a local friend arranged the visit to Fulidhoo for a quick weekend, and he placed us at Thundi Guest House. The island, about almost an hour away from Male with a speedboat, is small but charming in its own way. Don't expect shopping mall (1 convenient stall was there) or lots of place to eat (exactly ONE restaurant). But you should lack nothing if your goal was to relax and do some excursions or dive trips. The Thundi Guest House is really great in my opinion. Shifaz and Arif have been really friendly and helpful. They are very fast to our questions and requests. Food are provided (breakfast was included for us, and lunch + dinner upon order with additional cost) so we don't really need to even eat out. Excursion to see dolphin was wonderful - we managed to "swim" along for almost an hour, witnessing the great performers having fun swiming and jumping in front of us. Dive shop is just a few minutes away - Fulidhoo Dive took us out for 2 dive trips and I must say Ali and his team are very professional and friendly. The sites they brought us to were nice and enjoyable. I like the part the trips are never about rushing to see everything - it is about enjoying and respecting the sea. All in all, the trip was short but memorable. Would really look forward to visiting Fulidhoo again, hopefully soon.

The tiny sandy island is a little Paradise on earth - especially in August, when there is not so much tourists. You can walk around it in a half an hour by foot, and enjoy the tranquility, the birdsong and the rumble of the see. There are only few little shops, a school, a mosque, and two restaurants on the island - total peace... The well equipped nice hotel has clean rooms and perfect localisation with sea view - the sand is white, the water is clear - the food and programs organized by the hotel are great - and the most important: we’ve never met such caring, warm hearted and attentive people, like the Thundi Guest House’s hotel management. The hospitality and affectionate attitude of Shifaz (and Hussein, Arif and the whole staff) is unsurpassed (they fulfilled our all requests immediately), their sensitive attention and helpfulness is exemplary - we all could learn from them a lot, first of all humanness. Shifaz - thank you and your staff again - You gave us much more, than few marvelous days of relax on a wonderful island. We hope strongly, that we will have opportunity to come back sometime. God bless you all! Thundi Guesthouse on Fulidoo island is strongly recommended for everybody, who is sensitive for beauty of the life: nature, peace and local people:)

I and a college friend visited Fulidhoo during our trip to the Maldives. The trip was affordable and still very enjoyable since we preferred and really loved staying at a local island, particularly Fulidhoo. I did extensive research into blogs by backpackers and budget traveling in the Maldives, and Fulidhoo was highly recommended across many of them, and in almost all of them Thundi was recommended as well. The transport to the island is convenient and affordable; we took the speedboat to get there and the ferry the way back. Arif greeted us on the dock and brought us over. The room was overlooking the beach and tables outside. The room itself was very clean and spacious and comfortable. The only thing to keep in mind is to bring soap and mini toiletries. The food was great. We enjoyed eating local food like the fish, fruits, and curry. It was very good and it was nice being able to each outside. It is much more convenient and preferable to pay ahead for full board or for whatever meals you would like in advance. For excursions, Arif was very helpful in coordinating a trip that combined 3 trips for the price of one by contacting other people on the island. We were able to snorkel with sharks, turtles, lots of fish and see the reef as well as visit a sand bank. We were very happy to have done so much in the time there. Bikini beach, and everything else like the stores and local buildings are all very close. The beach is very clean and peaceful and a great place to relax for a long time. By the dock there are also sting rays in the shallow areas of the water to watch. Staying at Fulidhoo and Thundi was a great experience that I would highly recommend. The quality of housing and food were amazing and we had an amazing time exploring the island and doing activities away from the island as well. It is very accessible but also remote and very peaceful which makes for a perfect, authentic, and also affordable experience.

The property had amazing staff which were very friendly and helpful. The room has everything you need + a nice sea view. It’s also really near to the bikini beach and the market. The food was good, but it had little variety.

Thundi was an excellent choice for my friend and I. It was a short walk to the dive shop, and well, everywhere else. There is an area with hammocks outfront and a private beach that is great for snorkeling. I would absolutely stay again
