The Kingsleigh Inn is a superb B&B. The building (we stayed in the Tower Suite) and its amenities are top notch and conveniently located. Bryan and Pam are most genial hosts, owners and operators of the B&B. Bryan's breakfasts are great, including his "morning mystery juices." Afternoon happy hour and treats are very welcoming. We hope to stay there again while on our next Coast of Maine excursion!

This quaint inn is in less crowded Southwest Harbor. There is a major emphasis on hospitality. Breakfast has both a sweet or savory option, a daily juice, and is three courses, including dessert! It was delicious. We went in later July/early August and enjoyed the balcony and the porch very much (where we ate breakfast). The rooms (or at least the room we stayed in) was snug with a small bathroom, but cozy, with a large balcony. I don't want to give away the secrets of the inn - but there were constant treats, an all day coffee/tea bar, and late afternoon wine. The hosts made it a dreamy experience. I wanted to cross Acadia off my bucket list, but this inn was so great, we will have to come back!

Beautiful inn right in Southwest Harbor on Mt Desert Island. Breakfast was an event that always with a sweet little morning dessert. Our room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable with linens I’d expect at a high quality hotel. 5 pm complementary wine and hors d’oeuvres. The hosts were always available and accommodating. When we return to the Bar Harbor area, we’ll stay here again!

We highly recommend a stay at the Kingsleigh Inn B&B if you are visiting Acadia National Park or the Southwest Harbor area. Located downtown, guests can walk to wonderful restaurants and little shops. The 4-course breakfasts are delightful and delicious, prepared with fresh ingredients and herbs from their garden. Happy hour with wine and hors d'oeuvres, homemade cookies or granola bars by the ever-available coffee bar (with great coffee!) and in-room port wine, make this a particularly good choice for "foodies." Our room was comfortably and attractively appointed, and we had a private balcony with a view of the boats in the harbor. Books, games, "loaner" hiking sticks, and lots of information for tourists were available, with the host and hostess providing suggestions for eateries and activities. We would love to go back to the Kingsleigh again!

We just returned from a wonderful three night stay in the Turret Suite! It was a beautiful inn, filled with so many comforts and special treats! The view of the harbor from the spacious suite was terrific, and Bryan and Pamela were fantastic hosts! Highly recommend their bed and breakfast!

We stayed in Kingsleigh Inn B&B for 8 days at the end of July and August. Others have commented accurately on the well-kept rooms, the delicious and filling 3-course breakfasts, and the approachable and thoughtful innkeepers, Bryan and Pamela. We want to comment on the location of the B&B. It provided us with a great home base for exploring Mount Desert Island (MDI). Southwest Harbor is a sweet little town and in non-COVID times, offers a surprising number of dining options for its size. This summer, restaurant options were limited by staffing, with some places only open 2-4 days per week. Nonetheless, we had fine meals at Red Sky, XYZ, and Little Fern. The B&B is also near some excellent hikes, including St. Sauveur Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Ship Harbor - all located on the quiet side. Bryan gave us some good tips for getting the most out of these hikes. Lastly, there were strategies for visiting the eastern half of MDI (the non-quiet side) even though it was overrun with tourists this summer. Get out early and park in the Sand Beach parking lot by 730 - this will allow you access to a couple of low key hikes (Ocean Path and Great Head) with a spot on a pretty beach as your reward. Secondly, park in the Hulls Cove Visitors Center and take the free Island Explorer Shuttle Bus to Bar Harbor. The bus comes every 15 min and is only 10-12 ride to the Village Green. Parking in Bar Harbor is no fun. As we walked around the town, we were occasionally followed by cars with drivers pleadingly asking us, “are you leaving?” When we responded to one driver that we had no car, he responded, “do you want ours?”

This was our second visit to the Kingsleigh Inn and will keep going back for years to come. The first visit was in 2016 for our honeymoon. The Inn is so quaint, peaceful and welcoming. The proprietors, Pamela and Bryan, are so sweet and very accommodating. They have taken the pandemic very seriously and we felt very comfortable with their precautions in place. We enjoyed every breakfast, happy hour, all day coffee/treats and being able to use any space indoors or outdoors. We stayed in the Victoria room. It was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. The king size bed was a dream! The room had the most comfortable robe I've ever had on. They AC was cool and the showers were hot! A parking lot is available on the grounds. There are many shops, restaurants and things to do in walking distance. We can't wait to go back again. It seriously felt so comforting walking into the Kingsleigh Inn. It has a special place in our hearts.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Kingsleigh Inn in Southwest Harbor for four nights. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting the innkeepers Brian and Pamela. With many years of experience, they have truly mastered the art of running a bed and breakfast, including preparing memorable breakfasts and snacks with an amazing attention to detail, keeping this period home in excellent condition and interacting with their guests in a friendly, but, non intrusive manner. Both Brian and Pamela were very generous with their time, sharing their insights into Acadia National Park and all that Mount Desert Island has to offer. The breakfasts - consisting of three courses, which are expertly prepared and exquisitely presented - are some of the best that you will find at any bed and breakfast. The exterior of the home may not be very grand, but, the interior has been authentically restored and maintained. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor porch where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The rooms are nicely decorated with period furnishings and are well maintained. Our bathroom was a little small; but, it was fitted with plenty of storage space so that we never felt cramped. I highly recommend staying in Southwest Harbor - it is an excellent base for exploring all of Acadia National Park and especially some of the trails on the quieter side of the island. And, the Kingsleigh Inn is the perfect choice for staying in Southwest Harbor as it is situated downtown within walking distance of its harbor, shops and many fine restaurants.

Kingsleigh Inn is the most wonderful B&B! If you'd like a great, convenient location on Mt. Desert Island, with gracious, fun hosts, this is that inn. A short drive to Bar Harbor, with easy access to the other charming towns on the island, makes Kingsleigh Inn the perfect home base. The inn has been lovingly restored and features beautifully decorated rooms. Comfortable beds and lovely views are to be had. My room was spotless, with port wine, fresh flowers, and chocolates , also luxurious robes and slippers. In the heart of Southwest Harbor (on the "quiet side" of MDI), Kingsleigh Inn is within easy walking distance to several excellent restaurants. Nearby lobster pounds are the best on the island. Pamela is a gourmet cook, and each three-course breakfast was more memorable than the last. Bryan was a lot of fun (loved the Mystery Juice!), and both Pamela and Bryan were eager to share their wealth of information about what to see and do on the island. I would most definitely stay again!!
