The staff we’re amazing and left my mom her own bottle of wine, chocolates, balloons, and a card signed by all the staff for her birthday. It’s so nice to see people go above and beyond. Thank you Hampton Inn!

Hi Sandy & Tom.
My wife and I stayed there in early fall 2016. There is a lot to do in Portland Maine depending on what you’re into and how much time you have. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown. The hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It is reasonably priced and I enjoy eating at the free buffet breakfast for a day or two when we stay. When you book the hotel request a high floor on the Fore Street side so you can have a view of the harbor. If you want lobster your going to the right place. Every restaurant brags about their lobster rolls. We visited many of the restaurants high on the TripAdvisor list. To name a few we ate at Becky’s for breakfast, Duckfat for lunch and Street & Co. for dinner. They all aim to please. I’m big into sightseeing so we started by taking the Portland Discovery Trolley & Boat Tour to get the lay of the land. We also went to the Victoria Mansion along with a few other attractions. We walked and visited shops on Commercial and Fore Streets. I also drove the area and stopped at various points of interest like the Eastern Promenade. I’m sure you will appreciate all that Portland Maine has to offer. Enjoy!
