It is always great to return to a vacation spot when the place gets better with each visit!
Haven By the Sea offers easy access to the beach, warm and friendly owners that have taken every precaution to make our stay safe, clean and relaxing. Not to mention delightful breakfasts on the deck or alter.

A great breakfast is always key and we loved Danny’s lemon eggs & blueberry
pancakes!

Libations from the once confessional and a library worthy of multiple rainy days or a good beach read can ensure your R&R is a success!

This was our third stay and each time we leave we begin planning our trip back!

I brought my elderly mother for a long weekend because she felt ready to travel during the coronavirus pandemic. Haven by The Sea has done a fantastic job of keeping the B&B welcoming while following all precautions and rules for safety.
It is a short walk to the ocean and Wells beach is great for long walks.
The room is very comfortable, the beds and linens great!
Danny was willing to prepare a special, non-sugar breakfast to meet my dietary needs and Nancy makes the overall experience warm and pleasant.
Thank you Nancy and Danny for providing a setting in which my mother and I could have a special time together!

We spent three glorious nights at the Haven By the Sea. The property is a former church converted into a lovely B&B. The location is ideal for exploring the southern coast of Maine, The hosts, Nancy and Dan, were very welcoming and their breakfasts were amazing!

My wife booked our 2 night stay at Haven by the Sea in June. She received an email confirming that she reserved Room # 4.

When we arrived, Danny the innkeeper showed us to a room at the top of the spiral staircase. There was no Room # on it. While the room was clean, it had no exterior windows nor any air conditioning controls to adjust the temperature.

Since my wife booked this room and I thought she did the best she could, I did not want to say anything to cause a conflict.

After our stay, I mentioned to my wife that not having a window to look out of was unusual. My wife showed me her confirmation email which stated that she had reserved Room # 4 which was on the first floor.

After our stay, I sent Nancy the innkeeper a follow up email asking her for a discount for changing our room to a windowless room and she apologized but stated that they do that from time to time so as to not inconvenience the guests. She stated that they bend over backwards to accommodate their guests but she offered us nothing for having to stay in this room.

The pictures and reviews of Haven by the Sea do not mention or show the room with no exterior windows so buyer beware!

Response from Nancy Ezzo, Owner at Haven By The Sea B&b Inn
Responded Oct 28, 2021
If you had such a terrible time here, why did you call me and ask for a complimentary stay at another time??? I guess we aren't THAT aweful. If you were a little nicer on the phone, I might have entertained your request. Hmmmm....Based on our reviews, I guess we are not so bad after all.

We chose this B&B for its location, just one block from Wells beach. The B&B is a converted church with eight guest rooms, I believe. Every room is unique. The owners obviously have a lot of pride in their business. They are very friendly and welcoming. The interior is charming and offers many places to sit, enjoy the decor, or read a book. This locale is sparkling clean and the rooms were also immaculate. The ambiance is very welcoming, albeit a little busy with many nooks and interesting collections. Breakfast is fresh and delicious and served either indoors or out. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this property and recommend it to friends. There is plenty of parking. There is also wheelchair accessibility. The owners have two adorable dogs who are discrete or out of sight. Any drawback? The ceiling fan was slightly unbalanced and made a clicking noise. (We will let the owners know.) But the fan was not necessary, anyway.

The location is between the Atlantic and a slough. Our visit in October was after many of the leaves changed color. This church was built in the 1920s and was converted to a bed and breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well furnished. The bathroom is small but has all the normal amenities. The common areas include a library, living room, and dining room. The walls are a little thin, and we could hear our neighbor softly snore. We could also hear the water in showers and toilets flush. As with old buildings, you can hear creaking floors when people are walking. Quiet time is 10 to 8, and we did not hear any sounds during this time. Before breakfast, we walked the beach. Each morning, a unique breakfast was served between 8:30 and 9:30.

We experienced everything others have posted about. Great location, kind hosts, excellent breakfasts.

It was our first trip during COVID, but were pleasantly surprised to see everyone wearing masks. We learned that housekeeping is not allowed in rooms, but Nancy & Danny delivered fresh towels and emptied trash outside the room. I believe they have made it work in very difficult circumstances.

A spur of the moment weekend trip took us to this charming inn. What used to be a church is now a comfy bed and breakfast. The hosts, Nancy and Dan, are wonderful and made my wife and I feel right at home. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was sensational! One morning it was sweet french toast then the next morning delicious eggs benedict. Nancy was very accommodating at breakfast with dealing with my aversion to fruit and need for decaf coffee. It's a short walk to the beach in a pleasant neighborhood. You won't regret your stay at this friendly inn.

We spent two nights/days at Haven by the Sea in August 2023 and both Nancy and Danny do a wonderful job. Nancy makes you feel right at home and Danny cooks amazing breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect for an easy walk to the beach and Nancy has done a marvelous job decorating the B&B. Nancy will listen to any concerns/questions that come up and take care of them promptly. Our expectations were exceeded. If you enjoy B&B's I can't think of any reason you would not enjoy your stay at Haven by the sea. My only suggestion would be to possibly have box fans in the the room as the walls seem thin which causes you to hear different sounds of people walking, talking outside your room. Luckily the B&B is very quiet but we believe this could help.

Thanks for everything Nancy

Dave & Kim

This was our first stay at Haven By the Sea. The hosts are incredibly nice and friendly. The accommodations were quite spacious. We had reserved the deluxe suite with ocean view. It was a 2 room suite. The bedroom was large with a king bed that was comfortable. We would have preferred pillows that weren't quite so flat but it wasn't a big deal. The living room was spacious and had plenty of comfortable seating. Each room had a TV. The living room had a doorway that went out to a nice deck with table and chairs. It was also an egress down a staircase to where the cars were parked so we could come and go privately. There is an adorable little bar which
Nancy hosted as bartender for "Happy Hour".The beach was 4 houses away. Just a couple of criticisms - there was a large speaker located just outside our room door playing music all day and into the evening which was a bit annoying. We found the breakfasts to be a little sub-par but this did not take away from our satisfaction overall.
