Sue, the front of the house person could not have been nicer. She set the tone for the lodge and the staff. This was our first get away since COVID began. One of our friends was a bit nervous about dining indoors and the staff took her concerns seriously, placing us at tables with sufficient distancing. The food at the lodge is excellent. We ate there both nights of our stay and were not disappointed. The lodge is meticulous. Kudos to all the staff that maintain the place. The setting is beautiful right on the lake. We had a great time hiking, relaxing…and even swimming in the lake. We will be back.
I'm really pretty easy to please...if I'm not making the bed or cleaning he bathroom I'm pretty happy. That being said, I really, really wish the staff had told me that there was a wedding going on when we booked our stay, And that they had not put me in a room right next to the band. Ans that someone had been at the front desk when we were checking out. The breakfast muffins were yummy, though. Sigh, We won't be gong back.
This was our first time in Rangeley ME. We wanted a "Lodge" and the Loon Lodge met our definition. It is fitting that it is a desired wedding venue. It is a log cabin style design, pictures can be seen on their web site. The gardens and the building are very well maintained. The receptionist and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The back lawn and garden goes right down to the lake and a private dock. It was quiet and we heard the loons each night. Coffee and blueberry muffins warm from the oven were available in the morning. We enjoyed ours setting in the Adirondack chairs down by the lake. Things that we did not mind in the least but may be an issue for some; there is no TV in the room, it is a few miles into town, and being a older wooden building there are a few creaks and squeaks (we never heard voices from the adjacent rooms) One thing we did miss by being there Sunday-Tuesday is there is no food or bar Sunday thru Tuesday. The menu looks very good and the restaurant reviews are great. There were plenty of dinning options in Rangeley.…
We booked a night here on our driving circle of Maine. The lodge and backyard grounds were lovely. The muffins they made in the morning we incredible. However, our night there, they had the parking lot close to the lodge ripped up to replace the drainage or something, so we had to park in the upper lot and carry the luggage across the dirt construction zone. The back yard overlooking the lake was great and while we didn't get to see sunset because it rained, we did have a mini picnic on the chairs enjoying the lake before the storm blew in. I would recommend staying at Loon Lodge if in the area, assuming the construction is complete.
We stayed here mid-April and essentially had the place to ourselves! What a beautiful location and place to stay. Hospitality was exceptional and we had a great time despite the wintry weather! Room was clean, comfortable and as described in the description. Loved our stay! Will return!!
Loon Lodge Restaurant has always been a favorite when we go to Rangeley for snowmobiling!!! The pub is closed due to covid restrictions n u have to make reservations in advance for the dining room.. Our favorite server is Rebecca who is very efficient, friendly and makes awesome expresso martinis too!!! The burgers are mouth watering n I had the salmon dish which was cooked to perfection!!! Thank you Becca again and it was great seeing you !!!
We loved this place! Perfect for families, weekend with friends, or couples. Great walkable little village nearby or just sit by the lake and read enjoying the view. Beautiful, cozy, peaceful, amazing food...we’ll be back.
I cannot say enough good things about this lodge. The lodge and rooms are so comfortable and beautiful. A true lodge experience. We stayed in a lakeside room and it was amazing to watch the sunset. Dinner was amazing. My husband ordered steak, shrimp, green beans, with mashed potatoes. I ordered a burger. We weren't disappointed. We ended our meal by sharing an apple crisp with ice cream and homemade whipped cream. We typically like to visit different inns but this by far is our favorite. This is our second stay this summer.
Stayed two nights last week. It was a quiet clean and comfortable Inn on the water in Rangeley. Nice lawn and dining overlooking the lake. Rooms were small but clean and well kept. Staff all were very pleasant. Muffins for breakfast were good. Dinner at the Inn very pleasant, see seperate review, on deck overloking te lake, very nice. Has a dock and a small swimming area. All around peaceful place to stay, two minutes from town.
