One night stay at the end of our trip. Pros: Nice hotel. great room, perfect location, and helpful staff. Plenty of pillows, towels, and wash clothes in room. Right in town. Step outside and in downtown Portland with the waterfront, shops, and restaurants across the street. Cons: Pillows are too short (sounds crazy but true). The blankets are slick and fall off the bed all night, so woke up all during the night to adjust them. The septic system was worked on while we visited with no notification so the smell was bad for hours. Very bothersome. Would stay again.
Excellent Return Visit On a return holiday visit, I can appreciate anew why we decide to stay here when we want to stay in Portland. *Excellent walkable downtown location *Front desk is focused on service first *Parking is convenient, although there is a charge. *Convenient light breakfast provided Although the holiday crowd in the hotel was busy, the staff manages to carry on without a bad step. What more do you need for your getaway?
The hotel is easy to find and in a good location. Many restaurants are in walking distance and the points of interest in the city are not far away. The rooms are in the typical Hampton style and clean. The hotel also has an indoor pool in addition to the usual complimentary breakfast. The only negative point is the valet parking since they charge a service for parking the car literally in front of the hotel. I would have preferred to pay 20 USD more for the room and be able to park directly in front of the hotel by myself.
A construction was undergoing and it was not announced when I did my booking, if going to visit the Canopy hotel is better located. The staff when did the check in wasn’t enjoying the job. The room cleanliness was not good either. The contractors where nicer than the hotel staff
Nicest Hampton I have stayed at... maybe ever.. Im not speaking of location or amenities. This Staff is super friendly all the way around, and the hotel is clean... Im talking actually clean. When I walked into my room, it smelled clean, it looked clean, it was truly clean. Something I haven't experienced in a Hampton in awhile!
I went there for a quick escape with my hubby, arrived on Thursday. Friday we learned of a massive blizzard hitting our hometown beginning that night, continuing all day Saturday. The staff let us go home! Refunded our upcoming nights, no questions asked, no problem what so ever!!
The hotel was easy to find and a great location in Portland. We able to park on the street and not have to use the valet. It was Walking distance from all the restaurants and very close to the waterfront.
We stayed here on a quick business trip and we’re very happy with the accommodations. The front desk people were friendly and informative about the area. The valet service was quick and easy as we squeezed a trip to Trader Joe’s Which is very close by! it is also within walking distance to some of the pubs in old port after our business meeting. The rooms were clean and comfy. I would stay again!
A very enjoyable experience. The hotel is immaculate and the location is superb. The staff was attentive. Everything one would expect from a Hampton Inn was delivered. In sum, a very well managed property. I will most certainly return the next time I'm in Portland, which will be soon.
The mattress in the room I was assigned was in extremely poor condition and desperately needed to be replaced. The shouting in the hallway at early hours of the morning could be overlooked had the bed been comfortable enough to actually sleep.
