Stayed at this hotel as the first stop on our week long road trip. Lots of food options within walking distance. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, clean and pretty roomy. Didn’t eat at the cafe downstairs but coffee was good.
I stayed here with a friend in May 2022. The hotel is located on the waterfront in downtown Portland. Location was good, very walkable to anything downtown Portland and just across the street from the waterfront path. Our room on the 8th floor had a nice view of the river. The room was clean and quiet for a good night sleep. The hotel was very busy the weekend I was there hosting a conference. I would return again!
Spouse and I were eager to resume our annual trek to Portland after two years of quarantining due to the Covid shutdown and we tried this hotel for the first time. We were on the 4th floor and paid extra for a room with a view of the sea, although once in our room we observed that the sea was well beyond a large parking lot and some industrial buildings. Both the room and queen bed were very clean and comfortable. There was a small fridge. However, the small bathroom had no tub at all but only a large, rectangular tiled shower behind a thick, fixed stationary see-thru (not at all frosted) glass door. No curtain. This effectively made it impossible to have any privacy while showering. (We have travelled around the world and have never seen anything like it.) We stayed two nights: a Thursday night, for which the room rate was $121, and the Friday night for which the rate was $247. (Not a typo.) We were advised at check in that there would be no maid service. At one point we could hear talking and laughter in the adjoining room. Breakfast was not included but could be purchased in the dining area. ($8. for a yogurt cup.) Parking was by valet only, at a nearby garage, and parking charges were issued for each instance in the day that the car was retrieved. We eventually avoided the charges (and tips) by parking on the street in front of the hotel and feeding meters often. The one bright spot in our stay was the unfailing warmth and friendliness of the women who staffed the front desk of the hotel.…
We booked this hotel for a quick night getaway. We have been to the old port many a times and never spend the night - our room had an amazing view of the harbor and we actually stayed in most of the afternoon enjoying the view and warmth in our room. when it was time for the festival we were attending the hotel offers a shuttle service which was great!
(Attempted) to book via the Marriott website. Entered my data four (4) times, and site crashed, or was simply overwhelmed. Had to call, was on hold for 30 minutes Not even sub-par service. Its virtually non-existent.
Be VERY careful making a reservation here!! I made one, cancelled within the proper timeframe, and had to jump through hoops to get my money back!! Hours on the phone, tons of emails, and no luck. Finally went to Twitter and had a result. Please know, I repeatedly sent my email confirmation clearly stating the cancellation deadline as well as the cancellation email confirmation. To add insult to injury, the Operations Manager sent me two snarky emails stating I was only getting the deposit back and then a third conceding I was correct. Proceed with caution!!!!
This is our go to Portland hotel. Danielle at the front desk recognized our titanium status and put our 2 rooms next to each other. Suite night upgrade was granted! Always a clean hotel and very friendly staff. Valet is fantastic. We can’t wait to stay again!
Let me start by saying the Hotel location is perfect it’s in the middle of everything without being in the middle of everything. I love the fact that I can walk everywhere very convenient and some of the best restaurants in Portland are right down the street. But that being said this Hotel needs much better management! How do you run out of eggs for two days? Their already limited on their menu for breakfast also espresso machine was down! What’s the point of the app if it doesn’t work??? I went downstairs to pick up my order and they didn’t even have it! Also housekeeping is doing the best they can but waiting over an hour for fresh towels when I ordered them on the app is unacceptable and super frustrating! I’m a Bonvoy platinum member and by no means did I feel special at all during the stay and it was my birthday! I completely understand Covid I have a business myself but I came here spending good money to enjoy my family trip not to be stressed out. The front desk girls are in lolly land . The one thing I will say the valet parking guys are very sweet I always had my car in front ready to go very accommodating. They helped bring the luggage in and out they went above and beyond!…
Over priced, over $600 for an unfinished suite, broken shower, limited elevator access an no on site restaurant. Typical courtyard but charging 5 star prices plus $30 valet parking. Location was good close to the pier and restaurants. Made reservations weeks in advance only to find out the room we reserved was not available. Like Seinfeld TV show they knew how to take a reservation but not hold the reservation
We recently stayed in an executive suite on the top floor. We booked well in advance and the price we paid for a large bedroom with a separate large living area and a big bathroom was well under what other popular hotels in the area were charging for a smaller room. Our room appeared to be very new and so did the lobby areas and check in. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We never heard any noise at all in our room during our two night stay. Occasionally there was a siren outside, but that was about it. As far as the location in Old Port, it was fantastic and within walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars and shopping. We thought the parking fee was steep at $30, but we managed to find parking directly across the street so we were able to park for free. We have Marriott Titanium status so our room also included breakfast. We opted to go to Standard Baking Company instead and venture out to coffee shops. My one complaint would be that there was a lot of black mold in the shower that could have used some bleach. It would be impossible for the cleaning staff to go in there and not see it so not sure why they don't bother taking the time to clean it because there was a lot of it!! Seems to be a common issue in chain hotel bathrooms that we stay in. Other than that problem, I would recommend the hotel overall as a nice, well-priced hotel in a great area for exploring Portland.…
