Tucked away in Sullivan, Maine, directly on Frenchman Bay, Acadia Bay Inn is a beautiful property with comfy beds, old school charm, and absolutely stunning views. A backdrop of the bay and Acadia National Park’s Cadillac Mountain in the distance makes for a perfect place to stay and relax – a quiet oasis that provides more space and solitude compared to the buzzing of Bar Harbor, but still easy access to the park (both Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula). This would be enough to make this an easy place to recommend, but in addition to its pristine location, Acadia Bay Inn also has two gracious hosts – Nicole & Matt – who take hospitality seriously and provide a welcoming atmosphere and delicious breakfast. We were lucky enough to have Acadia Bay Inn as a wedding venue and could not have dreamt up a better spot to celebrate. Nicole was easy to work with – cost and expectations were set up front and reasonably, and she communicated clearly with us as well as with our vendors as needed, making our destination wedding possible. In the months leading up to our big day as well as during our wedding weekend, she made it all feel seamless to us, making our logistical worries minimal if nonexistent. Each one of their rooms are clean, cozy, and unique, but the waterfront rooms are truly special with the balconies looking out onto the bay. Book a stay for a few nights, book a stay for a week, or explore it as a venue option, but if you’re looking for a spot to treat yourself in Downeast Maine, this is it!…
My wife and I had a wonderful five days at Acadia Bay Inn, celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary. We loved the cleanliness and hospitality. The scrumptious breakfasts that were served with a smiley face every morning made for a great start of the day. We felt at home and very comfortable. Both Nicole and Matt are great hosts and we were treated like royalty. We have nothing but praise for them. If we are in the area again there will be no hesitation on our part about staying at the famous Acadia Bay Inn B&B. Thank you Nicole and Matt and hopefully we will see you again. Pierre Ans Barb
Acadia Bay Inn is one of those rare finds that is everything you want when traveling. My husband and I have stayed multiple times and have already booked our 2023 trip. It checks all the boxes for ease of check in, clean rooms with comfortable beds, picturesque grounds and 4 rooms with beautiful water and Acadia mountain views. Nicole and Matt go even further than that providing a phenomenal breakfast experience. They definitely are the gold standard for B & B hosts. We do extensive traveling and have not stayed at a better B & B. We usually find ourselves staying one or two nights at a B & B and then moving on. Acadia Bay Inn is now our home base when visiting Acadia National Park for the week. It is our quiet retreat after a busy day of taking in all there is to do in and around the area.…
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Acadia Bay Inn. It’s outside Bar Harbor and very peaceful. The Innkeepers Nichole and Matt were very nice. However wish they would have interacted more with the guests beyond check in and breakfast. We stayed in the Jasmine room and the view was outstanding! Loved the French Press Coffee with morning breakfast. Since there are no TV’s at the Inn wish I would have brought a book. If you want a quiet, peaceful getaway with beautiful surroundings outside the hustle of Bar Harbor in the Acadia area this is a good pick. We will return in the future!
My husband and I spent three days at the fabulous Acadia Bay Inn. The views are stunning, so much so that we chose to spend one of our afternoons just sitting on the deck enjoying it. Matt and Nicole are welcoming and knowledgable hosts who provided suggestions on where to eat and things to do. Nicole is an excellent cook. The breakfasts are delicious!! We are looking forward to going back.
Our second time staying at Acadia Bay Inn and it's far and away our favorite. Evenings on our balcony sipping wine were the perfect end to our day. Breakfasts were amazing, with an added view overlooking the bay. Matt & Nicole are always the best hosts. We'll be scheduling our trip for next year!
The location, view, hosts, accommodations, breakfast, and coffee were all outstanding. We can't wait to return. Make sure to ask Matt where to hike. Plus, an easy ferry close by will take you straight into Bar Harbor.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming B and B. Matt was so helpful in pointing out great local spots to visit on the Schoodic penninsula! The breakfasts were delicious and the view was spectactular! We will be back.
Everything about our stay at Acadia Bay Inn was wonderful. The breakfasts were amazing and the room was beautiful. Our favorite part of the room was the deck overlooking the bay. Such a relaxing place. We only wished that the Inn was located closer to Acadia National Park as it was almost 40 minutes away, but it was close to Acadia's Schoodic Peninsula, the mainland part of Acadia. Matt gave us some great tips on places to see nearby. Nicole and Matt are warm and friendly and are also great cooks! The housekeeper was also very friendly and helpful!
Celebrated our 40 th anniversary with best friends at this beautiful inn! What a treat to have Nicole and Matt as our hosts! They were ever aware of our comfort and happiness - offering dining suggestions - quiet beaches and authentic Maine coast lunch experiences! Our room was clean and spacious - with a comfy bed and soft linens. The view from the deck was stunning - and the breakfasts - well we are still starting our day wondering what Nicole and Matt are cooking up for breakfast and wishing we were there! Already looking forward to next year!
