We needed to see the Ocean this year before the snow flew, and our well at home had gone dry.. The washing/bathing facilities in the room worked perfectly. The walk to the beach across a National Wildlife Refuge, on a road line with flowers and rose-hips was invigorating, and the beach offered smooth sand, impressive waves, and basalt rocks to sit on. The view out the room's rear window included a well-maintained lawn surrounded by tall trees. If we had been staying longer, we might have made good use of the firepits and hammocks. Being near a Hannafords supermarket with a well-stocked deli made eating in the room a pleasure.
My boyfriend and I booked 2 nights at the Coast Village and Cottages in Wells, Maine, in early September. We enjoyed the stay so much that we stayed for 2 more nights. At first we stayed in a nice motel room there. And, the 3rd and 4th nights we spent in our own little cottage. The cottages have nice screened in porches with chairs. The people that worked there were very friendly. And, it is great that it's family owned and operated. I like to support our small businesses. Wells beach is only half a mile from the Coast Village and Cottages. I would definitely recommend a stay at Coast Village to anybody! And, I would love to stay there again if I'm in the area!!!
Wonderful experience. My son was traveling alone, but he felt right at home at his own cottage. The host was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and convenient. Easy access to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Highly recommend.
Our family had meant to stay two nights but our kids got sick so we had to go home on the second night. The host was very understanding and did not charge us the second night. The cottages are great because you can isolate when traveling during this time. They also had a pool which kept our kids busy. Thank you so much!
My husband, daughter, and I just stayed here in Aug 2020. They allowed dogs which was nice so we brought our two big dogs with us and it was great having the whole family together. They do charge a extra fee for them but it is nice because they don’t give you grief over them. There is a giant open lawn for them to run/do their business and take off steam. My daughter loved adventuring out with them. They have a beautiful pool. It was really nice. Ledges on the side on the deep end so you can sit and relax. The pool doesn’t have steps to walk into the pool. The pool has a sloped concrete entry which my toddler loved. She would run right in like she “was at the ocean!” She learned how to swim there in our three day stay. The motel room was clean and nice. Microwave. Tons of storage. Extra blankets and they had about three pillows per bed. I love me some extra pillows!! Lol Make sure you bring your own paper plates and utensils and cups. They recycle so you have to sort your Trash. They have their trash cans at almost every corner so you’re not walking far at all to throw it away. They take their trash out fast so it never smelt or had bees or flies. Property was very pretty. Loved the huge tropical flowers by the pool! We stayed in a cottage as well on our trip and it was cute. Smaller for a family of three and two large dogs but for a couple it would be perfect. Stand up shower. They have window ACs and fridge. Screened in little porches. So much to do around this location. Food was great. There was a cute organic farmers market where you can buy burgers and they had grills by the pool you can use! We literally walked down to get the food and walked back up to the motel. It’s a couple minute drive from the little downtown area where there are tons of bars, seafood places and ice-cream places. We had a great time and the staff was amazing. Family owned And reasonable. We would totally come back! I miss the pool already !…
