My husband and I camped in the tent area and enjoyed the quiet, the marsh and the birds. It is a simple campground, clean and well cared for, safe. The hosts were friendly and everything was clean. The shower house was a little chilly on cold mornings, as there is no heat, but we enjoyed everything overall and hope to be back.
We made reservations to stay for 1 week at the campground. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the reservation with over 2 weeks notice due to my mother passing away. I know for a fact that our assigned rv site was rented out for the entire week we had to cancel, yet they refused to refund the deposit or apply it to the 2020 season. Beware that no matter the reason, even death, and even if they rent the site, you are out the money.
My husband, father, best friend, and I stayed at Wild Duck for the last tent camping of the season (Oct. 4-6)! The sites were spacious, neat, and wooded, while the bathrooms were some of the cleanest I have seen. The showers were hot with good pressure, very helpful after a few cold nights in the tent! It seems like a great community with the seasonal crowd and I enjoyed speaking with the various other campers and staff.
We have been camping in the US and Canada for over 30 years, probably 100 different campgrounds, and have never seen a campground so clean and neat and well-managed. This campground exceeds expectations even beyond pristine state campgrounds. Yes, the sites are small and close together, but they are comfortable enough, and some are quite beautiful along the estuary. Lots of nice touches around the campground such as flower arrangements everywhere; clean and neat old-fashioned metal trash cans strategically-placed; bathrooms cleaned and bleached every day; and a guest iron and ironing board, how about that? The host was sweet and accommodating, the caretakers so very proud of their work (you touch it, we clean it,they said). We had given up on private campgrounds many years ago, but took a chance here because of the location and the 'adult' designation. We are so glad we did! Clearly this campground is a labor of love for both the owners and the caretakers. We had such a pleasant experience and we left with such a warm feeling that we will can't wait to go back.…
The campground is very clean, and very quiet as advertised, 21 or older to stay there. I would have given it 5 stars but the sites themselves are very small, you are pretty close to your neighbors, if there was more room in between I would have given 5 stars.
