We did a quick stopover on Deer Isle on the recommendation of a friend during our Canada/Maine road trip and found this little place in off-the-charts charming Stonington, online, before we left. Glad we booked because it was sold out mid-week, even in late September. Owner/manager Barrett was nice as can be, and super responsive to any and all communications... More

While the accomodation is a tad small, the beds were firm, but OK and it was very clean. The owner was very friendly and provided lists of local restaurants including a discount at one. The location is right along the waterfront and there is a place to sit and view the harbor that Boyce's owns. A good value in a... More

I can't say anything bad about Boyce's Motel - not that I would want to. The whole place has a slightly rickety eclectic feel that made me comfortable, unstressed and at home. I stayed in number 10 which is a sort of gazebo with a lovely view of the sea.The owner and staff were perfectly charming and helpful. If you... More

We loved this place it's right out of the 50's/60's, a time warp, an authentic piece of Americana. A wonderful value for a vacationing family. The 9 hole golf course, The Island Country Club, nearby was pristine.

Stonington, Maine and Boyce's Motel were my favorite places on our trip to Maine and Boston. I love the quaint fishing village of Stonington. My kids went swimming for hours at the beach down the road from the motel. We had delicious blueberry ice cream in town. Boyce's Motel is such a neat place. The flowers are beautiful near each... Perfect location, charming, spotless, and a friendly helpful owner. The little deck across the street is perfect for the view and coffee from Coffee 44 just down the street. Loved my visit and hope to return. Lots of things to do in the town and nearby.

Upon arrival we were met with a friendly smile and a helpful attitude. This was the start of a great stay. We stayed in a small studio apartment on the second floor. The room was very clean and even though there was no a/c the room was kept cool with a nice breeze assisted by the window fan. I am... More

We stayed at Boyce's to attend a nearby wedding, and wow we loved it! Boyce's is a simple, classic small-town motel in a story-book setting. Our room was very comfy, clean, pleasantly furnished, airy, sunny (or not, as needed!) and had everything one would need, including wi-fi. We loved the waterfront across the street, and manager Barrett was smart, efficient,... More

Boyce's was one of the best places we have stayed in. The room was extremely clean and well laid out. From kitchen to bedroom to bath, along with deck, it was prefect. Unpretentious and quintessential American motel if waas a joy staying here. Barrett was the best of owners, always attentive to our needs and going above and beyond.

My husband and I stayed at Boyce's Motel Father's Day weekend. What a wonderful experience! Our room was so clean, cozy, and comfortable. The location is perfect-- easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. The dock out overlooking the harbor is just right for reading, enjoying a glass of wine, or watching the lobster boats unload their catch! Barrett(the innkeeper)... More

Boyce's Motel is located in the heart of the quaint fishing village of Stonington. From our harbor side dock you can watch the lobstermen head out to sea early in the morning before the sun comes up to haul their lobster traps and then enjoy the afternoon soaking in the sun while watching the lobstermen return with their days catch. Stonington is the largest lobster port on the coast of Maine. Our beautiful island offers guests a great place to unwind and relax. There are day trips to Isle au Haut which is part of Acadia National Park, numerous hiking trails are scattered around the island, as are many beaches for beach combing.
