We enjoyed our stay at the Mercury Inn. The property is extremely well-located, both for walking in Portland and for driving access to route 295. Parking wasn't a problem; all nights but one we were able to park on the street, and they have a system in place for seamless guest parking in the driveway. We stayed in Room 1.... More

great B&B in a good location - easy walking to downtown areas, seamless digital check-in/out process, easy (free) parking at inn or on street, very comfortable room with nice touches (white noise machine, activity/restaurant pamphlets), super quiet, tasty homemade breakfast - will recommend to others and will stay again next time in Portland!

...which, as other reviewers have noted, is fantastic - way, way, way beyond the often incredibly boring continental breakfast offerings of the other local inns/hotels . Our room (IV) was very spacious with a comfortable king size bed and, even though street-side, relatively quiet thanks to decently insulated windows and the purr of the A/C. The bathroom is down the... More

From even before our arrival, when Tim helpfully answered lots of questions about local eating, to checkout, our stay at the Mercury Inn was characterised by great, friendly service. Tim and the assistant inn-keeper, Mark, were hugely helpful in answering our questions about the city and things to do, directing us in particular to Fort Williams for the views/walk, the... More

This is the most welcoming, stylish b and b I have ever stayed at (and I've been to a number of them). Welcoming, warm, and totally cool hosts; stylish mid-century furniture; one of the best breakfasts I've had in ages! I could go on. Our room was perfect (huge!) and the location is within walking distance to downtown yet out... More

My wife and I stayed at the Mercury Inn recently and were blown away by all the littler things. First of all, the building is beautiful. A stunning Victorian era home that still has all of its charm. The breakfasts in the morning were unreal, delicious and changed every day. The obvious plus to this inn, is the location. The... More

This B&B is on the edge of downtown but within easy walking distance. There is a great communal lounge area with lots of information, a DVD and book library. There is also plenty of teas and coffee all the time and a fridge. The rooms and bathrooms are really clean. The bed linen is lovely and the beds very comfy.... More

From the beginning of our trip Tim and Jake made us feel welcome. We received a friendly text telling us our room was ready while we were still on the road. The inn recently underwent a renovation and you would never know we were the first couple to stay there since it was completed. Nothing was out of place and... More

Friendly and helpful owners who provide a good home made breakfast with a positive community living style. Location is ideal to visit all of Portland on foot and good restaurants are close too. Trader Joes is five minutes walk, so a good glass of wine in front of the 50 inch TV with some nibbles is no problem! Thanks, Clive... More
