Bar Harbor, Maine1 contribution
We stayed in the Sarah Ashley suite on the third floor for three nights. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Marc & Holli (as well as their dog Bernie) were great hosts. The breakfast was amazing, as well as the rotation of fresh-baked cookies that are offered daily in the first floor. Marc and Holli have extensive knowledge of the area and make themselves available to help with activity planning or general conversation. This was our first time staying at a B&B and Clark Pointe Inn did not disappoint. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance of the Inn. Additionally hiking trails are located all over the island, but its about a 25 minute drive to Sand Beach in Acadia. The trails on the south side of the island have a much different feel than the trails on the north side, so make sure to check out both. Having come to Maine without doing much research, I was very happy to have stayed at the Clark Pointe Inn on the quiter side of the island as opposed to somewhere in Bar Harbor.

Loved Southwest Harbor on the 'quieter' side of the island. Had a great stay, only made better by our lovely room, hosts and breakfast at the Clark Point Inn. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

We spent 4 nights here for uor 40th anniversary. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Holly, met Mark (awesome breakfast chef) and his dog Bernie. Bernie made us feel right at home! The Inn is beautfully furnished, very clean and welcoming. Coffee, tea and cocoa were always available, as well as yummy homemade cookies (a different kind every day). We chose this Inn because of the quiet location and the advertised breakfast menu....and we were not disappointed. Having owned a bed and breakfast and stayed extensively in them for many years, I must say that Mark prepared the best breakfasts ever. When we arrived, Mark made sure we had no food allergies or anything we just did not like. The breakfast menu was posted on a chalkboard in the guest living room daily. Each morning we had some type of fruit dish (sliced fresh oranges with homemade caramel sauce, fresh baked blueberry muffins, sliced bananas and kiwis with toasted coconut, and granola/blueberry yogurt parfaits with perfectly ripened rasberries, strawberries and blueberries. Our main courses were huevos rancheros (the best I've ever had...and I live in Miami!), french toast (with real maple syrup) with candied bacon topped with pecans, ham and cheese croissant with baby greens, sun ripened roma tomatoes with a delicious mustard/mayonaise. Our final morning we had to leave an hour prior to breakfast being served. Mark went out of his way to make us another fantastic breakfast...grilled sesame seed coated asparagus with perfectly fried eggs sprinkled with pancetta and herbs. The harbor was across the street and we met quite a few local fishermen as they went out each morning for either halibut or lobsters. The Inn is in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from different entrances to Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor is 15 minutes away. We had a wonderful stay at Clark Point Inn and I would highly recommend it if you want to have access to, but be away from, the "touristy" areas.

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Clark Point Inn! As you know, Bernie is a rescue pup we adopted 2 years ago and he has been quite popular with guests. All he asks for is a pet on the head and maybe a belly rub from time to time. He loves visiting with guests! It's always a pleasure to meet fellow innkeepers! We agree that our location is ideal - close to the busyness if one desires it, but just enough away so it's peaceful and easy going - still with plenty of activity and dining options! We look forward to welcoming you back and we will be sure to have plenty of candied bacon and cookies waiting for you!

Mark and his dog Bernie we’re great hosts! My fiancé and I had wonderful, relaxing weekend staying at the Inn. The rooms were clean, comfortable and we felt right at home. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. We would recommend to anyone visiting the Acadia area. It’s about 20 min to the base of Cadillac mountain. It’s very close, half a mile, or less to Southwest Harbor town which has some great restaurants and a cute Market. We look forward to going back!

We booked the Sarah Ashley room because of the advertised amenities of a harbor view, fresh flowers in the room and chocolates and port wine in the room each day. The inn is located across the street from the harbor and the view is blocked by the buildings. There was no fresh flowers, chocolates or port wine in the room during our stay. Nor were there an "afternoon interlude" of cheese and crackers, fresh fruit or anything at all. In the evening a tray of cookies was out .Coffee no cream or milk. When we arrived at 4:00 pm check in time, we were not greeted by anyone. An envelope with our name on it was taped to the sliding glass door with instructions how to get into our room. We were very disappointed. would not stay here again.
