Great lodging option close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The cottages were cheaper than other options in the area. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Due to covid, they could not provide muffins and coffee in the lobby so they delivered muffins each morning.

Location was desirable! Only 15 minutes away from Acadia National Park. We stayed at the lodge which has a king size bed, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The room was spacious and clean. We love the balcony, perfect place to unwind. Anne, our innkeeper was one of the nicest person we have met and you have to try her freshly baked muffins. So good! Definitely we will stay at their inn again.

My husband and I stayed here for July 4th weekend, and the cottages at open hearth were a perfect home base! They normally serve muffins and coffee in the lobby in the mornings, but due to Covid19, they delivered the muffins to our doorstep every morning!!! (which actually meant I got to enjoy them because I probably would have missed out during normal times) We stayed in cabin 7 so we could have access to a range, it was a perfect sized space for the 2 of us. We were also pumped to use the grill on the 4th - and they gave us so many local recommendations that all were 10/10. Also - it was only 15 or so minutes or so to get to Bar Harbor or the Acadia park entrance, and also 20 - 30 to get to southern points on the opposite side of the Mount Desert peninsula. I would definitely stay here again! (And check out sugar bakery across the street! We basically ate an entire blueberry pie from there in a day it was so good!)

Thank you for the wonderful review! These are strange times indeed, and we are so aware that our guests may not be receiving the best that Open Hearth Inn has offer due to so many restrictions. We are so please that you will come back to stay again!

We stayed in Apt B. The apt was very clean and well maintained. Our stay was very comfortable. The lady in the front office was very welcoming and nice. Do not miss the cupcakes. They are simply delicious. We were also offered 4 extra cupcakes during checkout for the road which I thought was a very kind gesture. OHI is a wonderful and sweet place to stay with family. The rooms were great. The kitchen was fully stocked. Bathroom had numerous fresh towels and toiletries. The fireplace is great. Overall our experience in apartment b was excellent. This is a very warm and nice place to stay with family. Exceeds all expectation.....
