The East Wind Inn consists of two historical buildings, the main inn building, built in 1860 and the Meeting House building built in the late 1800s as a sea captain's mansion. The main inn building houses More 8 suites, our reception area, living room, restaurant and tavern. The Inn is located on the waterfront in beautiful Tenants Harbor, an authentic rural Maine fishing harbor. The inn has a large lawn area available for group events or just sitting and enjoying the view or painting the landscape. The East Wind Inn was selected by Yankee Magazine for a 2018 Editor's Choice Award for the Best Maine Inn Room Views. Less

I can’t imagine a better spot for this Inn.
It’s how I envisaged a great Maine costal location.
Our room was in a block a short walk away from the main Inn building. Our bedroom & bathroom were fine and the view from room was stunning. Seeing the sun rise over the harbour at day

The East Wind Inn management appreciates this positive review of our inn. We are very proud of our unique location with views that had Yankee Magazine choose the East Wind Inn as an editor's choice for best inn room views in Maine. The Wan-e-set restaurant is a part of the inn and we are very proud of the meal service, especially our breakfasts, which are included with the room, that get rave reviews from guests. We are very sorry that this guest had an unsatisfactory dining experience in our restaurant.

Drove up Saturday after Breakfast from Boston got there late afternoon.

Randy the Inn Keeper was extremely efficient and gracious. He had everything ready just had to sign my name and we were checked in. Faster than a mobile check in frankly! Sorry SPG if only you were this

Totally lovely place! The setting felt like "real Maine": right on a busy little harbor, with lobstermen and other fishermen heading out in the early morning. I stayed only one night, but was very impressed with the dinner menu and with the scrumptious (and filling) complementary

Thank you. We believe that we provide one of the best "real Maine" experiences on the Coast of Maine. Tenants Harbor is a beautiful working Lobster boat harbor. We have an excellent lobster shack next door, and the sun rises and sun sets are magnificent looking out to the mouth of the harbor.

Spectacular location, competent friendly staff, superior food and a most welcoming innkeeper. My duck with pears and sweet potatoes was imaginative and delicious. Sunrise views across the harbor are quintessential Maine.
We hope to return next year.

How far in driving distance from Bar Harbor are you? Thanks.
Hello SusanQKC, Bar Harbor is roughly 97 miles/ 2.5 hours away from Tenants Harbor, where the Inn is located. It is a beautiful drive along Route One with potential stops in the coastal towns of Camden and Belfast. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
