#1 of 3 B&Bs / Inns in Tenants Harbor
Travelers' Choice
The East Wind Inn consists of two historical buildings, the main inn building, built in 1860 and the Meeting House building built in the late 1800s as a sea captain's mansion. The main inn building houses 8 suites, our reception area, living room, restaurant and tavern. The Inn is located on the waterfront in beautiful Tenants Harbor, an authentic rural Maine fishing harbor. The inn has a large lawn area available for group events or just sitting and enjoying the view or painting the landscape. The East Wind Inn was selected by Yankee Magazine for a 2018 Editor's Choice Award for the Best Maine Inn Room Views.

Had enough staying at home because of Covid-19 so decided to head to Tenant's Harbor for a weekend get-away. What a pleasant surprise! We had stated at the East Winds manyvyears ago under previous ownership. The new owner, Randy, has done a great job with not only renovation but also assembling a really friendly and top quality staff. Tenant's Harbor is gorgeous, do what's not to like?

The East Wind shows off Tenants Harbor at its best. The inn is actually lovelier than the photographs show; very true New England feel. We had a wonderful view of the harbor and loved our breakfasts! During Covid, the inn was quiet but I wouldn’t hesitate to book with more people around. There are many beautiful decks and comfortable sitting rooms in the inn’s two buildings. The room was very comfortable and the inn is an easy drive into Rockland. If you are kayakers, there are many beautiful launch areas around this section of Maine- we loved the area!

We spent the 4th of July weekend at The East Wind Inn and loved it. Our suite was lovely and had a great view of the (foggy!) harbor. We were told the inn is known for great breakfasts and it's true! The food was delicious and beautifully served. During our visit the dining room was closed for dinner so we enjoyed dinner on the dock at Port Clyde's Dip Net (make reservations if you go). We also enjoyed taking photos at Marshall Point Lighthouse, hiking at Pleasant Point Preserve in Cushing, and Clark Island in Spruce Point. Our final (wonderful) dinner and fireworks were at Craignair Inn. Before heading home, we stopped in at the Owls Head Transportation Museum and were very impressed -- really worth a visit. Book a day/time in advance.

Beautiful Inn, Breathtaking setting. The room was very large, clean and comfortable with view! Such a peaceful place. The breakfast was exceptional with a terrific menu made fresh, so good, couldn't begin to eat it all. We loved this Inn. Like a postcard come to life. (would make for a great movie)

The rooms are nice, very clean and comfortable. The location is great, quiet, near the water with exceptional views. Breakfast is very good with a good variety and food that is prepared very well. Dinner at the East Wind is exceptional, good menu. There is a Tavern located on site. The staff is friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The inn is located close to restaurants and local shopping. Would definitely stay again.
