Tom and Judy are completely delightful. Super warm and helpful about things to do in the area. Breakfasts by Judy, sumptuous! Beautiful setting and view of the river. Rooms very nice and comfortable. Very relaxing stay, much needed! Hope to return often.

Tom and Judy were wonderful hosts. Their home is inviting, and the view of the river out our window was wonderful. Both Tom and Judy were very approachable and offered us many options of things to do. We had only planned on staying one day and ended up staying three. Can not wait to go back. We were there in November and were still offered an outside fire pit to use as well.

We had a delightful stay with Tom and Judy. They are exemplary hosts and have a great knowledge of the area. Our room was comfortable and lovely, with a gorgeous view of the river. Breakfast was just perfect. Judy even gave me her recipe after I mentioned I'd like to make it at home! We would absolutely stay here again. We frequent B&B's when we go away, and this one is exceptional.

Tom and Judy are kind, thoughtful, and personable. They are the reason we prefer Bed and Breakfast to corporate motels. Their home is homey and charming. Tom served us breakfast in the garden. The meal was excellent and the view was beautiful. Everything was perfect. I have fond memories of our trip to the coast of Maine and Tom and Judy are a big part of that.

We only stayed here one night, but if we'd known how delightful The Black Lantern is, we'd have planned to stay longer. Breakfast was incredible and the hosts are friendly and helpful. Our room was cozy and pretty. The location by the river makes for a relaxing visit.

Thanks for your very kind comments. We enjoyed having you stay with us. While we would have liked you to stay longer we recognize many visitors to Maine have specific destinations in mind and need to include one night stays in their travels. For that reason we, unlike many other B & B in the area, continue to accept / encourage one night stays and try to make that short stay memorable. Tom

We stayed at the Black Lantern B&B during a recent reunion at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. Tom and Judy were very attentive hosts and the place was immaculate. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast in a beautiful garden overlooking the Androscoggin River. The room was well appointed and we loved the homey atmosphere. We hope to return one day soon.

The Black Lantern is wonderful. Quiet, beautiful grounds, easy access to everything Brunswick, Freeport, and Harpswell, Bailey island. The gazebo and gardens are perfect for relaxation and watching the river roll by. Breakfast is the best !

The Black Lantern was our stay for one night on our mother-daughter road trip through Maine. It exceeded our expectations! This beautiful home has stunning river views and a serene, sprawling garden filled with songbirds and to our delight, chipmunks. Our room (the Garden Room) was immaculate, clean, airy, and filled with beautiful decor (as with the rest of the home). This mid-19th century home is so loved. The best part was undoubtedly the wonderful conversation with Tom and Judy, who prepared a delicious breakfast in the dining room. I was impressed with the creative, fresh menu! Everything was tailored to meet our needs. We can’t wait to come back. It is worth adding that Tom and Judy were communicative and accommodating through the booking process before we even met them! We had to make some changes to our itinerary and they were so flexible. They are the best of the best!

My two sisters and I reserved all three rooms at the inn this week. Tom and Judy were amazing hosts for our visit. The Inn has all the charm and warmth you will want for your visit. Make sure to walk down to the water's edge to see the beautiful sunset from their place. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
