Family owned and operated motel and cottages continuing the old style vacations of your childhood and your parents childhood. We are friendly and accommodating and our rooms and cottages are always very clean. We are a great destination for couples, families and retirees looking to relax.

This went from a friendly family owned place that had lots of charm to a very generic decor unappealing place with no hot water, the rates doubled and we will never stay here again. Sometimes new owners should leave well enough alone.

Friendly staff nice location and three days of beautiful weather that we couldn't use the pool due to a filter issue. I wish I had been told that there was an issue with the pool because I rented with the plan of using it had I of known I could of rented else where. Rooms are clean and we left it clean with a tip to show our thoughtfulness .

Great cottage which was super clean and well equipped. Owners care about your stay and it had a nice kitchen. The owner greeted us at checkin and helped us decide where to eat, shop, what to do, and how to get around. Super friendly and helpful !

We had a suite. Although when we arrived the room had not been cleaned. Kim took care of that. Our room was cleaned immediately. Kim & her staff were very friendly . We had to cut our trip short & had a friend come & stay. Kim was very accommodating with this. Pool was very clean & the children loved it.

After checking out available places on Airbnb vs TripAdvisor/Booking I decided to book here because of the positive reviews. I didn’t look at the number of stars this location had until I was ready to check in. One star! Why? It is a great place to stay! Super clean cottages have everything you need…comfy bed, for me perfect pillows (I love firm and there are 3 so perfect for me) Staff was pleasant and helpful! Plenty of restaurants nearby to cover all your culinary needs! Great grounds, picnic tables and grills, pool, plenty of lawn chair options around the property. Not too many guests when I checked in but more when I checked out and all so quiet and polite. I will definitely be back and recommend this spot to my family and friends who love the Wells area!!

We’ve been going to Wells for close to 10 years, every summer w the fam. We used to stay at the end of Mile rd, right next to the beach. Unfortunately, there is only 1 dog friendly cottage and the people staying there have been there for years. We didn’t want to leave Max 🐶 home w a sitter anymore. We missed him too much and couldn’t enjoy our vacation as much w our him. So we stayed at 1 dog friendly cottage near by, but it was soooo small u could barely walk in there it was so tight. Walking over Maxs bed, food and water bowls, his toys, not to mention it was slanted! So the next year we stayed at Beaches in a cottage. It was like a mansion compared to the other place we had stayed at the year previous. The bed was ok, but I have a bad back, so no bed is ever good. The first year Max wasn’t super comfortable, he prefers home. The screen doors on the porch’s kept slamming and making loud bangs. Every time he heard it he’d hop off the bed or get up from his bed if he was laying down. It was frustrating So the screen doors were too loud. But last year, I think, they changed the doors or put something on them so they didn’t make so much noise when they slammed. For some reason people don’t know how to use door knobs, turn them and close the door, as opposed to the slamming it. Same w the porch, but it does seem like there was something done about those doors. Maybe the owners could put a sign next to the doors asking people to try not to slam them, because the cottages r so close together. It is nice to have that small grassy area behind the pool for the dogs to walk/potty on and poop bags r even provided, even though we should all have our own! 1 thing that would b nice, if there could b some trees between the rd and pool, to maybe help block some of the traffic sounds. Basically everything u need to cook is provided for u in the kitchen, so that’s convenient. It’s really nice how dog friendly it is, the owners r always very kind to our 65lbs pit mix, chicken dog!! Last thing, we love the little screened in porch. We’ll c u all next summer!!! ✌🏼💜🐶+☀️

My friend, Dog and I stayed in Room 14 in June and it was great. Room was very clean and you would never know this was a dog friendly motel. Check in was easy, staff was friendly, Bed is pretty comfortable, Shower was awesome, I wish I could bring that water pressure shower head home with me, I guess I need to come back. Our room had a kitchenette with a stove top and a microwave and coffee maker, they even supplied some coffee as well as dishes we could use and dish soap! It was a little small to sit in the kitchen but the table in the room area worked perfectly. The refrigerator was dorm room size, but immaculate. We even had ice cubes waiting for us :-) It is a little tight if you need to put a kennel in the room, so we did not set it up. There is only one area to walk your dog so, I recommend that you walk in the local park area or on the beach. When we were there in June, the time for dogs on the beach was before 8 and after 6. Great Location too, It's close to everything from Kennebunkport to York and all the beaches! I have been recommending The Beaches Motel & Cottages to my friends as well. Can you tell I enjoyed my stay? :-)

I spent three very enjoyable nights at The Beaches Motel. It was clean and convenient to shops, with a nice little pool, and just over a mile from Wells Beach. I brought my bicycle with me and was easily able to cycle to the beach every day. It is a small, family run motel, with a pleasantly old-fashioned feel to it. The owners were very helpful and friendly. It's on the main road (route 1) but traffic noise wasn't a problem. I had a room with a kitchenette which was nice as I was able to make my own food on a couple of nights. Eating out in the area can become expensive. Good value for the price.

My wife and I were looking to get away up to Maine for a few nights, but we didn't want to board our dog Romeo who is our rescue from Aruba and just over a year old. I did some research on line and came across The Beaches, so I decided after reading all the great reviews to give it a shot. I have to say, if you are looking for a place to vacation and bring your dog, this is the best place! We rented one of the cottages for three nights and we will definitely be back. The owners Judy and Joe were over the top accommodating and Judy’s grandson Connor was working hard and awesome as well! We ended up staying a fourth night and enjoyed another beautiful day by the pool! Awesome place, awesome people...can’t wait to go back...thank you for an awesome time!!

We decided last minute to getaway for a few nights with our pup and choose this motel due to being dog friendly .We were thrilled with our choice super clean very quaint and most if all very dog friendly .We loved the pool and the swings to sit on in the evening .Property is so well kept , when I say room was spotless that's an understatement they do everything during Covid 19 to make check in safe and easy .I want to especially say I watched the owners son who I was told by his dad was responsible for cleaning the rooms never stop the whole time we were there what a work ethic this young man has that's says something about this establishment being a family run businesses .We can't wait to return and this time rent a cottage .
