I stayed here with friends in Suite A. It’s a pair of rooms, each having two twin beds, that share a bathroom in a small hallway within the suite. There were chairs in the rooms to use while visiting. The unique set up worked perfectly for us. There’s also an additional bathroom off the hallway (outside the suite) that we were able to use.

The common rooms were decorated stylishly and comfortably. There are also unique plants on display as well as some lovely artwork.

Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. It included an asparagus frittata, stuffed French toast, fresh fruit, crab fritters, quiche Lorraine, and blueberry maple muffins. As soon as I asked Ed about the ingredients, he asked what I couldn’t eat. When I told him milk products, he offered to make me a variety of items to supplement what I could eat from the buffet. I asked for scrambled eggs which were excellent, as was everything else that I and my friends had.

I would definitely stay here again!

We choose to spend a couple of nights here on a recent trip to Maine. It is more of a homey bed and breakfast than an inn but this was not an issue for us. We stayed in a queen room on the second floor of the original house. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. A light sleeper might want a room towards the back of the house since the inn sits on highway 1 and there is some road noise early in the morning. There is coffee and snacks available in the evening and they provided ice when we requested it. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. The owners were very helpful in providing information on places to visit and the location is great for sightseeing both north and south of Rockland.

My friend and I stayed for one night while passing through Rockland and really enjoyed our short time there! The old building is charming, with a lovely front reception/sitting room. We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms which was pretty basic/no frills but got to peek in some of the other unoccupied rooms which looked very cozy. Breakfast was fantastic (including the coffee)! The owners were very pleasant and the location can't be beat - right at the end of Main Street overlooking the water so all the main attractions are walkable! Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I returned today from a 1 night stay at the granite inn. From the moment we stepped in the door to when we checked out we experienced superior hospitality and comfort. Our room was warm and very comfortable with upscale finishes. the inn keeper was very gracious and cooked us a delicious (complimentary!!) breakfast the following morning. The inn is centrally located within walking distance to everything downtown Rockland has to offer. We will certainly be staying there again. If you are looking for a place to study in Rockland this is the place!!

Overall we had a nice two night stay at the Old Granite Inn. The hosts were great, the breakfast was very good with fresh fruit and ample portions. The location is excellent. An easy walk into Rockland for dinner, short drives to Camden,Camden Hills State Park and Mt. Battie, Rockport cove and peninsula, Rockland breakwater and Owl's Head Lighthouse. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. I seem to recall we stayed in Room #6, second floor in the front on the left side as you look out to the ferry landing and Lermond Cove. It was slightly noisy in the morning as the cars lined up for the ferry but it didn't bother us. The light through the windows and the view more than made up for it. We would gladly stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Granite Inn in Rockland. The location is ideal for exploring Main Street and to see the busy Rockland Harbor. It is also a perfect landing spot for anyone who is taking the ferry . Our hosts were extremely welcoming and served up the most delicious homemade breakfast we have ever encountered at an inn! Delicious! From the homemade pancakes to the fresh fruit and fresh baked muffins we and scones, these innkeepers were over the top! I highly recommend the Granite Inn. I know we will be returning soon.

We had booked two nights in the Granite Inn but left after the first night. The room we were in was advertised as having an updated bathroom which was not accurate. There was a bathtub that had previously had a glass sliding door. The door was removed but not the fittings. Very jury-rigged. It smelled off like the shower curtain hadn’t been washed recently. The location is good except that as trucks rumble by, the entire building shakes. The breakfast was good. Someone put their website together for them and did a great job of it. Unfortunately, it misrepresented what the inn is. We were on the second floor but their is no elevator and no offer of help. This inn needs some serious updating.

My husband and two teenagers rented the two rooms at the front of the home and they were lovely! Very quaint! There is ample parking and we were within walking distance to all the little shops in downtown Rockland. Breakfast is served each morning by the owner and it was delicious! Not your average fare -- unique and healthy choices, all prepared beautifully. We will definitely stay there again if we visit Rockland in the future.

Can’t rave more about the breakfast. Had cornmeal pancakes & a frittata both which were superb. Charming little hotel that feels like home. Only critique is that wifi was a bit spotty in rooms 1/2 but at least there was cable! Would definitely stay here again.

This place was probably very nice at one time. To start, the front walkway & porch needed a good sweeping & cleaning. The plants in the front are overgrown and growing into the walkway & porch. There's no AC in the common areas & it was quite musty during the heat wave. There was a stack of old papers, etc. in the main room. Everything looked like it needed updating & deep cleaning. The room thankfully had a small window AC unit that chugged away all night. The room needed a good deep cleaning. The rug was either not vacuumed or stained or both. One of the pillowcases had a good sized hole in it. Not what I consider luxury linens. We had many mosquitoes and other bugs in the room too that night. The windows are old & really need replacing. On the positive side the bed was comfortable & the bathroom was large & appeared to be clean. The best part was the homemade breakfast including their signature cornmeal pancakes with warm maple syrup.

The suites on the first floor are off the hall way very near the breakfast area. very convenient and the hospitality is over the top. I am a foodie and there were local cookbooks to read while you are lounging!!!
