We recently spent a wonderful five night stay at the Chamberlain House in Round Pond, Maine. We were in the area for an excursion to see Atlantic Puffins, and for other birding activities, and Round Pond made a very convenient home base. The inn is a beautifully restored historical home in a peaceful setting, with lovely grounds, an airy deck, and charming public rooms. Owners Shari and Paul are very gracious and accommodating hosts, and go out of their way to take excellent care of their guests. Shari is also a fabulous chef, serving delicious, healthy, and bountiful gourmet breakfasts, featuring fresh eggs from the delightful resident hens. Cat lovers (who may be missing their kitty back home) will also enjoy their friendly cat, Dory. We highly recommend the Chamberlain House!

We recently stayed three nights at Chamberlain House and it was wonderful. A large and spotless room with cool sea breezes coming through the windows and gorgeous garden views. Owners and hosts Shari and Paul have renovated this c. 1775 house beautifully … painted, wide-plank floors, a thick and richly colored oriental rug, a supremely comfortable king size bed, deluxe bedding and a charming cottage style Victorian dresser, plus a comfy club chair. The public rooms are also furnished with a mix of modern and comfortable upholstered pieces and antique furniture including a grand piano. Bouquets from their gardens throughout. A gorgeous country kitchen where delicious breakfasts are baked and prepared, We could have stayed forever!

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay. It is a beautiful restored inn and property. Shari was wonderful host. Easy ride to New harbor to catch the ferry to Monhegan. It is a peaceful property. Round Pond is a “back-in-time” Maine. Will be back! M&E

Just an outstanding and slightly off the beaten path B & B. A grand farm house. Great (great) hosts. Short walk to Round Pond. Close by art stores and lobster pounds. Incredible breakfast of Frittata, sausage and fresh blueberry muffins. Room was great and had an incredible shower. Everything clean, clean, clean. Everything about this place expresses the happiness and pride of the owner couple. Highly recommended. Maine at its very best.

The Chamberlain house is simply beautiful with talented, friendly and thoughtful hosts!! It is a wonderful farmhouse from the late 1700’s that has been thoughtfully updated and restored by Shari, who has a incredible talent for decorating and hospitality. I walked around the house and garden several times just marveling at the beautiful restoration of this lovely home. There are several airy comfortable public spaces to relax, both inside the bright and airy rooms and out in the gorgeous gardens full of exceptional flowers. There were even the prettiest little chickens to entertain. The décor is also designed to be relaxing…light, airy, simple yet with a understated Maine coastal elegance about it. There is a mix of antique and modern furnishings to give you the sense of the history here yet with the simplicity, comfort and clean lines that create an inviting and serene atmosphere. Our bedroom was superbly comfortable, open and airy, sparkling clean, well thought out, and simply decorated with a gorgeous, spacious, modern bathroom Every need was anticipated and met. Breakfast was delightful, delicious and filling in a welcoming dining room overlooking the picture perfect back garden. The friendly conversation at the table with Shari and the other guests was like talking with old friends. Shari was such a genuine, warm and thoughtful host who helped us plan not only our day but even the rest of our trip! She has a eye to detail for every aspect of our stay. I cannot recommend The Chamberlain House enough, it was one of the best B and B's I have visited and we look forward to coming here again someday!! 10 stars!

We spent the last week of July at The Chamberlain House in Round Pond Maine. It was absolutely wonderful! Shari and Paul are warm, generous, and welcoming hosts. Dory the cat and eleven cheeky chickens are unexpected joys. Shari has an extraordinary eye and sensibility for creating comfortable and stunningly simple and beautiful spaces, both indoors and out. Every detail was given careful consideration and attention in the renovation and decoration of this 1700s farmhouse as well as in the landscaping. Shari prepares something different -- and mouthwatering -- for breakfast every day. The conversations around the breakfast table were great fun. Round Pond was the perfect place to center our adventures in the nooks and crannies of mid-coast Maine. An unexpected treat: the evening skies are dark and clear; the stars are brilliant. We felt so at home -- and we look forward to a return visit!

Last weekend we had the opportunity to stay at The Chamberlain House. Our stay was great! If you like history at all then this is the perfect place for you to stay. The house is from 1773 but with all the modern amenities you need. The grounds are kept so nicely and with the flowers in bloom it was beautiful! Our room was very cozy, clean and the bed was super comfortable. During our stay we had two delicious breakfasts with some of the best banana bread ever, that Shari made fresh in the morning, meaning the house smelled amazing all day! Shari, her husband and her niece that was helping were all so pleasant, helpful and very accommodating! They even helped find us a garage to come out and change our flat tire, in time to keep an upcoming appointment! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed!

Myself and my Fiancé stayed at Shari's beautiful Farmhouse over the Columbus Day weekend this year. We can't say enough about how welcoming Shari was and how beautiful her farmhouse is. From the delicious breakfasts each morning, to the tips and tricks of home renovation she shared with us. We will Definitely be returning and are looking forward to more stories of renovation and to see that beautiful barn rebuilt! Thank you again Shari..

We stayed here for two nights while in the New Harbor area for the Hardy Boat Puffin Tour. Shari has done a spectacular job renovating this house. You honestly feel like you are staying in a home that would be open for historical tours. It is beautiful! We stayed in the Bowie room and it was very spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room for the two of us and all our luggage. Shari is so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed talking with her and she had wonderful suggestions for things to do and places to dine. We really appreciated her accommodating our food sensitivities, as well. Her almond milk pancakes were so good! And I must mention the neighborhood. It is convenient to New Harbor and to Pemaquid Point. Plus, there is a fun little general store that sells whoopie pies and a very good restaurant just down the road. We would not hesitate to recommend The Chamberlain House to anyone and would definitely stay here again if in the area.
