This is obviously a place for hikers, but even though we were motorcycling through, we enjoyed our stay. Check in was thorough- telling us about all the amenities. Room was comfortable and clean. Next door is a nice restaurant. Breakfast was brought to our room- yogurt, granola, milk, pineapple juice, coffee.
I wasn’t to start by saying that my wife and I are both 23 years old, and I feel like it’s safe to say we’re normal and not wacked out like I feel some people are who review stuff on here. My wife and I stayed her for 2 nights, and from coming from Ohio, we were skeptical because we know how cheaper motels are in our area are not so great. After we checked-in, the young girl was super friendly and showed us around the motel and showed us the basement where there was a couple couches, tv, microwave, and stovetop. They even had dishes available to use! After showing us around we said our goodbyes to the young, exceptional girl! Our rooms were really nice with plenty of space. By far THE best shower and water pressure I’ve had and ANY motel/hotel. There was just a lot of water that came out from the shower head so that’s nice compared to just a small little stream from other places. We did notice that they provided extra blankets in our room that looked like they were made of a wool material I’m assuming for those that stay in the colder months. The tv had plenty of channels so we could relax at night time. The next morning when we woke up, we went to get some muffins and coffee from the office. The muffins were good, nothing spectacular, but the coffee is also the best motel/hotel coffee we have ever had. They actually had 3 different roasts to choose from and the coffee was just flavorful. So it was a great start to our day. In conclusion, my wife and I had a great stay here, and would totally come back. We felt more at home here because the staff treated us like we were real people. I wanted to wait to write this review because it was the first out of 3 places we stayed. We went to Portland next where we stayed at the clarion inn hotel airport, which the front desk lady I swear to god was a god damn robot and the hotel was just.....okay. Nothing great. We then traveled to bar harbor and stayed at the Robbins motel where I am currently writing this review. And please, only stay at Robbins motel if your literally just needing a bed to sleep in. It’s a little sketchy, it’s like staying in a trailer park home. The home freakin room is slanted forward. Sorry to get off track but our stay at the Spillover Motel was great, awesome, and fantastic!…
This place is really and excellent value for the price. It was the best deal I found in all of inland Maine, Room was very clean, everything worked well, coffee in the AM is real gourmet coffee, staff was nice. And this is a really pretty rustic part of Maine. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Clean and pretty comfortable, fine for a one night pit-stop. Extremely high humidity, no fault of the motel of course, meant that the room was pretty musty smelling, AC unit helped. The continental breakfast was good for a quick grab and go. High point is definitely the surrounding countryside. Price was perhaps a little high for what you get, generally, but was not out of line with other options in the area.
We have found it difficult to find a nice motel while traveling through Maine but discovered this nice surprise on Highway 27 less than an hour from the Maine-Quebec border. It was nothing really fancy, but very clean with comfortable beds with nice large rooms and all the amenities. It also included breakfast, a do-it-yourself affair with lots of choices. We would definitely want to stay here again!
