Have eaten here twice... 6 years apart! Very nice place to dine! The food is good. I would call or fine dining but i would not want to run off the casual dinner. The setting overlooking the river... great views! The dining room is nearly decorated and the tables are set with fine china. Just stop! If you are in... More

It looks like the Bates Motel from Psycho. However, the owner was more than nice. The rooms are huge and overlook the ocean. I didn't eat here, so can't comment. It's a quaint hotel. They even have the old fashioned keys and make you fill out a registration card. Overall, neat

This family owned and operated motel and restaurant are stuck in a timewarp of the 70's, along with the grime, decor tastelessness and sense of a style beyond artificial (dusty) flowers and and an uncomfortable overload of bleck and chintziest all in one. The food is straight off the Sysco truck, with limited to NO creativity and plated lacklusterly and... More

Redclyffe Shore Motel We were driving north on Hwy 1 heading toward northern Maine and planning to stay in Calais. As we approached this attractive looking motel, we checked it out. Good move. The rate was reasonable, the people friendly, the room large, clean and spacious, and the view beautiful (see pic). On the negative side, they don’t offer a... More

We recently stayed at the Redclyffe after a friend recommended we try the dining room while travelling through. We stayed for one night in the motel and had dinner at the restaurant. The rooms are very basic but clean. No breakfast of any kind is provided, which is a "miss", as it is not close to any other services. It... More

This was our second stay at the Redclyffe shore motel. There are not a lot of good choices in the Calais Maine area, but we think this is the best choice. The motel is dated, but it was clean and reasonably priced. Travelers should not expect anything more than basic accomodations, but they are satisfactory. After having traveled a fairly... More

The room was very clean with a.c. and big plus for us, no animals allowed!!!! The staff was friendly and gave us information on things to do and places... More

Had a magnificent view off the deck of our room and was blessed with glorious weather the whole time we were there. Don't miss out on the seafood chowder as well as all the other delicious seafood here(such as fresh scallops, and haddock with lobster sauce), because we found it to be the best not only in the area, but the whole State of Maine as well. The restaurant is very charming, romantic and full of ambiance, with great views across the... More
