Cozy, beautiful spot far away from the crowds but close enough to restaurants and other activities. Booked it through AirBnB, So many trails close by. Enjoyed it so much. Equipped with kitchen, a living & kitchen area, bedrooms, it is more than comfortable for a family traveling with kids and wanting to do outdoor activities close by (hikes, kayaking, cruises on the lake ). Clean accommodation & responsive owner.

This was a great place to stay in the Stratton area. The rooms were very clean and decorated for the region, with beautiful pine walls, Pergo floors and cute bed spreads. The price was great and included a kitchenette with fridge, stove and a coffee pot in the room. The owners of the motel were friendly and knowledgeable. We have family in the area and are definitely going back.

No mice in our room, granted, it was winter...

Seriously, we booked a room for a weekend of snowboard competitions at Sugarloaf on the recommendation of a friend. Family owned business that was very accommodating. After making the reservation, the owner upgraded us to the 2 room suite at no extra charge because we have 5 of us, 3 of them kids and I needed a roll-away cot.

The rooms were rustic, but clean, well supplied, and just what we needed. If I'd known I'd have a fridge etc... I would've packed breakfast stuff! Bed was comfy for me. Kids were very satisfied, and you know when your kids don't whine things are OK. LOL We had cable and WiFi, even though we really weren't there much...we were on the mountain for events and meals with friends. If you're looking to avoid on-mountain prices this place delivers. Thank you Mountain View! We definitely sent some friends whose kids ski all over Maine your way.

We booked a night at the motel because our party of three was going on a hike in the Bigelow Preserve in the Stratton area. We said we would get there around 10-11 PM and they said they would leave a key for us in the event that they were gone. As we came in, they were still there and we talked for a few minutes. They were very kind to us. The rooms are very nice. We had room 3, with one double bed and a bunk bed. An equipped kitchen and private bathroom were in the room as well. Very clean. Overall, very satisfied with the motel!

Just an overnight. Came from Quebec City and had to look at accomodations at Sugarloaf for upcoming nuptials. Friday night during President's week. Made a reservation here because the mountain is just too expensive and they probably were booked anyway. Since there aren't any national chains in the area your choice is of "mom and pop" motels. My wife, thinking of small motels in the Adirondacks, Catskills or Poconos, was terrified. Little did she know that I had already checked it out on Trip Advisor. My wife was pleasantly surprised. We had a nice room (#7). It's certainly basic but clean and comfortable which were the main things we were looking for. Somewhat expensive for what you get but it was the holiday week. I didn't check, but compared to Sugarloaf it probably is a deal. Owners are the caretakers and are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Mountain View Motel this past April for Reggae Weekend at Sugarloaf. Because it's one of the busiest weekends of the year and we booked pretty late, it was a little bit pricey ($180/night) for what it was worth. Our room had a double bed and a set of bunk beds, which was good because there were four of us. However, they charged an extra $10 per person. The beds were pretty hard and very squeaky. The bathroom was clean but very small and didn't offer any complimentary toiletries, save for a couple tiny bars of soap. The kitchenette was a nice amenity, but make sure you wash any dishes that you use - we were lucky to notice a fine-print sign warning that an additional $50 would be charged for any unwashed dishes. We didn't get much sleep because we could hear every word that the people next to us said, and they stayed up making noise until dawn. Overall the motel was a secluded, cozy place to stay, only about 10 minutes up the road from the mountain entrance. It was definitely a little overpriced but I think that rates are normally much lower - every hotel in the area has sky-high rates during Reggae Weekend. I was happy to support a local family-owned business.

I was up in the area for work and this place was affordable so I booked it. Super quaint with really friendly owners. I thought I had reviewed this earlier, but never got the chance. I blew my knee out skiing and while I was laid up the owner would bring me ice and call me before trips to the store to get me things. This is the kind of intimate service only a family owned place can give. If in every lucky enough to be in the area again I will absolutely stay there, and I always recommend it to coworkers heading up that way.

Looked for a place to stay a few days over Christmas near Sugarloaf. The rooms looked cozy online and the owners were friendly so we booked the room. It was perfect for my husband, me and our two dogs. The full kitchen was a plus and we were able to enjoy the holiday, skiing and our pups! The only draw back was a sign above the heater which cautioned of fire and overheating, kind of sketchy, but otherwise we were extremely pleased. Will definitely stay there again!

Thank you for taking time to rate our motel... the note above the heater says "This heater becomes very HOT, it will burn anything that is lying directly on it or against the front of it. Something burning on it could cause a fire". These heaters are very efficient and heat the rooms so well (even in a power outage). It is a heat source and should be treated as so. Just trying to keep everyone safe. Glad to see that you read the note. We enjoyed meeting you and both of your dogs and happy that you chose to stay with us. Mark & Cindy

We stayed at the Mountain View Motel for one night during our recent trip throughout Maine. Our GPS took us on a "short cut" which put us several hours behind schedule and we didn't arrive until almost 10 PM... The owners kindly waited up for us and were very friendly and helpful. They gave us tips on where to look for moose while in the area and their suggestion of a drive up Quill Hill was great advice. The kitchen was a bonus, allowing us to prepare breakfast and be on our way to see the sights in a very beautiful part of the world!

Four friends and I decided to stay here instead of the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel to snowboard for four days. It's a lot less expensive and only ten minutes from the mountain. We booked a room fit for three with the plan to put an air mattress in the kitchen as it was the least expensive room. When I told the owner at the front desk that we were booking it for four, she told us we could have a larger room that actually had room for four for no extra charge! She and her husband are extremely friendly and work hard to keep up the place. The steps up to our room were shoveled and the parking lot was cleared of two feet of new snow before we woke up at 7:30 in the morning! I'd recommend this motel to anyone visiting Sugarloaf.
