Very nice people to work with. Sites were closer together than we like, but a nice quiet park overall. We changed sites after 2 weeks because the incoming neighbors were soo close to us. Thankful we were given a better site.
This was a quiet campground with FANTASTIC walking/biking trails nearby. Also, there were beaches within 20-30 minute drive. The bathrooms were very clean. There is not much to say since the campground doesn't offer any activities or have a main hub. It was good for a 2 night stay after being in Bar Harbor and traveling south.
We will return to this amazing camping. Very quiet, very friendly. Site 24 is the best (perfect size for oir small AStream). View on the marsh .. we absolutely love it. Use my bike to the beach.. gorgeous beach (5-6 km)
Had a great stay. small quiet clean campground, roomy enough sites, with full hookups. Reasonably priced. Very accommodating, while I was supposed to be booked into a 30 amp site my site was a 50 amp, I had only a 30 amp cord they lent me an adapter no charge no deposit. that's a thumbs up right there. very quiet campground probably because its a 21 yr old and over campsite : ) lots to see and do in the area, old orchard beach, Cape Elizabeth, bug light etc. will be returning.
We didn't feel the site was accurately represented based on the website. The website shows younger couples in a serene type of atmosphere. That was not our experience. We saw a much older clientele that seemed to have their stake in the ground in their seasonal sites. Also, this is a park that is very tight and has small and close sites. If you have a larger/longer rig, you'll need to take it slow. The driveway is in rough shape too with a couple very deep speed bumps. No amenities or dog walking areas. Sites are clean but the type of shed from the trees is bad for vehicles for pets and vehicles - sap and burs! Management is very friendly! This is about our 20th park and unfortunately, our least favorite. We will not return.
The campground host met us and made sure our site was ready because we had taken a site that someone had left a day early after a long stay. Excellent walking area. There is a wild life preserve path just outside the campground. The number and variety of birds was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable campground.
The campground was exactly as described, quiet and peaceful. Our pull through site was freshly raked and clean and had plenty of space for our 30’ trailer. The camp is situated at the end of a street backing on to the marsh so bird watching opportunities are close by.
We booked 3 nights there starting on June 30th. Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night and lost the other 2 nights cause on July 1st, there was a guy alone near us in the rustic tent camping, that around 8-9 PM started sharpening a knife..bat the beginning we thought this was ok.. but in the middle of the night at 2h30 AM We heard a noise and it was the guy who started sharpening his knife again.. we were really anxious, until we saw the guy going with his knife to a neighbor's tent to look around while the people were sleeping. That was extremely scary, we were soo scared and the guy saw us looking at him and at that moment we jumped on our car and left the campground.. we found a hotel and stayed the rest of the night there.. we called the campground to explain the situation, and they called us back saying that he was a nice guy and we shouldn't have to worry about. I'm sorry, but a nice guy wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night to sharpening a knife and go around a neighbor's tent.. that for us wasn't normal at all, we were feeling unsafe... I was really disappointed with the answer I got from the campground's receptionist. I will never go back again..…
Depending on your site the views are spectacular and peaceful. But most sites are not privy and can be rather small. The adult only concept allows those seeking a calmness amongst a beautiful backdrop. The staff works diligently, are friendly and helpful. They deserve management compensation in addition to a camp site. Improvements and updates are seriously needed. The road around is in dire need of attention. Also the speed deterrents are a concrete severe indentation which is horrible on your car, rigs and back. Those need to be immediately replaced possibly with rubber spread bumps. The bathroom can use updating and the laundry facilities are older and some out of use. Therefore, the rating is a one in some instances and a 5 if you are are fortunate enough to get one of the premium spots. Time for the owner to take a look and spend some time addressing issues.…
We stayed here for the month of May in our 22 foot travel trailer. This campground is quiet, tranquil, clean, friendly, and exceptionally well run and managed by the staff and owners. Much gratitude to Rich and Kathy, our camp hosts, who were unfailingly warm and above and beyond helpful. Juvi, the owner, was also terrific. Even though you are immersed in nature and removed from the hustle and bustle, the location is minutes away from all the amenities of civilization: restaurants, groceries, shopping, Old Orchard Beach, tourist attractions, and the city of Portland. Opportunities for hiking, biking, and kayaking are at your doorstep. The campsites that overlook the Scarborough marsh are extraordinarily beautiful. We could have happily spent all day every day watching the snowy egrets, heron, wild ducks, and ibises hunting on the marsh as the afternoon turned into golden evening. On warm nights we even saw fireflies dancing in the darkness. This is a truly magical place. We will definitely be back.…
