The house is beautiful having been completely redecorated over the last couple of years. Everything is top quality and Raleigh, the owner is awesome. She cooks a great breakfast and is a delight and welcoming host. You really can feel at home only with better service! I highly recommend if you need a place in Rockland!

We spent two wonderful nights at The Lindsey Guest House. Raleigh and Eric were great hosts and Raleigh’s breakfast was to die for! The room and house were beautifully appointed. Our stay was delightful and we highly recommend!

Staying at The Lindsey feels like staying with your nicest friend, who also happens to be a great cook! The new owners go above and beyond when it comes to communication, accommodation and recommendations. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into every detail of the inn from the design to the fragrance of the soaps and the glasses in the rooms. We only stayed two nights but I would have loved to stay for a week! The location is perfect too because the main street with all of the shops and restaurants is just down the block. I tried to add more photos but Tripadvisor's platform kept uploading my portrait layout photos upside down. Anyway, the inn is cuter than I can describe or show in photos!

A wonderful experience from start to finish. Innkeeper Raleigh was helpful with dinner suggestions before we arrived. Check-in was smooth. I had chosen Room 5 on the third floor, figuring it would be quiet, which it was. The room was large, with comfortable seating for two as well as a desk area. The bathroom was well-appointed and had all the essentials. The common areas were very welcoming and ample—a dining area, sitting room, library, bar and bathroom comprised the first floor, in addition to the office. We enjoyed a delicious, multi-course breakfast in the garden. Very centrally located in Rockland—we walked everywhere.

Great Room. Raleigh, the manager, was exceptional. Her idea of service goes above and beyond the norm. Her suggestions for things to do in the area were spot on for us. Her professionalism was stellar. Stay here!

My wife and I chose Rockland, Maine as the base location for a four-day, three-night visit to the Maine coast and, based on a prior experience, chose to again select lodging at Lindsey Guesthouse. Raleigh and Eric, the owners/operators, provided attentive service, recommended local sites and attractions as well as restaurants, for our anniversary celebration. The guesthouse rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished, and the daily breakfast menu and service is among the best we’ve experienced anywhere. We’ll not hesitate to return again to this historic landmark centrally located within east walking distance to the renowned Farnsworth Museum, as well as a variety of excellent eateries, markets, shops and vacation- oriented attractions.

Cute BNB right on the waterfront. The owners were Lovely! We enjoyed wine on the back patio after walking on the Main Street of town. Would definitely return! Room #9 was spacious and perfect for three girls on a road trip! We took the suggestion of the owners and walked around town which was lovely with a heavy artisting influence.

The Lindsey is anything but cookie-cutter. A Federal-period manse adorned with costly touches like craftsman wainscoting throughout the first floor and floor-to-ceiling oak paneling in the dining room, this gem makes it easy to imagine oneself as a well-heeled traveler in a bygone era. There is all that the modern counterpart could desire, however, and all this in the heart of the art capital of Maine, just walking distance to restaurants, museums and the waterfront. I would be remiss if I did not mention Carla and Gary, the hostess and host par excellence, who made the stay one without compare. Bravo!

Gary has to be one of the kindest, most genuine and lovely people I've ever encountered! His true enthusiasm for the property (and his blueberry pancakes) made our trip unforgettable. The dreamy bed made for the best sleep I've ever had, after my boyfriend and I enjoyed a bottle of wine at one of the many little restaurants around the corner from the inn. This place is an absolute gem and we'll be staying here again and again. So personalized, adorable and with plenty of stories and memories for the innkeepers to share with you before you even create your own. I'm honestly getting emotional just writing this review because Captain Lindsey is now such a special place for us! Not to even mention the insane value it is with breakfast included. Thank you Gary, for making these Southerners' entire vacation! We will DEF be back (I won't spoil the stories for you all so you can experience them upon arrival....but absolutely stay here. Don't even think about it, just book NOW!)

The Lindsey Hotel was the best hotel we have stayed in on our trip so far around New England. Hosts Carla and Gary were great and nothing was too much trouble giving us excellent restaurant suggestions and local places to visit. The room was very comfortable with a lovely en suite bathroom. The hotel has a very relaxing lounge and other quirky features. The breakfast though was the highlight of our stay which was cooked to order each morning and was delicious. The food was that bit different than your average hotel breakfast which makes it quite unique. We only wished we had planned to stay for a few more days! Perhaps next time...
