We Have stayed in many B&B's and Inns. This one was the best by far.The view from outside our room of Frenchman's Bay was amazing ! Angie and Todd were the perfect hosts, warm, welcoming and very helpful. They thought of everything, right down to making special gluten free treats and awesome blueberry muffins for breakfast .We are early risers and really appreciated the hot coffee ready for us early before breakfast. Angie provided cozy blankets so we could enjoy our breakfast outside on the deck during a chilly morning. Our hosts also told us about great places to eat, where to get the best lobster, and gave us driving tips and shortcuts to get to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The Inn was decorated beautifully for Halloween and the fall season. So many festive little touches everywhere, even in our room. We loved the homemade sweets waiting for us when we came back for the night set out on on a table at the bottom of the stairs. This would be the only place we would ever stay when vacationing in this part of Maine.

There are many things to love about the Acadia Bay Inn: the mansion is a wonder, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast on the porch and a view of Frenchman Bay and Cadillac Mountain that will stay in your memory until death do you part. While all of that is nice, the reason to stay here, as far as we're concerned, is Todd and Angie - your hosts. They love what they're doing, and it shows not only in the way they treat their guests, but in how they respond to the unexpected, such as when my wife and I went to get in our car one morning and found it covered by bees. Presented with this problem, Angie calmly grabbed a broom and began to gently shoo the pesky pollinators away from the driver-side door so Todd could get in and take the car for a bee-cleansing drive. Problem solved. The Acadia also offers the best experience Maine's rocky coastline has to offer - its rugged, beauty and its solitude. We had a balcony facing the bay and we loved returning from a day in the park to sit with a glass of wine in the evening and watch the sky fade from sunlit gold to purple to black. On clear nights, the stars, to quote Carole King, "put on a show for free." Two last words for our coffee-loving friends - French press. We stayed three nights, which was nowhere near enough.

My husband and I took our first trip to Maine to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We stayed at several places along the coast, but Acadia Bay Inn was by far our favorite. In fact, it might be the best place we’ve ever stayed! Not only are the inn and surrounding area beautiful, but Angie and Todd are the perfect hosts. Todd greeted us warmly when we arrived, gave us a quick tour and showed us to our room - the Sea Rose. He told us it had the best view of all the rooms and he wasn’t kidding. What an absolute pleasure it was to wake up to a view of Frenchman Bay and Cadillac Mountain each morning! We met Angie shortly after we checked in. She was working in her flower garden as we went out for a walk along the beach. She greeted us like long lost friends, and made us feel incredibly welcome. Knowing it was our anniversary, Angie and Todd gave us each a mimosa the next morning, and brought us breakfast complete with a candle and song. Such a sweet touch! Speaking of breakfast - oh my goodness! Everything was absolutely delicious, with a beautiful presentation. Our favorites were Todd’s breakfast lasagna and Angie’s blueberry muffins. Our room was gorgeous, with a nautical theme. Our balcony was awesome - we loved sitting out there with some wine or beer while enjoying the view. And the bed was incredibly comfortable - we slept like babies! We were so impressed with the attention to detail in our room and throughout the house. Each morning there were snacks like tail mix or freshly picked apples for us to take on our day’s journey, and each afternoon there were treats like cookies, rum balls and cider. Thank you, Angie and Todd, for a wonderful stay! We loved every minute of our time at your beautiful inn, and wish we could have stayed longer.
