It is a small 2 level motel that is located right on Rt 1 but is very quiet! The owners were very pleasant and live right on the premises. We found it to be very clean and comfortable. The King bed was like sleeping in a cloud! A small kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge /freezer, toaster, coffee pot and dishes and utensils and an in wall air conditioner that worked like a charm. We found the price to be reasonable for in season in comparison to the other motels/hotels in the area. Although there is no smoking in the rooms, there are 2 chairs and a small table right outside the room with ashtrays to accommodate smokers. We would stay there again the next time we are in Maine.

This is an okay motel. The best part is the large outdoor pool. They have no smoking signs in the room yet they have chairs outside the rooms with ashtrays. We did not want to be around smoke at all, but there it was, and people were smoking. Because of this we will not be staying here again.

This small lodging is right on the Post Road (Rt 1) in Wells but very quiet. The entrance driveway is by the owners' lovely home. We were very lucky to get the only two bed room on the first floor. My husband and I both have issues walking and use rollators. Therein lay a concern because the step into the room was higher than we could manage. No problem! This was quickly solved by the family with several short 4x4s, creating an interim step! Room was very clean, no musty smell as often found in beach cottages/rooms, and well appointed. Plenty of room, large dresser for clothing, refrigerator, microwave, table and chairs, coffee system and supplies, even a dish of peppermints! The bathroom has a walkin shower. The family, especially the father, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. After staying one night, we decided to stay a total of four nights! From the point of view for our needs there were few drawbacks. My biggest concern was that neither of us could access the lovely pool, as there were only ladders to get in and out, rather than graduated steps and a railing. We met a group of four women who come year after year because of the convenient accommodations and the care of the proprietors. We were pleased the owner family went out of their way to be helpful. I had numerous conversations with the dad, a very kind and generous man. We were sad to head home. If you find yourself in Wells in need of a room, we're happy to recommend Footbridge North Motel. Enjoy!

This is a small motel dreaming to be a hotel and charging clients the price of a good hotel when in reality it is an old motel with uncomfortable beds. No breakfast was included despite the high price of the room, no elevator like you would expect in a "hotel". Our room was on the 2nd floor so we had to lift the luggage up the stairs.

I decided to stay here because of all the positive reviews. Got here...very impressed by the young lady who greeted me...though the website said balcony room with a view of the pool...no balcony, it is a motel set up so an outside corridor and if you look straight down from my room...oh, I can see my car. Want a view of the pool? Walk down the outside corridor until you get to the stairs...look down...pool! The guy in the room next to me is yelling at someone in a language I don’t understand...there are wonderful food smells coming from next door that are making me hungry. Depressing because though I have a kitchenette which was supposed to include all necessary to make a meal I have no :utensils, plates, bowls, cups, glassware, pots/pans, etc. The rate here is good but if you can’t get items noted on the website, rates should be reduced!! I feel like I am the only non family member here!! No phone in the room to call to the front desk...use your own cell minutes!!! Charming employee maybe owner/good rate doesn’t equal a good place to stay! Oh yeah...can’t get the freaking TV to work either! Crap....now the guy in the room next to me is coughing/gagging/chocking too!!!

Place is old but I have no complaints. It was extremely well maintained, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Good location, and great price. We booked last minute when everything else was full or $600 and we found this gem for $120. I'd go back. Cute pool area but we didn't use it since it was fall weather.

The entire experience of dealing With this hotel was terrible. First of all they had no lights on outside the building at night and you can’t see it off the road in the dark. The Pictures of the rooms online looked nothing like the room they tried to give us. There was no lighting on the steps going up to the second floor and I fell on the steps. We ended up having to pay for the room but not stay. The room they tried to get us looked like it had not been updated in the last 50 years. The entire experience was terrible and they still charged us for the room.

Very nice staff and great location. All restaurants in the area are great, and check in and check out were very easy. The room was clean, and everything was easy to find. I would definitely recommend - Elise

This is a great family owned establishment. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, they have a great pool and plenty of parking. We will definitely stay here again and I will be sure to recommend this place to anyone coming to Wells!

So a family does own this, and there seems to be one lady who's trying to juggle it all. Being an older hotel, you can hear everything, and I mean everything, around you. To start off, the refrigerator doesn't cool anything, if you have antibiotics or something that needs to be in the refrigerator please please don't come here. If you expect to charge more than one electronic device, forget it. Bring one of those multiple plug adapters. There's not even a separate plug for the toaster and coffee maker, you have to move them around the room to find a plug. I had to put the coffee maker on top of the microwave, unplug the microwave, and plug in the coffee maker. The coffee maker didn't have a plastic insert for the filter, but then the lady gave me the wrong insert with spring loaded bottom, but the carafe was too short. Before I figured that out I had overflowing hot coffee, and I burned my fingers trying to set the spring load so the insert would empty. Huge mess. The floors are a vinyl type thing, and they are absolutely positively filthy. Even places where people don't walk are filthy. I think what they're doing is using some sort of cleaning liquid but then letting it dry and not rinsing it off, so that all the dirt sticks to the floor. The dogs next door barked and barked. I don't think they have anything to do with the hotel, but they certainly affect the guests. Since there's only one woman running the show, there is no way to get hold of anybody if you need something. I woke her up at 7:30 in the morning trying to show her the coffee maker so she would understand not to make guests use the thing, but I woke her up. Nobody is at the front desk. Basically, if you really don't care about anything, you go right ahead and stay here. It is cheap. And you get what you pay for. I think the owner is still on a learning curve, and they have a long way to go.
