This is the second time we have stayed here. Spent a week at this wonderfully relaxing campground. Although you can hear the highway traffic at night it just blends into the background... and yes the bathroom toilet stalls are tiny, the atmosphere, cleanliness, and the owners beyond make up for it. It definitely has a homey atmosphere. The sites are spacious - we have a 15'x15' family tent and so far have had more than enough room on multiple sites- and always clean. The "E" sites towards the back of the tenting area are more in the trees and there is a little dip with a natural pond out back, gives it a bit more woodsy feel than the rest of the grounds. Although the campground is not walking distance to anything, unless you are looking for a long pavement hike, there is a trolley that passes by every 30 mins or so (sometimes less). Taking the trolley is a must as it just adds to the unique experience that is Ogunquit. The beaches, the shopping, the sailing, the fishing, the food... there is something for everyone!…
Absolutely beautiful large campsites, exceptionally clean bathrooms, nice staff with suggestions of things to do in the area, trolley stop at gate saved us driving and parking. Quiet, clean, beautiful pool and grounds. I saw previous review about highway noise, but from our site it wasn't an issue. Would highly recommend them and will come back again!
Great greeting by Greg the owner. Pool was beautifully kept. Campsites were nice. We were at P6 on the edge near toilets and next to a pretty little pond. Showers were very clean. To shower cost $.25 for 4 min. We each only needed one quarter to finish a shower. Could have used an extra hook or two to hang clothes/towels. Can take trolley from campground. It was a wonderful stay. I'd highly recommend!
Our family of 5 tent camped at Pinederosa in August. The site was fine, right by a large field where the boys could play soccer, and a nice pond where they could catch frogs (and release, of course!). The pool was a great way to end the day before settling down with our campfire (no cooking grates, but we just roast dogs and marshmallows anyway). The campsite is also in a great central location for access to the various beaches on the coast (driving distance, not walking). You can hear the highway traffic at night, but we're city folk, so it didn't bother us much. Yes, the bathrooms are very clean, and look like they were newly renovated...but I can't believe how none of these reviews mentions the size of the bathroom stalls. You walk into the bathroom and everything is super spacious and open and well-lit. Why oh why did they not give an extra foot of space to the stalls? Honestly, you have to back up into the stall, because there is no room to turn around once the door is closed...and then you hardly have room to - well you get the picture. I'm 5'7" tall, and I couldn't wait to hear how my 6'5" husband fared. Well apparently most men don't even bother to close the doors to the stalls. Incredible. And a small note - I would suggest to the owner to add a shelf or a table to the sinks outside the bathrooms because there's nowhere to put your dishes as you're cleaning them. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. Those bathrooms just baffled me!…
The site was incredibly small, we have a tent that sleeps 7 and there wasn't much room for our van and tent, to the point we were almost worried about having a fire because the tent had to be so close to the pit. There are no cooking grates on the fire pit at least there wasn't on our, and the pit was small. We had a family that shared two sites one on each side of us, they kept crossing over our site to get to their other site. Also if you enjoy staying up late for a fire this isn't the place, you can not add wood after midnight. You can hear the traffic, but it wasn't "horrible". Also they do not seem to care about actual quiet hours as we had people slamming car doors and electronically locking their car well after 10. Plus side, bathrooms are clean. Although the stalls themselves with the toilet are so small I was just about swallowing my knees.…
Loved this campground - 10 mins from Ogunquit or Wells beaches. Bathrooms were clean which was much appreciated. Campsites well surrounded by trees so fairly private. 2 important things to keep in mind - showers are 4 mins for 25 cents and campwood is 4.50$/bundle.
We were really only here as a place to sleep as we were visiting friends and taking in the sites. Campground was clean, the site was fairly level. Campground doesn't accept any type of credit card, CASH only. Not many over night sites, many seasonal sites.
We have been going for years. It is a family run campground. The staff have all been there for years, and are always friendly and accomidating. The facilities are always clean. The showers are pay showers but .25$/4 min is not that bad. The site are large and always well maintained. Most of the site are surrounded by woods making it nice and peacefull. Yes you can hear the highway but for us it has never beem an issue. If you are a light sleeper you might want to consider ear plugs. There is a nice heated pool. For the person that complained about not being allowed sparklers, what part of lighting a sparkler in the middle of the woods seemed like a good idea. Ever heard of forest fires? I am personally glad you are not allowed sparklers it is too nice of a place to have it burn down because of careless people. Worth the stay.…
Was looking for a quiet, peaceful weekend in the woods near Maine beaches and decided to check this place out after reading positive reviews. What a disappointment!! Experience was totally ruined by ridiculously loud highway noise - trucks, cars screaming by at all hours of the day and night. When we got out of the car, we both looked at each other and shuddered it was so loud. I said "maybe it will die down at night....?" Nope!!! Lying awake listening to tractor trailers at 2 am with ear plugs in. I love to sit in the woods at the camp site but absolutely could not stand it because the road noise was so loud. Also, we could literally see the tops of cars zipping by through the trees. Too bad because this is a nice clean place but if you get stuck by the highway your experience will be ruined unless you have a very high tolerance for noise. Apparently not all sites have this issue, but beware that anywhere going back from the bathroom into the "woods" on the left half on the campground map will have this issue. The farther back, the worse it is. If you have an RV that might help at night but it's bad in a tent. …
A great place to camp! Quite and clean with a great warm pool and great sized sites. We played croquet in the open grass area and had lotta of room. We like the field sites and there are a few right beside the pool although they are unserviced sites , no water or electricity.
