Upon arrival you are greeted warmly and graciously by owners/ hosts Bill and Michael, what a great team.
Their Inn is lovely, charming rooms that are furnished in light airy colors, comfy beds, quality Turkish cotton towels, a mini fridge, real wine glasses and corkscrew, comfortable chairs, and plenty of ventilation. Their keen eye for detail is apparent in the coasters on all tables, felt floor protectors on all chairs, the art work in each room, the placement of mirrors, and way they have mixed the masculine with the feminine in the choice of fabric and design.
The breakfast was very good, your choice of blueberry bread or cinnamon breakfast cake( both incredible), a delightfully presented French Toast topped with Maine blueberries, and strawberries, real maple syrup, and a side of sliced fruit. A guaranteed hot breakfast each morning, and never the same thing.
The location is perfect while visiting Ongunquit, or Kennebunkport. This Wells gem is not to be missed. Thank you Michael, Bill, and Bentley ( their dog) for an excellent stay.

Recently we decided to escape the confines of NYC and visit Maine for the first time. While looking for a place we wanted something intimate, clean, warm, welcoming and in a good location and we stumbled upon The Elmere House Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the suite for four nights and every evening it was a restful night and every morning was full of a hearty delicious breakfast. I can go on and on about how much we loved Elmere House. Our hosts Bill and Michael were the best it was like we had just run into long lost friends. They were friendly and made some recommendations that were spot on. Joshua’s for dinner Kim Kuzma disco Sunday’s at The Front Porch and Marginal Way walk to name a few. I can’t wait to go in the summer or months and perhaps an early winter visit if possible. Loved loved loved. Highly recommend people staying here who want to be at a great location as everything is nearby. Pictures don’t do it justice. Support small innkeepers and treat their home with love when visiting.

We rented suite number 2 for two nights and couldn’t have been happier. The hosts were amazing always willing to offer suggestions on what to see and where to go eat. The room was immaculate and spacious, and if you rent two nights before July 15 you also get a free dinner for two at Clay Hill Farm. It was delicious. There is nothing that wasn’t great about this place

My soon to be fiancé and I stayed here for two nights for a quick get away. We were greeted by our hosts by name when we arrived. They were very friendly and in all waysa accommodating. Our room was prepared for us and was immaculate. The furnishings were very nice and the bed was quite comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. The entire B&B was extremely well maintained both inside and out from the beautifully manicured lawns and flower beds to the tastefully decorated interior. The hallways are lined with beautiful artwork. The included breakfast was more like a brunch. For starters each day we were served a choice of cinnamon coffee or blueberry cake with a slice of fresh melon. Our first morning we had blueberry pancakes with sausage. On day two we were served eggs Benedict. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the eggs were exceptional. The servings were generous. The coffee I should mention was also top grade.
I highly recommend a stay here. You will not be in any way disappointed. Quite to the contrary you will be delighted to stay at such a beautiful well maintained establishment.

The Elmere House Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful B&B experience we can highly recommend! Everything, from the beautifully decorated rooms, super comfortable bed and Bill’s fantastic delicious full breakfasts, was perfect. Michael & Bill are friendly enthusiastic hosts who create a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
The the house is spotless, the gardens and landscape are lovely and there is a gas fireplace and sitting area outside as well as the wrap around porch where you can relax & unwind after a day at the beach or shopping. So much to do from site seeing, boat rides from Perkins Cove or hanging at the beach, Elmere House is an excellent base location.
Recommend staying at least a few days to soak in all of benefits of this refreshing getaway.

Everything about our stay was great right from the start. The property is meticulously maintained, beautifully decorated and the owners will make you feel like you're staying with friends. Breakfast is made from scratch from the blueberry cake to the mouth watering pancakes. If you like the B&B experience, this is as authentic as it gets!

Tastefully appointed bed and breakfast located near to all the scenic views and sleepy coastal villages Maine is known for. Greeted warmly by both hosts, Bill and Michael were friendly and warm. Both were full of wonderful recommendations of where to find good, seafood fare, with insider insights in order to sate our need for lobster and chowder. Sending us to the where the locals go to eat, we were delighted to find new restaurant discoveries, after returning back to the area after several years. The rooms are airy and bright, with thoughtful touches of what a guest may need during their stay. I can't fail to mention that Bill whips up a delicious homemade breakfast, and Michael delivers the provisions with flair and ample conversation. It felt more like a gathering of friends than a routine task. Throughout our stay we felt safe and comfortable. Bill and Michael followed through with all the necessary Covid-19 protocols, but it was pleasant to see that the essence of what makes a bnb so special was not lost. Upon leaving it was wistful, but we certainly have placed this lovely find on our list of favorite haunts in Maine and look forward to returning back and sharing it with friends!

After staying at the Elmere house this past July, we decided to return for another two night visit in October. This is one of the places we feel comfortable staying at during this period of time. The place was immaculate and the breakfast was excellent as usual. My wife wrote a review back in July describing her experience and I wanted to talk about something that I thought was impressive during this recent stay. One night, we wanted to watch two different TV programs, and I thought that I would just fire up a streaming app on my phone to watch the baseball game. I first ran an app to see if the WiFi had enough horsepower to steam TV and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was running at 80mbps! I was impressed and had no performance issues over the two days. I don't have a lot of expectations for most guest WiFi's at places we stay, but this was awesome. It is a relatively small thing, but I am sure it is of importance to some folks.

My wife and I had been looking for a place to stay in Wells for a while and have tried many different locations and B&B's as we are up to visit my parents a few times a year. Michael and Bill are such gracious hosts and made sure we feel right at home and took care of any needs or requests we had. The rooms are well sized with comfortable beds, and even though the property is on Route 1, it is set back enough and fenced to feel private. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well kept, and there is more than adequate parking. We will definitely be staying with Bill and Michael the next time we head to Maine. Couldn't have been happier or asked for more. Highly recommended!
