We stayed at this hotel twice in 3 weeks. Service very professional and rooms were clean. The breakfast, while free, is scarce in healthy choices, but as they say you get what you pay for. The bartender was gracious on our first visit to meet our Golden Retriever puppy, alas he wasn’t on duty the next time. The hotel provides a convenient free shuttle to downtown and the it’s many eateries. Truly Portland has become foodie time.

We had some communication issues between the BONVoY app and this property. The gal who checked us in was trying to listen in on a meeting going on and was not attentive to my concerns. The room was good. The breakfast had good selection and was hot. Never like a $24 per day parking fee but it is the sign of the times.

The staff was friendly and the hotel clean. The complimentary shuttle service was a wonderful service provided by the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was more than adequate and versatile selection options.

One of the best Residence Inn's I've stayed at recently. Typical room size and felt up to date. Small but ample workout room. Typical breakfast but more areas to sit. Parking is available but in next building so drop off bags first. Pretty good location at end of waterfront, accessible but not in middle of tourist area. Love Betty's and Holy Donuts! Staff very helpful. Shout out to Edith for her positive demeanor and amazing skill juggling during busy time.

We stayed 2 nights in the “Residence Downtown/Waterfront” in Portland in a standard room on the second floor, costing more than 1000 $ which is unbelievably expensive for what you get. When we checked in we asked for sea view but were told that unfortunately on both sides of the hotel major construction work was going on. So we asked if we could see the room first but were told “no, we would need to check in first”. We checked in, but had to ask for an alternative as the first room directly faced a brick wall (see photo). We were told that there was only one room left on the other side but facing a construction site as well (see second photo). The room was large and ok, though the shower curtain was smelly. Many guests had pets in this hotel - I don’t like to be in an elevator with dogs, one of them had a muzzle which was rather intimidating, another dog touching me with wet fur: I feel this is a no go for an “upscale” hotel. Finally the “Waterfront” in the hotel name is in my opinion deceptive, to say the least. Value for money is absolutely insufficient.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding this issue. I am sorry about the recent new construction going on around the hotel. I understand that the noise that goes on, as well as the appearance is very bothersome to our guests, and for that, we sincerely apologize. You can always put in a request for a certain location, and we will do everything in our power to accommodate those requests. With reference to the dogs, we are a Residence Inn, which are known for being pet friendly hotels. With that being said, our first and second floors in the hotel are the pet friendly floors. We do our best to keep the pets limited to these two floors, but if a guest has a service animal, they are entitled to go to any floor they choose. I am sorry if you were not aware of this prior to making your reservation to stay. Please accept my sincere apology, and I hope you will not let this deter you from coming back again in the future. Our prices do get much better in the off season if your ever planning to come back to the area. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me any time. Sincerely, Adam Green Operations Manager
