s like a teabag and not great - we’re in good shape. Bring a travel pour over set and you’ll be all set - or borrow a complimentary bike & head into the Short Sands side to several good coffee shops. The amazing view will keep you from getting too mad about anything!
In a day and age where nothing is cheap, this is 100 percent worth it. Can’t wait to come back.

There cannot be many views in Maine that can beat the view of the Nubble light house from the Viewpoint Hotel. The positives are that the grounds are beautiful with a lovely pool area. The suites are well-decorated, although the furniture is stylish but somewhat uncomfortable. The view is unmatched and sitting on one of the balconies is a great way to start the day. There is a very popular ice cream stand almost across the street. The suite had a smart TV, which is uncommon. The negative is that we also rented the 3-bedroom house. I was not aware that the house is actually located across the street in a parking lot with no view. The top floor is rented. There is only one bathroom for three bedrooms. Our adult kids stayed in the house, while we stayed in the suite. The kids did comment that the beds were very comfortable. There is nothing special about the house, and if we had rented only that I would not have been happy.

We were married in a small, intimate ceremony on the Viewpoint Hotel’s gorgeous Ocean’s Edge Patio, with the picturesque Nubble Lighthouse and crashing waves as our backdrop. Haven (the Events Coordinator), Val (the Hotel Director), and the rest of the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and ensured that our day proceeded without a hitch. While the weather ended up being perfect on our wedding day, the staff had an EZ-Up tent, in the case of rain, ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice, which was much appreciated. In addition to our ceremony, our entire wedding party stayed two nights at the Viewpoint. Everyone commented about how much they enjoyed their rooms, the grounds, and the spectacular views. Our wish to have an outdoor wedding in coastal Maine was certainly met, and we are very happy to have selected this venue as it helped capture everything we imagined our day would be! The memories of such an amazing day will surely last a lifetime, and we are excited to visit again in the future.

My fiancé and I decided to plan a mini getaway at ViewPoint to celebrate our engagement and also check it out as a possible wedding venue. Hoping to disconnect, catch up on lost sleep from the past few months, enjoy the views and each others company.
Well, this was impossible to do when a jackhammer starts at 8am and goes throughout the entire day. I know it’s not the hotel’s fault that there was constant road work/construction being done, but it would have been nice to have a heads up prior to booking or even before arriving. It was not the relaxing trip we were hoping for but I’m sure we would have had a better time had our surroundings been more peaceful. We couldn’t even hang out there during the day because the place was shaking and it was SO loud. Not the romantic retreat we planned.
If you’re looking for a beautiful spot this could be it - just make sure there isn’t going to be constant construction that will ruin your trip.

Hello Erin - thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We are sorry to hear that your stay was not as peaceful as you had hoped for! Although the town does make an effort to inform businesses about upcoming work so they can relay it to their guests, we do not get advance notice when private work is being done. We absolutely agree that a heads-up would have been nice so we could make our guests aware! We hope to see you again and would be happy to help you find a more peaceful time of year!

Went to the Viewpoint for a couple of nights, just for a getaway. Family of 4, kids are 19 and 22. Location and views are spectacular, to say the least. During this COVID pandemic, check-in/check-out, and all communication with the front desk is by text, but it works! Grounds are beautiful, place is quiet, set ina residential area. It is walkable to the downtown area nad beaches, but not if you are bringing beach gear.
We were slightly disappointed that there is no restaurant or even a pool bar on-site. It would have rounded out the time there nicely.
The pool area could use a little attention to make it feel more of a luxury getaway, but overall, this was a great place to stay.

This hotel looks pretty in pictures but when you arrive you are greeted by rude hotel staff. They offer nothing in terms of housekeeping or any other hotel amenities. They are trying to sell themselves as a boutique hotel for adults only, not sure why anyone single would want to stay off the beaten path where this place is. They are over priced and pretentious. You can easily find a hotel within walking distance to the town and beach and pay a lot less!!

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us, and would very much like to know more about your experience. We make every effort to make sure our guests feel welcome and at home and would value your feedback on how we fell short of this so we can improve our training and our guest experience. While many of our amenities are seasonal, we do still offer our fitness studio; complimentary bicycle, beach towel, and beach chair rentals; outdoor heated pool weather-permitting; and grills in the off-season; and in-suite housekeeping upon request. While we do have reduced Front Desk hours due to a staffing shortage, we are always available through our text-messaging service and the after-hours emergency phone number posted both in-suite and at outside the Front Desk should our guests require anything once the Front Desk has closed.
