We stayed here for two nights while in the New Harbor area for the Hardy Boat Puffin Tour. Shari has done a spectacular job renovating this house. You honestly feel like you are staying in a home that would be open for historical tours. It is beautiful! We stayed in the Bowie room and it was very spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room for the two of us and all our luggage. Shari is so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed talking with her and she had wonderful suggestions for things to do and places to dine. We really appreciated her accommodating our food sensitivities, as well. Her almond milk pancakes were so good! And I must mention the neighborhood. It is convenient to New Harbor and to Pemaquid Point. Plus, there is a fun little general store that sells whoopie pies and a very good restaurant just down the road. We would not hesitate to recommend The Chamberlain House to anyone and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We have been fortunate to stay at The Chamberlain House on two occasions recently while house hunting. The building is the result of a relatively recent renovation that was done with careful attention to detail. Enjoy a period home with modern conveniences! And breakfasts are delicious...be sure to ask for the oatmeal pancakes! Shari and her husband are wonderful innkeepers and as born and bred locals are thoroughly knowledgeable about the area.

On a recent trip to check on our seasonal cottage, closed for the winter, we stayed the night at The Chamberlain House, a property we’d driven past many times during the summer, always wondering about it, but never needing an overnight accommodation. What a delight it was to stay there at last! Our hosts, Shari and Paul, made us feel right at home even though our own cottage was but three miles away. The B&B has been tastefully and lovingly remodeled, each room beautifully appointed with extremely comfortable beds, spotless new bathrooms, and all conveniences including first-class wi fi. Breakfast is a stand-out on a peninsula known for some excellent breakfast places, believe me. We could not have asked for anything more to make us feel at home unless we’d helped with the dishes. The Chamberlain House is now a “Must Stay” property as we recommend accommodations to friends and visitors. It will certainly be our place to stay in winters to come. Soon it will also be a most desirable event center.

Staying at the Chamberlain house was the hidden treasure of our recent coastal Maine trip. Not only were the location and accommodations more than fitting for my wife along with our 4y/o son and mom, the charm of how the house was renovated and decorated never ceased to impress. Shari was a wonderful, inviting host and quite an amazing cook – even our more fickle eaters cleaned their plates every time. I couldn’t help bug her for tips about the two delicious breakfasts she served our family. The house was spotless and every last detail attended to with total care. At the Chamberlain house, cleanliness and comfort will never be anyone’s concern. Both rooms we occupied were very comfortable with cozy beds and beautiful, charming décor. The showers had better water pressure than most hotels, too! Shari’s story of acquiring and renovating the house will please any H&G fan or history buff. It is apparent she truly loves what she does, and she does what she loves so darn well! We would absolutely recommend a stay at the Chamberlain House to anyone considering a travel through this area of coastal Maine without hesitation. And if you haven’t been there yet…what are you waiting for??
