Nice staff but amenities are to minimal for this size of hotel. Only one laundry machine and ice machine located at the vet far end of the building. The pool and hot tub was clean and warm, but very small. Hot tub only sat 5 and that would have been tight. Lots of steps and stairs.
· Location is a priority for me so I can come to Rockland the night before and get the early ferry to North Haven. The continental breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, coffee and juice with waiter service was a AWESOME. I was expecting the usual yogurt etc that you get yourself. It's pet friendly and there was a yippy dog on our floor. I spoke to the front desk who took care of the problem and when we returned from dinner the floor was quite until we checked out.
If you want to stay in Maine, this is a nice place. Right on the water and a couple of blocks from the ferry to the islands, Like it that it is not right in a big city. Bummer the restaurant on location had closed due to lack of staff. There was a nice restaurant directly across the street though. Room was comfortable but not as large as other RCI resorts we have stayed. Was nice & quiet.
this place ticked me off. firstly. when i checked in i explained i'm a handicapped. man and need a special shower seat. the two girls laughed at me ok. whatever. and they didn't give me a handicap room. wtf?? the room itself was two twin beds that were so small and uncomfortable. the AC didn't work. very uncomfortable. i know the place was 75% empty this was the best they could give us?? Again, the AC was busted. it was 45 degrees outside but somehow the room stayed sweltering. I couldn't sleep. meanwhile there were series drug addict people in the parking lot at one point a rogue unleashed pitbull appeared out of nowhere to me when i went to the car. screw this place
We reserved an exchange through RCI for a two BR suite. It was a one BR suite and a separate room next door with a very mini kitchen and tiny bathroom. The smaller room had a tiny window half the size of normal facing the back parking lot of a bank. No view. The suite part with larger kitchen was modern with an old metal table and chairs you now a days call retro, tiny living room and bath room, balcony to the rooftop deck facing the bay. Not the greatest view. I’ve done other exchanges in Florida, Mrytle Beach and Vegas where the accommodations were much higher end places to stay. It was a much older property in need of much work. It was however clean and quiet. End of the season so not many restaurants open and not much to do. Probably won’t go back anytime soon. Also the front desk was not very friendly. No welcome or how was everything during your stay.…
Very old property, but our room was an adequate size, and although just considered a hotel room, it did have a full size, although small, refrigerator, a sink and a microwave, as well as dishes, utensils, etc. We had a unit with a small balcony that overlooked the ocean, which was nice. Some of the furniture was very outdated, the tv position was way too high for viewing comfort, and quite small.
Happy to have stayed at Trade Winds Inn. Great view from the room, could walk downtown and down the boardwalk. Friendly and helpful staff. Very relaxing vacation. We would definitely choose them again. Awesome 👍
Great central location for trips to Acadia NP, Portland, and other nearby cute towns, including Rockland. But our unit had a warped floor from a previous water leak, a musty smell, and we had to use a portable heater because the baseboard heat was not working. We had a unit with kitchen, which was well stocked. The only bedroom had two full size beds, which was not ideal, since it was my wife and I. The electronic fireplace was nice.
We were thrilled with the location by the water and nearby restaurants It wasn’t far from the national park. The leaves were beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was nice to be back in New England where we are from originally, Massachusetts, but we drove up from Tampa, FL our present home since 1979.
We stayed for a week in late September, and were pleasantly surprised to see the bright, updated halls and hotel. Our room was small but adequate as we were out all day. The 'inner hallway' view was over the top of a building's roof, so not awful. The sun deck was fabulous for sitting, meditating, sketching, reading with a glass of wine. The breakfast in the restaurant was great. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows, great location. We could walk to everything in town.
