My review is not totally negative but I think people should know that this Inn is in need of updating! The pictures online are NOT recent and the room was not anywhere as nice as we expected. We had a harbor view but with that view we had the noise of the traffic on Main St. The beds and pillows... More

From our harbor view room to the scrumptious breakfasts to the delightful soundtrack of (mostly) classical music to a comfortable mix of antique and contemporary furnishings, there are many superlatives one can attribute to the Old Granite Inn in Rockland. But the best part about the Inn - and the one we will remember the most - is the friendliness... More

My husband and I have been staying at the Old Granite Inn for Lobster Festival for the past five years, and each stay surpasses the last. From the picturesque harbor views from the Inn’s porch, the immaculate and cozy suites, to the friendliest Innkeepers we have ever met. Our experiences at Old Granite Inn have been nothing but delightful. Ed... More

We stayed 3 nights here and just loved it! Fabulous breakfast and attentive staff. Simple but comfortable and homey rooms with a large bathroom. Nice view of the harbor and ferry. Located on Main street, so it's an easy walk to downtown Rockland.

I really do not like leaving a negative review, but our stay was so poor, others need to know what a stay at the Old Granite Inn is like. Upon arrival we rang the "innkeeper's doorbell" and Ed appeared - unkempt, cantankerous and without a simple "hello". He then proceeded to charge my card (every other single place I have... More

It's hard to know where to begin. We regret that this couple did not have a good experience at the Granite Inn, but their reaction is clearly not typical of our guests. It sounds like we got off to a bad start and it only got worse. First off, if they had to ring the doorbell, they checked in outside... More

The owner was wonderful and very welcome and a great cook. Had fun meeting other guests in the dining room. Loved the original walls of the original building. Great selection of books and magazines to read and the rooms were spacious.

The inn is very cozy and Ed and Joan are wonderful innkeepers. The breakfast menu alone is worth the stay! Ed and Joan are both artists and it seems the pour their creativity into the design and making of the daily breakfasts. The demeanor of the B&B is very calm and casual. Visiting the Inn is worth a trip to... More

This inn is just out of the busy part of town but you can walk to everything. The inn is very clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast is delicious! The inn owner Ed is the breakfast chef and he is good. The inn is very quiet at night and very safe. Right across the street from the harbor and... More

Realizing it was an historical inn, I still felt it had a musty and worn feeling. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast food was outstanding. The room itself was big enough, but the fireplace didn't work and the windows were a chore to open and close. The location was good overlooking the harbor. I hesitate to be really negative,... More

Wonderful because it is a smaller, comfortable and quiet homey atmosphere. Close to shopping and family nearby. Water and boats just across the street. The hosts were very accommodating. Delicious breakfast provided along with the most delicious cookies (Chocolate chip/oatmeal).
